diehard platinum battery question
Did everyone know that DieHard Platinum Batteries are made by Odyssey and Sold under Sears DieHard Platinum Logo! Odyssey is one of the best if not the best agm battery out there. Preferred and used by the military even. I use an Odyssey Group 65 PC1750. DieHards are just as good at a better price point : )

incriminator 2 i12s or 1 15" lethal injection in hatchback sealed?
This tends to be a personal decision with examples of setups in your car on you tube and around the forums ...I tend to be a 1 sub kinda guy myself, but that does not mean that 1 sub would be the best application for your setup. If i had the room I'd run 1 nice 15" sub in my car.

Subs are peaking high
I want it at 32. 35 is a rough estimate because the hifonics amp goes 30 to 250 so im not really sure spot is correct. Just try to get as close as possible. I have a hifonics amp and mine is tuned around 100hz for my 12" Fi BL. On my amp that is between the 11 and 12 o clock positions it hits both highs AND lows very nicely. My enclosure is tuned at 32hz, most people run their amps between 80-100 or 120 max for lpf Edit: correct, make sure you don't have bass boost/loudness etc. turned on in your H/U or turned up on your amp, that will help for sure especially if your gains are set to match the H/U's voltage output.

Order #3920
If I know Fi at all you are going to be completely surprised and blown away by their quality drivers...Mine showed up before my tracking info ever did

Happy to join the forum!
Welcome to SSA! I'm sure you will find your BL's MUCH to your liking over the cvr's : ) With the right electrical system and power in place, I'm certain will make you forget ALL about your previous cvr's...they are incredible drivers! BTW I found SSA the same way you did. Stick around!

Whats best for me?
Your recommending him do the big 3 so he can hear and feel the lows better?????? lmao.......ok OP, a single SSD 15 and a 1k watt amp would do the trick just fine. I would do the big 3 and maybe a bigger battery up front (it wont help your lows any, lol but would help voltage some) Thanks everyone for the quick replies. If I do a single sub I'll probably get a Bl or Q instead of the SSD, just because its in my budget and would sound better (right?) But if i did a single 15" woofer would i miss the sound in my s-10 with the 10" being punchier? Would a Bl 15" be better at playing fast, clean bass than a 15" SSD with the same power going to either? My main concern is that a buddy of mine had 2 memphis mojo 15's in a yukon with 2500rms and it was muddy and slow compared to my s-10 setup when playing rock. Don't get me wrong it was loud as hell, but i liked the speed my s-10 has more than his crazy volume. About your inquiry on the Fi BL itself....I have a 12" inch and it is very nice in the accurate, quick response and "punch" department. I have a song or two that play low low's and also have double bass kicks at the same time and both come thru strong and clear! As for its comparison to SSD's or any others I can offer no opinion as I have not owned an SSD or any others from SSA. But I do know that they are quality subs also! This 12" Fi BL is blowing my mind in every way more and more every day!

Whats best for me?
This I know, but for the setup the OP is shooting for I seem to think that a 145 amp alty should be fine (to begin with)...this opinion comes from my experience currently on a tiny stock 90 amp alty with 1600rms going to my sub. All though it is not sufficient enough it does keep my battery charged.

Whats best for me?
Ya im gonna edit that out lol, cause my emphasis was on the electrical/power not the "Hearing" or "feeling" of it. Lmao thanks for calling me out on that! That was actually sounding completely ridiculous after re-reading what I had typed!

Whats best for me?
If you want to get more lows you will need an enclosure tuned to accommodate..and make sure you get a bigger amp. I recommend upgrading your big 3 right away(better battery, upgraded cables from alternator to battery and upgraded battery grounds), if not even 1st on the to do list your stock alt should be fair enough to begin your build. (wish I had room in the trunk for 5^3's I would of went with a 15" Fi BL instead of 12")!!

thoughts on subs
imo it seems that two 18's would not be ideal for a SQ "theater" like experience in a truck cab
-
thoughts on subs
if thats the case then you shouldn't be worrying about subs at all. i dont understand how this is your goal but you're talking about 2 18" subs. What are you trying to accomplish exactly, because it certainly isn't SQ so stop kidding yourself? this is true if you are considering 18's for sure...i missed that part somehow. I was thinking two 12's

thoughts on subs
One of the most knowledgeable and truly SQ oriented guys on this forum has 2 Fi Q's and has had them for 3 years now. He tells me they are the best investment in car audio he has ever made! He will swear by them. Once he sees your post, he surely WILL comment for you I personally would also recommend them, although I have not heard them...I have been breaking in a Fi BL 12" and love it. It get's LOW it gets LOUD, and still is quite musical even though im at 2.5^3 and 32hz. I don't see anything nor have I heard anything about the Fi Q's that would or could disappoint you, for what your trying to accomplish!

need help with sub wiring
you are all right lol, now I am questioning myself on where my own gain is set!!!!!!

need help with sub wiring
I have the same amp and in the book it shows where .2v is which is all the way to the right, that with telling him to back off a bit i'm sure he will be safe, plus I have called maxxsonics on this very issue a couple times : )I'm not trying to get into any great debate, but what you are recommending would cause more than one problem. If his head unit was rated for 2.5v where does the .2v setting come from? Not that head unit ratings are great to go by anyway. I see what you mean I recommend that the OP call Maxxsonics and get their advice on where he should begin setting the gain as did I to begin with.

you are most certainly right, i was just going by this specific amps booklet. but it is better to use a Digital multi meter or ear for sure

correct I have the BRX1600.1D and did not install my bass knob nor do I use any bass boost or use the boost knob on the amp itself.
-
need help with sub wiring
ok I have that owners manual in my hand you will pin the amps "gain" knob all the way to the right then just barely back off like less than a mm, or a mm at most.

what amp exactly are you using?
-
need help with sub wiring
i would set the amp gain at .2v or just BARELY, BARELY ABOVE that, i mean BARELY to be safe
