New build for the gmc sierra
How does a slip in port look like!? Your box doesn't look that deep so I was curious as to how you'll reach the tuning frequency. And what a score. Wonder what 2 12k will get ya. And so you have a pic of your pulley system? I can't wrap my head around it lol

True. But I'm trying to stay minimal because it's in my trunk. I'll take a pic. Of it to show it. But I did that brace to the top and it still wobbles! Lol these evils man. But what could also contribute to it I think is that i took out the trunk floor. My spare battery is in it but maybe a little over half the box is floating over it. I couldn't put the floor because it would've been too low to fit the box. But it's wedged in the front area. Maybe I'll make braces to help stablizr the bottom or something.

Thanks for all this info! Even tho you say it's a no no it looks awesome and clean. Btw how much displacement does it take up. I tried to do the math with a full piece. No maybe minus a bit for all the holes and what not but it still came out to a lot so I opted for the 2x2s all over the place

Is that more effective than running braces from wall to wall, top to bottom?

Thank you for posting that. And yea I really didn't think that pitted added strip of wood could make much of a difference. I'll deffinetly get on it when I have the time and energy to get my bix out my trunk

Oh ok. So just adding a brace along the top of the box ( cuz that's where the amp is mounted). Front to back and up on the wall. Never thought of that. I actually did that on the out side of the box. And minted the amp to that. So two pieces one for echo side of the legs of the amp

Ok. Wall to wall and too to bottom correct. Like a T? I'll try that makes sense. I'll give it a shot

Yea it's hard to find real world pics of the amps. Let alone a video on YouTube. So I felt I had to share with my ssa peeps

I've actually put bracing in it thinking to make it not vibrate. But it still does. Lol. I'm using 2x2 wood. 2 sets going from the front of the bix to the back of the box. In between the subs. Then I got two going top to bottom. Equally spaced from one wall in wards. And from the ported wall inwards. Then I got two going from ported wall to wall. All some what equally spaced apart.

Tank indeed! Just waiting on some anti vibration pads. I gotta mount it on my sub box and my previous amp is acting up and I think it's because of the box vibration. Them evils trying to break out its box lol

So I got home and had a package waiting for me. I picked up the 4 channel ssa amp when there was that friends and family sale going on. I was always on the fence about em but once that sale kicked off I just had to pick it up. Loved the pics of it and in. Person this amp is beautiful and has a nice strong solid build feel to it. Im replacing my hifonics Zeus 2000.4 amp so I can't wait to hear the quality this amp puts out. It it will be powering a pair of 8" Rockford pro audio. A pair of Rockford punch 6x9, pair of the ssa evil mids. And evil tweeters. Just thought id share. I don't see much of real hands on experiences with the amps.

How to safely over power a sub ? Smallbox recommendations
So what would be the reason for some of the bigger systems scoring high and moving lots of air, etc. guys like Jprices Tahoe, um sencheezy, etc. idk can't think right now lol. Would you say they are few exceptions or would you say they have the equipment and power supply to get loud regardless ? Just curious.

Oh the zv5? Yea it demolished the lows but anything else no so much. And I was let down seeing how so many people rave about sundown. But if it's lows and air movement you're after, then yea that's the way to go. And I guess at the end of the day you live an learn. Lol

Oh no no. I was just comparing it to the dss ethos in sound quality. On the power it was on ,5k the two ethos sounded great. The evils are just in your face more than the ethos. But that's because it's rated more and on more power so of course that's expected. But the evils sound great and play a very wide range of notes. But I enjoy it. With no regrets or disappointment

Cut your losses. I love my evils. They are everything I was hoping for. Could be from coming from the zv5 where it was lacking upper bass. But yea I'm blown away by it. My dss ethos sounded cleaner and loud. But the evil are loud and low. And maybe it doesn't sound as clean because it's way louder so it's all in your face type. But yea I'm sure you can afford to take a little loss if you was to sell it. I went with the zv5 because it was on island. And I seen it in person and it's a beauty alright lol got me hooked. But it's ok at least now I know. So it's cool because now I won't live with a what if lol
