What programming do you usually watch on TV?
...And why? I usually watch anything informative because I figure if I'm watching the toob I might as well learn a little something while I'm at it...I can never really get into reality shows they just tend to piss me off. And the news is always so depressing it's not worth watching. What about you guys?

Second Skin Damplifier Pro
SECOND SKIN GIVEAWAY REVIEW!! (Sorry if it takes a while to load there are a few pics!) I am no stranger to this wonderful product... having two full layers in the trunk, generous amounts on the front doors and rear trunk wall I've really enjoyed what a big difference in sound quality Damp Pro has made. Before I installed it, pretty much every panel on the car would vibrate incessantly and after futile attempts at fixing the problem with weatherstripping and rags I decided to order a pack last summer. I'm very grateful to Ant at SSA for choosing me as a winner in the giveaway contest, and for allowing me to finally complete my sound deadening endeavor. I chose to install the door pack I was sent onto the roof, because it was the most logical choice between the areas of the car I haven't covered. My roof skin had separated from the roof support, causing the panel to go apenuts with certain frequencies of bass, so I tackled the process today of damplifying the roof (is that a word? If not it should be hehe) Since two full layers in the trunk worked wonders, I tried something a little different this time... I placed full square pieces in between the roof supports onto the bare skin of the roof and applied "center" pieces of the material in the middle of each larger piece... I imagine it'll help the vibrations quite a bit. At the time of this writing my headliner is still dropped inside of the car for preparations of my screens being installed so I'm going to have to wait a bit to test it out, but there is no doubt in my mind that this will make a huge difference in the sound. I really promote this product at car shows, I especially argue the price point vs. performance of the product (when compared to other more expensive brands vs. square footage such as DynaMat) and I came up with the idea of maybe cutting up a piece into small squares and handing it out at the car shows with the website written on it... so people can go and compare for themselves... like I tell everyone I'm all about saving money while keeping the quality straight So thanks again SecondSkin and keep up the great work! Oh, and remember kids, the edges are sharp! I forgot to wear gloves this time and paid for it with nicked fingers. Headliner dropped can't get it out Here are some older pics from my initial install last summer: Bare trunk The aftermath of a day of Damplifying! Trunk Lid Hazards of the job!!! lol

Routing power?
Hey all, I have a question about routing power in the car for mobile video... I have 6 items that need to be powered on the roof: 3 15" flip-down monitors, 2 sun visor monitors, and a video signal booster. Each piece of equipment has #18 gauge power/ground leads and they are fused with very thin glass fuses, so I'm assuming they draw very little amperage (none of the equipment lists actual numbers and Google searches proved useless) so I'm assuming total load I'm looking at under 15 amps or so. I have some spare 9ga wire I could run from the battery up to the headliner for power (it might be overkill but the next smallest wire I have is 18ga and I'm trying to work with what I already have available...) Once I get the 12v lead run from the battery up to the headliner, I'm not sure what the best way to distribute the power would be... I've thought of everything from installing a mini-fuse box (might not fit up in the headliner where I need it, plus cost issue) to an inline fuse holder (9ga in, 6 x 18ga wires out) and for a minute I even considered the half-ass way but I'd rather not do that (cut the 9ga insulation 6 times and just wrap a wire around each slice to tap power.. lol not very professional or safe) So, my main question is, what would be the best way to distribute the power to each of these devices? Thanks!

Just finished... had to come inside and wash all my cuts off before I could use the keyboard but I will have the review shortly- Second Skin Promotion - 10 free Door Packs
Most of us have lives you know... as for me I didn't get my package until a few weeks ago plus I'm actively looking for work and my time is limited so... Anyways ..... will be done soon Ant- lincolns....... all big jons,...
Wish I coulda made it out man I'm just hurtin' for gas right now...- Second Skin Promotion - 10 free Door Packs
Ha... just figured out that the landlord was holding my package at the front office for a week and I didn't know about it So hopefully by this weekend I am going to pull my headliner and Damplify my roof Thanks again By the way those SPL tiles are hella thick!- Alarm System for New Ride???
I have an Excalibur system installed, with the remote pager... it's been pretty reliable so far (mostly for catching these neighborhood kids kicking their football around and nailing my car lol...) but honestly, among the major brands you can't really go wrong.. in MY opinion, it's who installs the system that matters... ...the idiots who put mine in neglected to set the sensitivity correctly for my shock sensors - a week later my car got side-swiped in my apartment complex and I was none the wiser... didn't even give a warning chirp get it done by a reputable shop or if you're a DIY-kinda guy make sure you triple check your work... Oh nice Deville taillights BTW- help with trunk lid rattle
Rattles are caused by two pieces of metal, plastic, etc. vibrating against each other, and "vibrations" are a single piece of metal flexing and making noise on its own, like the sides of the trunk... dampening material like Damplifier will help 100% with vibrations of single panels but for rattles you need to put something in between the two parts that are making noise, such as expanding foam, CCF, or as Ant said you could even temporarily rig it up with a sock, sponge, etc etc until you find something permanent... I used to keep a couple of towels in the car for this Depends on the car...not sure about the other guy but for me, my box was too big to let the bass through when they were faced backwards... so I turned them around... if you have pretty good clearance on either side of the box then I would leave them as is. But it never hurts to try it the other way too.- Second Skin Promotion - 10 free Door Packs
Just now ordering it now... lol But on a side note I did get to spread the word about SecondSkin at the car show last night... I had a group of car audio fans come up and check out my setup, the first thing they noticed was the lack of panel vibrations... and after they mentioned the high price of Dynamat, I pointed out all the DampPro on the inside and shot them the website, so hopefully you'll be getting some new customers soon- Sorry about non-responsive PMS
Non-responsive PMS? That time of the month already?? Hehe j/k shizz- Mysterious Amp
Problem solved?- help with trunk lid rattle
x2 on what these guys said... I ended up filling the hollow spaces in my lid with Great Stuff foam and covering it in two layers of Damplifier Pro... however the trunk lid has a tendency to close under its own weight now... so if it's a concern to you you might want to stick with one layer or just apply it over the larger flat surfaces.- Do you smoke?
lol same here... I used to ask my friends what the point of smoking cigarettes was I said "all they do is make you dizzy"... I used to smoke mainly when drinking but now I'm starting to smoke more often again...- Second Skin Promotion - 10 free Door Packs
Awesome... can't wait to install more of this great product in the car! Thanks much!!- Five-year-old Romanian Weightlifter
I would tie those parents up and drop them into a pen full of rabid piglets. That's child abuse if you ask me but then again we're talking about another country here. I did lol at the Numa-Numa song in the background at 3:17- A general question about bass and how it works
I can be a personal testament to this... I first installed my 2 15" Fi Q's without sound dampening, and expectedly, the sheet metal immediately surrounding the trunk rattled obnoxiously, diminishing the volume of bass heard both inside and outside the car... After pasting the inside of my trunk with Damplifier Pro (and some appreciable amount of weatherstripping around the license plate and related trim) the bass inside/outside the car has improved what seems to be tenfold... when I demo my system the first thing people notice is the lack of "ghetto" trunk rattle... I mean, if you know instruments.. it's something like playing a note on the guitar with the frets buzzing - yeah, you will generally recognize the note being played but the resulting distortion takes energy away from sound... sql54 was precisely right - the energy being wasted on flexing and vibrating the panels of your car is that much less sound energy reaching your ear... simple physics/fluid dynamics (without getting too complicated) if you think about it =) So in short, yes, sound deadening is a great investment for any serious audiophile... and yes, Damplifier is a surefire way to go- My neighbor is a dum-dum...
Hehe... nice catch.... my rear door looks something like that but it was the fault of an inconsiderate (and intoxicated) neighbor =P- Problem?
Yuck... if you'd prefer a more mature crowd I would stick around these parts... I was once a frequenter of CA.com but I felt my IQ starting to slip with each log-on so I came over here- Work Out Music????
I mainly listen to rap/hip-hop but when I'm in the gym, I find something a little more hardcore motivating for me... depends on your taste... for rock try some Lamb of God, A7X, something speedy, intense and fast paced... but make sure you throw something a little more low-key in for your rest periods or god forbid you blow a blood vessel... hehe =) Oh, and I know it's cliche, but in my gym they spin the 80's station every now and then... I'm talking Rocky-esque music (Europe - Final Countdown) ..... nothing quite like that to get you running up and down flights of stairs and punching hapless meat slabs- TEXAS MEET 2222222
Sorry brotha! Looks like it aint happenin this weekend. Dont know where to go or meet up. Not enough input.... I am sure we will give it another go here soon. Dont go dying on me! Gah... it's all good... suppose I've been layed off long enough and need to find a new source of funds (aka JOB) before I go out and party all crazy like that lol... but let's definitely set this up for Houston I've never been out that way and want to go hang in the capital of swang 'n' bang for a change... heh... let's keep this idea alive guys we need a team effort for this to go down! Those who made it to the S.A. meet know how we do!!! lol- update on Alex(chops grandson)
Chop, I wish your grandson the best... First off, sorry I'm a little late on this post - I had to watch my young brother whom I cared for since birth suffer from a skin condition much like your grandson's... for the first two years of his life his body was completely covered in bleeding sores much like you describe, which caused him constant pain and suffering... eventually diagnosed as "infant eczema" which we were understandably reluctant to accept such a simple diagnosis... we went through the same process erring on the side of caution and limiting his contact to potential allergens, foreign irritants, etc, etc but nothing helped appreciably... the only thing I can suggest which eased the irritation even a bit was oatmeal baths... he eventually grew out of it when he was a toddler. I hope your grandson's condition clears up much sooner than that however, all you can do is keep faith in the medical professionals and trust their judgment.. I'm sure he will be better soon.. I'll keep him in my prayers, keep us updated on his well-being..- TEXAS MEET 2222222
