  1. LOL i dont think he has a budget, meaning price doesnt matter. Maybe he doesnt want to return them..maybe he likes those speakers. Not everyone wants to pay for restocking fees/returning fees if they like what they have. why not give some helpful information....
  2. good to know! Thanks! any cons about this sub?? Also, how do you think they will handle in a smaller enclosure?
  3. I am using 2 15's right now in my truck, they are a good solid driver for sure. I run 1500 to 1600 watts to each of the Mayhems, I daily drive it that way and have never had any problems. You can put a lot more to them of course but i daily drive a 153 on that amount of power. So I do recomend these subs. they are very loud at very low hz. wow, thats awsome. How big is the enclosure?? These sound like the subs I'm looking for...
  4. I heard about the S.M.D. sub coming out, talked to someone @ Ascendant Audio already and its being released sometime in October. any specs on that?
  5. hey everybody, I was just wondering if people on this board have used them before...any feedback, pros/cons about these subs? I will be using them ~30hz, mostly musical (daily use) and some competitions. Just would like some hands on info about them... Thanks, Andrew
  6. you should probably look into getting an irragi or DC power alternator. And as for the battery, I'd get another one in the back..perhaps an HC2400 made by Kinetik
  7. I didn't mean exactly louder...I meant quality wise, which one is capable of being "louder", or handling more power without compromising the sub(s). I've heard a lot of people are using the BTL's and are tuning the box to 34+hz after displacement...I was looking for a sub to play ~30hz after displacement
  8. thanks for the reply Nick. I wasn't knocking FI or anything because I've heard great things and also have seen amazing work. I'm just not sure if FI's are the way to go for what I want in the end...
  9. any other input on the DD, Orion, or RE subs?
  10. 2 12" BTLs? I was talking with a few people and they're using 3cuft of space for a 15" BTL...wouldnt I be able to use 2 15s? and also...like i said before I haven't received any replies from FI in a long time so im not sure if i want to use them here in canada...
  11. yes, my car is like that one. Thats a buddy of mine in the UK, Richard. I find its weird that I haven't heard back from anyone at FI either...I hear so many great things about their customer service yet I havent gotten a reply back. I'll try e-mailing him again. Thanks! As for the HCCA's, I've heard many good things about the 08 models, but haven't heard anything about their 09 models...any input? Thanks, Andrew
  12. My setup right now hit a 145.9 @ 40hz on the windshield. I want to be as loud as I can be keeping my backseats in, therefore having around 7-8.5 cuft(before displacement). The only thing thats not attracting me to the BTL's is the fact that I can't get any response from Fi.
  13. Amps, I'm not sure yet, all depends on how much power I will be needing for the subs. As for electrical, the Big 3 is done, 2 HC2400's in the trunk and 1 HC1400 under the hood.
  14. hey everybody, I've been debating over some time what my next set-up should be. Right now I have 6 JBL GT5-10s in the trunkspace of my Golf. I'm looking for something louder; I'm thinking of 2 15s...I have around 7-8cu-ft to use. I want something that will shake the ground, not buzz the ears. So I'm looking to tune them around 28hz. I've been looking at the Fi BTL's but I have never received any e-mails back from anyone there for over 5 months... any body have any ideas as to what sub I should look into? Some that have crossed my mind are: :: Orion HCCA :: AudioPulse LMS-Ultra :: RE Audio XXX :: DD 9500 series anyone have any other suggestions? Also, I'm in Canada, so shipping charges are usually rediculous.... Thanks, Andrew
  15. mannnnnn this is awful for Canadians right now. Living in Canada, i was hoping to start buying things for my new setup but this Canadian dollar is really slowing me down! with the price of shipping + item = rediculous. I hope the Canadian dollar goes up sometime soon so i can start buying equipment at a reasonable price
  16. i did read the noob thread and i gave you all the details that were posted in there...
  17. somehow i saw that comming lol so any advice?
  18. lol thanks... anyways, this is going to be a winter project so nothing has been purchased yet and im running on stock interior speakers. I'm planning on upgrading 2...or all 4 drivers inside the car. Right now im driving an '03 VW Golf GTI. Right now the car has 6.5s all around along with 4 tweeters. I've decided that I will be going with a 15" BTL powered by a Sundown 3000. As far as interior goes, I've heard JL's, Massive's, Kicker's, Polk Audio's, etc...the only problem is that most of them were heard on a wall in a store. I'm not so much on a budget as i am trying to find a good deal or the right price for equipment. I would like to get a set or 2 of components for inside the car...as for brands im not exactly sure. I'd like something to be musical and not harsh on the ears with the BTL beating. I'm planning on doing the install myself, with the help of a few others that are also have knowledge in this field.
  19. so what are some companies to keep an eye out for? what companies would you recommened?
  20. ahh good to know so in YOUR opinion, what do you guys recommend as a front stage setup...I'm planning on running a 15" BTL...so something that would some good with 2500-3000 watts....
  21. ah true, but what about people sitting in the backseats?? heh
  22. what makes them useless? I can understand in a trunk'd car since the speakers are facing upwards...but in a hatchback they are facing towards the backseats.
  23. would swapping the rear comps for a nice set of aftermarket comps be worth it in a hatchback?
  24. what about a hatchback?
  25. thats because i was not able to hear them at their full potential. They were in a wall in a store when i heard them.
