I'm not sure I could fit that large of an alt.. I dunno which is the problem plus it's a new car and new engine so IDK if they have one for it. hmmm, if not, what would ya do? lots more batteries and external charging on a regular basis probably. hmmmm, maybe you could send in your current alt to get "beefed" up?

Julian I've asked the very same thing man. They said that the 270a is a "proven" alternator and recomends that I remove A/C and run mulitple alts

Budjet Amp?
I would honestly going with that PP...I've had AP, didn't like it, reason being is I had it on my BTL at one point, so was wanting more power, and asking more power out of a AP1500 isn't the smartest idea. On the other hand, I recomemded it to my local, reason being is he had two lower rated subs, so he wasn't needing any more power than oh 800 watts, so that amp suited him well at that time. I now have AQ, and well, its eh. I like it, and it pleases my Icon very well. But I have this strange feeling that I'm not geting 1200watts without sending too much clipping. just my .02

Lol I'm sure they wouldn't notice until our power generator went out I bet they could get you a discount on C&D batteries. haha, I doubt it, thoze are some big bitches tho many lol, like 110lbs each Hmmmm, thanks for the insight, I guess I will steer away from this idea. Again, I was just curious is all. And I was thinking the thicker the copper than more current can be traveled but, thanks for informing me. we're all here to learn

I'm not completely sure on what to try next. Maybe, try elementing some of the possiblitys, for example, try to connecty the amps bypassing the fuse blocks, maybe that could be the issue. But for both to bad, idk, find than unlikely. Ummm, How do you have your amps grounded? May want to check that. Try to make sure there isn't any corrosion on you cables.

Which one would you take given the choice
So your saying it is absolutely fine to play hard clipped music at full tilt with no worries of destroying your subs? Clipping is the number one cause of speaker failures and to suggest that clipping can not cause it on it's own is a lie. Clipping leads to the overheating of the coil at a higher rate than you'll see from sending 2 to 3 times the power cause the coil can make use of the full piston travel of a clean sine wave VS. a clipped signal that prevents the speaker from full travel and leads to overheating and finally a failure of the coil. I'm no expert on the matter but clipping and distortion are the bane of all audio and we all strive to have as little of it as possible. Distortion and the shape of the signal aren't what causes damage, it's the fact that a heavily clipped signal contains significantly more average power over time than an unclipped signal. If we were to compare a sinewave to a squarewave, the average power of the squarewave would be twice that of the sinewave. This is because for a sinewave, Vrms = Vpeak * .707 whereas for a squarewave Vrms = Vpeak. It's perfectly possible to send a heavily clipped signal to a driver and cause no damage as long as the level of power does not exceed the driver's thermal or mechanical limits. It's also perfectly possible to send a heavily clipped signal to a driver and damage the driver, but it was damaged because the level of power exceeded the driver's thermal or mechanical limits and not because the shape of the waveform was non-sinusoidal. Yes, the clipping is what caused the power to increase to a level that caused damage. But it was the average power over time that did the damage, not the shape of the waveform.
