  1. Does anybody have any good detailing tips, or products, to get professional results? I detail high end show cars, as well as daily drivers, and I'm always looking for that next best thing to come along. Right now I'm currently using the Greot's Garage, best of show, and boss system, to leave my customers cars with that wet concourse finish. I also use their black shine tire and trim spray to leave all the plastic, and rubber parts, shining better then new. Believe it or not, but you can actually improve a brand new car inside and out with the proper techniques, and products.
  2. I have heard the icon's and xcon's but not the rest of SSA's subs. I was really impressed with the xcon's it was 2 15's in a trunk on a sundown 3k and they where doing work for sure. Poor car had shit falling off every where, and the system actually sounded pretty good sq wise. You don't see them a lot where I'm at unless you go to a big show that's where I saw those. Around here it's a lot of Memphis, JL, kicker, Fosgate, and DC for some reason. I got some DD subs a few years back and had to order factory direct cause there wasn't a dealer within 500 miles of me but they gave me a really good deal I paid well below MSRP.
  3. I wouldnt count on that saving your amp. I never wire below recommended, unless it's a burp vehicle where you can adjust for rise playing sign waves.
  4. Will the Zcons take 5k daily? Ain't that double there RMS?
  5. Some nice L.E.D rope stapled to the wood would work good. And there pretty cheap now a days.
  6. Am I wrong or does it have a rough texture, like a garage floor coating? Glad you went with my suggestion it looks great either way, but I usually wet sand, and buff it to a mirror like shine, but that's just me nothing wrong with how you done it either. I do love the way that curffed port looks that's cool. Would look really awesome with some neon lights in the back of that port lighting it up all shiny.
  7. Yea in a extended cab truck I like the speaker facing the floor on the passenger side and the port firing straight up right beside the side window if there is one.
  8. Easy for you maybe, but might as well be going to the moon for some of us. Lmao
  9. Yes I just want a cheap one $20-50 bucks just to let me know if the status qou has changed. I guess I'm gonna get one of those stinger meters and wire it up to my amp so I can see what it's getting after the 2 battery's. I looked at that usainvolt and it's to rich for my blood right now anyways.
  10. Really! Wow 151db is impressive no doubt, especially on that small amount of power, well small these days. I know SSA makes killer subs, I just didn't think the gcon had that big of a magnet, on the site it looks really little but in this pick I can see that it's really a lot bigger then I thought. Now it's got me wondering just how big the Zcons and Evil's are in person.
  11. I didnt thing the gcon's where that beefy. On the sight the magnets look tiny but on your picture they actually look pretty big.
  12. I just want to keep a eye on my voltage. I'm right on the line of maybe having to much wattage for stock electrical. Stock with a second battery in the trunk I should say but I haven't done the big 3 or 4 and I'm on stock alt to. I think I'm ok I never have shut downs or to much light dimming just want something cheap to keep a eye on it. If I get to much voltage drop I might add a high output alt but don't think I will need to.
  13. Who makes a decent volt meter that isn't a $100+ dollars.(No SMD) I'm gonna order one soon, and just looking for opinions on who makes a decent meter. What are you guys using, and has anyone used the stinger meter are they decent? Or the 99 cent ones on eBay are they even worth the trouble to hook up?
  14. Is this just a burp vehicle? I only ask cause I see your wired down to .5ohm. And if not how do those ampere amps do at .5ohm do they get hot, shut down, or draw a lot of current?
  15. Yea looks good to me of course I'm not their but from the picks it looks like a hell of a build.
  16. Yes it's Valspar high gloss laquer in a can and also clear in a can. And yes you will need to primer it before paint after you have speckled the wood. Just do a bunch of thin coats that's what gives it that deep shine I usually end up with 5-10 coats just depends on how thick they are. I was trying to upload picks of the stuff but it keeps saying error for some reason.
  17. I like the rims are those after market? And also that's a badass system. What are you using for a front stage?
  18. A fellow dodge fan all right! They may not be as refined or reliable as German cars but they are good for cheap horsepower.
  19. I looked at the bottle, and it's called griot's garage complete compound, and complete polish, and it say it can be applied by hand. It's about $12 bucks a bottle, but it is by far the best stuff I have ever used. I use almost all griot's products when I detail cars, and people say they actually look better then they did new. Plus when your done you can save the leftover to buff out your ride.
  20. Yes I use Valspar high gloss black, then just any clear will work, and I use 400 grit to start with, then after many coats of paint, I use 1400 grit to smooth it out. You want to do like 5-6 thin coats, to give it that deap shiny look. Then after I have all the paint, and clear done, I polish it just like you would a car. Polish, then a good wax if you want to really make it pop, and hide any imperfections. I use Greot's garage all in one correcting cream, and a orbital buffer, but I got a detail shop so I already have the stuff, but you can do it by hand just fine, just takes longer.
  21. Definetly one of the best at having sound quality, and being able to get down when you want, for the money.
  22. Is this your setup, if so how does the zed amp push those xcon's?
  23. I use Greot's all in one buffing compound, then after its all done I use their best of show paist wax to really make it pop. The most important thing is getting all the edges sealed really good, cause wood is porous and will just drink the paint, if it's not sealed good. Plus after you start wet sanding the paint, it would be really bad if any water made its way into the wood.
  24. I like to use Valspar high gloss and sand it and clear coat it then polish it to a mirror shine. Black always looks awesome done that way it shines like a grand piano if done correctly. You will need some spackling to put a thin layer on the whole thing before the paint and clear. And the better the surface before paint the better the results.
