  1. Well in that case yes you probably wouldn't benefit a thing until you get another matching amp and sub. But when you do get 2 evil's going on 2 sundown 3k's I bet it will be nasty. I'm in the same boat I have 2 sundown team 12's being powered by a crescendo 3500bc and I need a hole lot more power. I'm thinking of selling this crescendo and getting 2 ampere 3500's.
  2. Yea I probably wouldn't run .5 either, but if he can run at 1ohm with both subs I would do that, but we don't know which impedance evil he has, so we can't say. Personally when I'm building a system one piece at a time, I always end up getting 2 subs before I get 2 amps. But that's usually what I have planned out so the impedance works out. I usually start wired higher then leave my final impedance at where my max wattage is.
  3. Well we consider any place that was in the confederate army a southern place. And what about Florida it's below all those states and redneck as hell.
  4. Your right he couldn't my bad, I didn't think that one through, but he could go a tad lower, or higher. .5ohm, or 2 ohm. Either way another sub will give him more DB as long as he doesn't wire the load higher like from 1ohm to a 2 ohm load.
  5. If the seller want let you test the stuff I wouldn't mess with it cause you have no way of knowing if it's any good. If he knows it to be a good battery he should have no problem riding to a local parts place and having it checked and doing the deal there. I have used some of my friends stuff from his huge wall builds and it don't last no time they beat that stuff to death. Some of this stuff has a short life span and isn't worth the hassle of buying used unless it's just a incredible deal like 1/5th the price.
  6. Well the SSA Evils only come in dual 1, dual 2, so either way he can still wire it to the same impedance, and gain 3 db using a second sub, or wire it lower and gain even more power and cone area. Then later on he can add the second amp he talked about, and be some where around 6db higher, with double the power and double the subs.
  7. Yea yea I know I missed the n and hit the m I am using a iPhone and my old ass arthritic fingers misses some times forgive me.
  8. Doesn't matter about impedance, I'm saying on the same power adding another speaker will gain him 3db. Yes if he wires it lower assuming he can, that would also help and give him more power, at the expense of efficiency.
  9. Well more come area but deffinetly not a huge increase but some.
  10. You could go ahead and get the other evil it will be slightly louder on the same power with 2 subs instead of 1.
  11. Yea my nephew just graduated from, Nashville auto and diesel tech school, and he spent 20k on a tool box, and another $20k to fill it, but man is it some nice stuff. Snap on ain't cheap, but you know what they say, good ain't cheap, and cheap ain't no good! It was part of his tuition money.
  12. Nice box wish I had better wood working tools but I spent all my funds on steel working tools are car detailing tools.
  13. I'm in the Appalachian mountains, of eastern Kentucky. They make a lot of movie about the next county over, Harlen. The show Justified on FX is based on it. Ashley Judd is from here to, I actually detailed her Range Rover one time when she visited the local college. She even gave me a $100 dollar tip, and it was barely dusty from being pulled behind her motor home.
  14. Well I'm in the south so battery's do tend to do better in warmer climates.
  15. Wow your batts only lasted a year? Did you not charge them when not in use or did you just leave them dead cause ours have all lasted for 3-5 years on average. And we used to fish a lot at least 6 months out of the year so they had a lot of cycles on them. The comp battery in my avenger is 3 years old and still has great voltage. And it sets a lot.
  16. Dang man you are having all kinds of issues with your system I feel bad for you paying all that money then them screwing it up I hate stuff like that.
  17. Do you also do them in smooth fiberglass painted?
  18. I didn't change nothing you just have a problem understanding simple English so I cleared some things up for you. And you have no room to be talking about how other people sound have you read some of your old comments to other posters your rude as shit and very disrespectful and not just to moods your rude to other engineer's like Tony who is actually successful and doesn't drive a busted ol Chevy with some used JL in it. Ow wait you replaced those with some tiwan amps right my bad. I can spot a hater when I hear one.
  19. Nope but I can read and I'm gonna assume if it says it has 4volts of pre out and it's a decent brand it's probably close. I know when I changed from 2 volts to 4 volts I had to turn my gains down a quarter of a turn so seems to me there real close anyways.
  20. That last sentence sounds exactly like what I said. If a sub is rated at a 1k watts RMS and you run a 1200 watt amp with the gain turned down slightly then your subs will get all the clean power to reach there limit without clipping or distortion which will help both components. See you always suggest I'm saying or implying something I'm not then word what I'm saying differently to come out to mean the same damn thing. Let me take a guess here your a 40 something year old man who has no wife no kids no life and still lives with his mother. You where probably fired from your last job for arguing with the boss that even though he was in charge you where smarter and there for he should respect your authority. So you set back watching guys like Tony D'Amore get filthy rich and bang hot women while you come on SSA to insult and demean noobs so you can stroke your ego and feed your need to feal superior cause you got a degree in which thousands of others have also. It also sounds like your compensating for something like a little tiny short coming. Have I pretty much hit the nail on the head? Go ahead and tell us all how wise and great you are it's been almost 5 minutes since you told someone.
  21. Yea sorry man M5 just took a dump in one of my threads so I couldn't resist the payback but I do appolagize to you. But honestly unless your running thousands and thousands of dollars worth of equipment it's kind of overkill. But on the other hand if you are a serious audiophile with a $10k+ system then it can be a useful tool.
  22. I would talk there Mr clipping can't kill subs. You have no problem talking to others like dirt but get testy when your treated the same way. The word Hypocrite comes to mind. You was no where in the other thread until you came in all high and mighty to correct me and put words in my mouth and insinuate I meant things I didn't so I decided to repay the favor.
  23. Honestly that amp isn't strong enough to blow those subs at any setting but running it wide open can over heat it and mess it up. Most small amps like that I have ever set up at that input voltage where always set at half or 3/4 the way up on gain. Now some of my higher end stuff where i was running more then the rms of the sub with 2-4volt pre-out I always ended up using 1/4-1/2 of the gain. Obviously this is just a rough estimate but I'm just giving you a idea of where it might end up. But the best way is to pick the loudest hardest hitting song you will ever play on your system, yes we all have that one song and use it to adjust your gain like me and a couple of other guys already said "by ear". You will be perfectly fine doing it that way.
  24. Definetly don't need a scope if your like M5 and just buy a NVX and turn the gains and bass boost to 100% and say yep distortion sounds good and can't blow subs anyways cause my amp doesn't have enough power to push cheap tweeters much less a actual big boy sub.
