  1. I don't listen to much older stuff.....a little Zeppelin, a little Floyd. That's about it. Mostly new stuff; Tool, SOAD, Korn, Staind (older stuff....when they were good), etc etc But me and Dave (audiolife) were rocking out to some ZZ Top in his truck the other day.......LOL
  2. And upon further review, it looks as if both me and Nick are having lovely mornings thus far..........
  3. I thought that would make me feel better. It didn't work.
  4. God damned stupid mother pucking incompetent pieces of chit. I've only been at work 2 god damned hours and already can tell my day is going to be pucking chit. Dumbass people are just pucking pissing me off today.
  5. Haha......it's called strapped Minilith's......
  6. Compared to brands like Profile, Hifonics and RF Punch they are salty price wise. But, considering the amps are of the same quality of stuff like the higher end Zapco, Tru Tech, Arc XXK......they are relative steals for their price.
  7. Mufflers/exhaust aswell
  8. Reason it stuck (and reason I mention it) is because it actually helped me better understand what was actually happening in a ported enclosure Everybody always talked about response of a ported box, how to calculate port length and whatnot.......but nobody ever really explained how a ported enclosure actually worked. After I read up on helmholtz resonantors and how they worked, ported boxes just made more sense.......LOL. Kinda like everything fell together for me........
  9. Read up on Helmholtz resonantors.
  10. Price is supposed to be ~$1,000 last I heard.

  14. Screw the BLA. Just get amps that accept balanced inputs
  15. *Raises hand* x2
  16. www.zedaudio.com Run a search over on ECA. Stephen Mantz actually posts over there sometimes, and there is a TON of info on their amps over there.
  17. *cough* Zed Audio *cough* But yes, I agree....it's crazy the killings some companies are making. What's more amazing is that it's not the low-end or even most midline companies.....it's the super duper high end products that are the worst. And yet, people are obviously paying the prices, because those companies are still in business. I also agree with the lack of standardization. While there are "generally accepted" ways in which certain things "should" be tested, obviously not everybody is following them. Infinity and their sensitivity specs, Xmax #'s being "transposed" with Xmech, etc etc I also think there is a general lack of knowledge by the "professionals" in the industry. I honestly think the most mis/uninformed are those who have scary title like "MECP Certified Installer". People see that and assume they know what they are talking about, when they are the ones who spew the most unintelligible statements. But, overall knowledge by sales/installation staff is severely lacking. And what makes it worse is that, rather than the manufacturer's help train this staff, they simply inform them on what to say about their products to increase sales. Rather than educate, they train them to sell on myths, snake oil and magic pixie dust. Follow that is the lack of competent shops. Rather than push products that deserve to be sold, they design their sales floor and training programs to push and sell the products that simply have the highest markups and/or fringe benefits (better quantity discounts, etc etc). Not to mention the general lack of ability to demo/use/hear equipment at them before you purchase a product. Just a guess, but I'd say that most shops have less than 20% of their available products on display and/or available to hear/touch before purchase. Add to that the lack of competent sales staff, and how is the average consumer supposed to make an informed purchase? Finally; Lack of inforcement of unauthorized sales by manufacturers. Many will still warranty unauthorized products even though it states otherwise on their website. All they are doing is undercutting their authorized dealer network and decreasing the willingness of the consumer to buy from authorized dealers. Why spend the time/money to purchase authorized if the manufacturer is taking away most of the "authorized" advantages. And, no matter how many "warnings" are on their website, I see hardly any manufacturers actually doing anything to combat/decrease unauthorized product whoring. All mighty dollar is more important. As long as more product is rolling out the door...... Actually; I do have one more: Lack of manufacturer support of competitions. Car stereo comps are dying, slowly but surely. Lack of interest and lack of support is killing them. I'd type more here, but I've already wrote a novel....... [/soapbox] **Show of hands of how many actually read this entire post**
  18. I was planning on either hanging the Rl-p or a pair of IDMax's off my rear deck sooner or later Definitely interested to hear what you think about it as you get more listening time in!
  19. Thanks for all your help guys!!
  20. Dayton RS series and Peerless HDS are great options aswell. Dayton RS and Seas L18/CA18 are probably the best "bang for your buck" products out there right now....both rival the Seas Excel's in overall performance. HDS is no slouch either though.
  21. LOL x2 to that
  22. ABS plastic? Plexiglass? PE sells some nice little "project boxes" that would work.
  23. Whatever you tell yourself to make it better
