Posting this for a friend.. His 2 18 inch recones shipped in a 16 inch box both crammed in with no type of protection other than wrapped in plastic. We know it's just the surround that is bent but those things aren't cheap and they used to be shipped WAY better.

I would try forward firing but we built the box in the trunk. Later in i may build another box and try it. From trying it with my last setup i lost a ton of output and i had it sealed really good. Idk if its just the car or what but its way louder subs and port facing backwards. The closer the port is to the back of the trunk the louder it is as well.. If i moved my last box like 8 inches closer the back seat it wouldnt be half as liud if i moved it 3 or 4 inches from the trunk lid..

Do you guys think putting deadner on the underside of the trunk lid would help at all to keep it from rattling so bad?

I in no way shape or form would ever put down or not recommend a zcon to anyone.. I loved mine and still do. If i would of had more room i would have gotten another zcon in a heartbeat. Or possibly a evil.. Bottom line is ssa produces some of the best quality sounding subs on the planet. You could never go wrong choosing ssa. Ever.

Ok so i just spent about an hour playing with the amp settings and the ethos. My first impression of them is that damn they are loud! They play so smooth and hit higher notes like crazy and play the lower notes with authority. I've had many different sub stages and these have their own personal sound. I'm very impressed so far. So far I'm hearing and feeling bass from songs that before just weren't that impressive. I really feel like im going to be able to expand my music collection greatly because of how well these subs play. I'll post more once i have more time to play with them but for now im in the middle of moving to a new house and i need to focus all my attention on that.

Just got done wiring up the ethos. Played one song real quick TI ft Chris Brown called take it off. My neighbor has a family gathering going on so i only played it for like a minute. I'm going to drive down the road here in a few minutes and see what these bad boys can do. I didn't change any amp settings or anything from my previous setup so I'm gonna go and let it rip on a back road.

The connection point to the board is not adequate for continuous current draw at the level of power it can produce.It's actually suggested wiring to 1ohm on a very adequate batt bank can kill it because of that fact on music. Luckily, Sencheezy had high impedance curve which kept the current draw low. The HD30K-SPL is going to be tons better but is once again in deep development. The HD10000 and DSP3000 are now available to purchase so people should start seeing these popping up everywhere. Also, HD3000s are about to get a massive price slash, How massive.. I could possibly want 2.
