  1. You probably won't need it. Unless you listen to a lot of baroque organ pieces. There's simply not that much there in mainstream music below 30Hz.

Being unemployed and moving with a new girlfriend probably had something to do with that...

Well, got about one half of a BIB built today.
  4. Out of those, I'd go with the Sundown. Both Hifonics are of dubious quality...
  5. No speaker has ever been destroyed by "underpowering". None. Zilch. Nada. Squat. Go tell that to my Klipsch Forte II's that I was running, had them for two years and mysteriously never blew them with only 8 watts to a 100W-rated speaker...hmm Likewise with distortion, if the signal is under the thermal rating...assuming the thermal rating is accurate...no harm, no foul. Clipping is only dangerous when the average thermal energy exceeds the rating...no mystery there, notice a pattern?. You can run a very low powered amp into full clipping and have a sub take it. Wouldn't be very pleasant to listen to. The last two you mentioned are mechanical issues that I'll agree with.
  6. R.E.M - Driver 8 / Billy Joel - She's Always a Woman to Me
  7. While B&C is a step in the right direction, I wouldn't run drivers like that in a vehicle. Running a midbass that's meant to be horn loaded in a door gets you nothing. Stick with drivers with more normal enclosure parameters, like Seas or Vifa midbasses. Maybe you can cram 8's in there?
  8. Audiocontrol makes a good one. Pretty sure the 6XS is their basic 3-way without EQing or anything.
  9. Dylan - My Back Pages / Zeppelin - In The Evening // Neil Young - Revolution Blues /// Pink Floyd - The Final Cut
  10. Go active, problem solved. Not like you've got a lack of amplifiers over there.

People who don't bother to email you when they're supposed to annoy me. Absolutely no courtesy anymore...
  12. Maybe if he was brutally honest three years ago I wouldn't feel the way I do now Is he being brutally honest about the Tang Band issue
  13. Hiring the village idiot as the public face of the company didn't get them too many points...
  14. If they've changed their act, OK...but they're still questionable to me. Too many question marks in the last couple years.

Putting some speaker enclosures together, going to a football game, finishing off the alcohol I have in my freezer, not in any particular order.

Wait, Aaron's complaining about acceleration? Want to switch vehicles for a week?
  19. It's quite literally how the system reproduces what's happening on stage. If the singer is right in the center, close to the mic, the system should reproduce that accurately. If there's a saxophone slightly to the left of her, well, the system should do that too. This is why listening to high end stuff can be useful, it's helpful when you know for a certain recording what it's supposed to sound like. I'm starting to wish that the "SQL" word filter be taken off, 99.9% of the people who use it aren't using it correctly, true Loud Sound Quality has very little to do with getting the subs loud. Yes, you need to have subwoofer(s) to play reference levels accurately without distorting, but getting your front stage to play that loud without distorting, and with correct spatial placing is a lot harder. I think a lot of people think that LSQ just means you can hear the words over the bass...which isn't true at all.
  20. Bass boost should be off anyway. Just turn the gains down.
  21. No offense to you at all, but I've seen CD players that have more substantial electronics than that
  22. Out of those choices, it'd be between the Eclipse and the Arsenal, for me.
  23. I heard a setup using Audiopipe amps a few years back, both the amps and subs weren't something I'd use if I were given them for free.

I need to get the name of that other sauce he had, not the mango one, the other kinda-hot one. 'Twas good.
