  1. yea thanks. i thought turning the gain all the way up was a bad idea. i think ill lower it to around 80% of max? cause the subwoofer seems okay at max gains. but i would then assume its the amplifer that may give out and be damaged? i do want the subwoofer to be louder, but dont want to damage anything. ok so thanks. you guys think turning gains to around 80% would be much safer and a good idea? also i have this amp kit KnuKonceptz Kolossus 4 Gauge OFC Amplifier Installation Kit So, would i just be able to hookup a D mono amplifer just for my subwoofer? and then i should be better off? but i am wondering, i forgot how much power can i use from my amplifiers because ill get electrical issues and need to upgrade the battery? i think i remember hearing around 600 watts RMS until i may risk electrical issues? So since my 4 channel amp is 100 RMS per channel. or 100 RMS for 2 front channels, and then bridged at 250 for subwoofer. thats around 350 to 400 RMS. But if i disconnect the subwoofer from it, its only 200 RMS. so i should be safe with around a 400 RMS D block mono amplifer?
  2. So i have a Pioneer GM-D8604 4 channel amplifier. 2 channels are setup to my front component speakers and the other 2 channels are bridged for my subwoofer. heres the specs for my amplifier 4-channel car amplifier 100 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms (150 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms) 125 watts RMS x 4 at 1 ohm 300 watts RMS x 2 bridged at 4 ohms (250 watts RMS x 2 bridged at 2 ohms) Im almost positive that my subwoofer is bridged at 4 ohms. not sure how to tell exactly? any easy way to check? but also, my subwoofer is meant for 4 ohm. so id assume its been wired properly, since it seems to be working fine. and my subwoofer is the rockford fosgate P1 punch 12 inch. "Rockford Fosgate P1-1X12 Punch P1 12" ported enclosed subwoofer" its specs for RMS are "power handling: 50-250 watts RMS" so it seems that the amp is set to be good at 250 RMS and so is the subwoofer. i recently turned the gains on the amplifer for my subwoofer, all the way up. because the subwoofer wasnt playing very loud before. so i also found that fading the speakers to the rear a slight bit, allows for me to turn the volume louder on the headunit, which in turn makes the subwoofer play louder. because without fading to the rear, the front speakers are much louder and it hurts how loud it gets, in order to get the subwoofer loud. cause the rear speakers are still stock speakers, and run off the headunit, so they are lower in volume. im mainly wondering, how can i tell if i am clipping the amp/subwoofer. and how can i tell if its being driven too hard so it may overheat? i think im more worried about clipping the subwoofer/amp. thanks!
  3. Warning, very inappropriate language. can just watch video without volume.
  4. lol them jokes im still wondering what sport he was talking about!? :] just found this t shirt that has LED EQ lights that change when music is played on sale for 9 bucks. says to hand wash it, and the lights are attached by velcro to remove before washing. pretty neat, but i wouldnt buy it lol http://www.handhelditems.com/led-equalizer-sound-activated-luminescent-t-shirt-with-detachable-panel-white-large-id-127377.html
  5. some volleyball players are hot. one on left, huge booty what sport or person are you referring to though? :] and well this, shes cute, but very fit you know
  6. ok thanks. the rattling stops when i press a finger against the plastic door panel where the grated holes are, where the sound comes out. i dont want to cover those holes with foam. so i was thinking the rattles are coming from around it? so i was thinking of placing foam around the circular area, but allow the opening to not be covered.
  7. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Frost-King-E-O-1-1-4-in-x-7-16-in-x-10-ft-Black-High-Density-Rubber-Foam-Weatherstrip-Tape-R516H/100090883 or http://www.homedepot.com/p/MD-Building-Products-1-2-in-x-10-ft-Gray-High-Density-PVC-Foam-Weatherstrip-Tape-02311/100166566 its a thin strip, but either 1/2 inch or 1/4 inch thick. i think its nice because its got tape on one side to stick. i am just trying to stop the rattle in my car door. and looking for something cheap and basic. m5 said CCF. i think these are a type of CCF? they are not marketed for use in a car, but i think it could work? just the midbass in my door panel causes rattles. so i think i should place this foam around the inside plastic panel to stop the rattling? or is there some other good product thats better? or should i not even try to use this type of foam tape? thanks! edit: found this too, looks legit, i would just have to cut it up a bit. but its 2 inches thick... not sure if thats too thick? but it also says this lol... ummm "Important notice regarding flammability - all polyurethane foams including combustion modified foams will burn and generate smoke and gases; not to be used as acoustical foam" http://www.homedepot.com/p/Future-Foam-2-in-Thick-Multipurpose-Foam-10030BULK2/203837080 and i would get some velcro stips like this http://www.homedepot.com/p/VELCRO-brand-4-in-x-2-in-Industrial-Strength-Strips-2-Pack-90199/202261921 also when reading about this, i guess theres a big difference between "rattles" and "vibrations"? rattles are causes by two surfaces touching each other and vibrations are from the sound? now im not exactly sure which it is lol...
  8. derp me. thanks yea lol.... i should have checked it further but just wanted to ask just in case. im too cautious sometimes. i didnt see any screws so i thought it was just one piece. but i gently tried to unscrew the back part of the tweeter and sure enough it was inside a case. and i think it really is a new tweeter! so happy i finally got it in. ive been listening to music with no tweeter on right side. not sure if its the new tweeter or just cause ive been used to not having a tweeter. but holy shit am i extremely glad i got the tweeter back. honestly feels like a whole new system after spending around 9 days without the tweeter! since last tuesday morning, till late today, thursday of the next week. at first when i took out the tweeter i knew it sounded different but i didnt realize how much different it sounded until i reinstalled the tweeter. honestly makes a HUGE difference. a good one :] so tomorrow i shall check some things like swapping the polarity. checking out time alignment again. honestly time alignment is very difficult for me to notice and change around... but i feel like it could have a great benefit. and ill look around for some what to get just a bit of CCF like was suggested. i want something cheap but im sure quality and price are related even with CCF. and i think ill need some velcro to attach it thanks again to all who have helped me !
  9. got the replacement tweeter! about to install it. but it looks quite different than the tweeter i sent in. the tweeter i sent in looks the same as my other tweeter. but this replacement seems different. im thinking its just a casing around the tweeter thats making it look different.... but because i didnt do my own installation in the first place i am unsure if the shop took the casing apart when installing the tweeter. heres a manual of my speaker and tweeter online. the tweeter image looks like the casing comes off. so i am trying to figure out how to take the casing off without damaging the tweeter? and ill upload photos of my tweeter i got in the mail. and the tweeter that i shipped back. the first image is the tweeter i sent back. the second image is the tweeter i got in the mail as the replacement

  12. if only commercials in america were like this lol
  13. ok thanks, ill check it out. yea mine shuts off like 3 or 4 times, but all within a short time. then i may go like 2 weeks before it happens again. super weird. so its almost not often enough for me to worry, but its at that borderline amount where i do worry a bit lol
  14. thanks. i almost always play music from my aux cord to my phone. but im trying to remember if i may have once had a cd in and if the songs started from where it shut off when using a cd. i think it may have but yea, it definitely saves the presets. never had it reset them. ehhh electrical gremlim, lets hope not lol. ok thanks. ill take a look into checking behind the headunit. to be honest, i didnt install the headunit. in order to take the headunit out to check, would i also have to pry off the plastic parts surrounding the headunit? id assume theres several parts i would have to remove in order to take the headunit out? where would the crimp connector be installed? behind the headunit? not exactly sure what a crimp connector is? like this? if so ive seen these on my tweeter connecting to the crossover, i thought they were pre installed on my tweeter? And of course i would disconnect the negative terminal at my car battery!
  15. So ive had this issue for awhile now. my headunit is Alpine CDE-164BT id say around 4 months ago, i first noticed this issue my headunit would randomly shut off for one second, then power back on. when it would turn on, its as if i just turned my car on, it displays the alpine logo and then starts to work again. the good thing is, its always turned back on right away. but the weird thing is, its extremely random? like when it has this issue, it will normally turn off around 4 or 5 times within 10 minutes. but, these random instances only happen maybe once every 2 or 3 weeks. from what ive been told and heard, it seems i would need to check several things in order to solve this issue. but at the same time, it would be very difficult to tell if the issue has been solved, since this doesnt happen very often. like if i change something, and then ill have to wait a whole month before i can be sure that the issue was resolved or not. So as of now, im just worried about it causing a greater issue if i leave it alone for now? My question is, is it probably safe to ignore the issue till it either gets worse or just stays the same? is it possible this issue will cause damage to my headunit or other parts in my system? or more than likely its a minor issue and it may be fine if i just leave it alone for now? i know it sounds lazy, but its not a huge issue, yet it is quite annoying when it happens. its just my fear for my lack of skills with this versus the importance of fixing the issue seems to lean towards much more effort involved. but if its a huge risk, then i will attempt to fix it. thank you!
  16. there was a time when newspapers were read on toilets but now we pull out phone and search medication info for our poop issues or play some mobile games while taking a dookey lol

  20. my immediate thought was what... you think trump cares about people? and then i considered it for a second... meh maybe he might yea. but its a big maybe. you see how it acts so arrogant and as if he is above all those who go against his way of thought. i dont like hilary at all really. but i also dont like trump much. yea he may have ideals that are hard to implement, but at least hes a better person than the other 2 morons
