There's your problem. Seal off the trunk like a proper IB install...all the usable trunk space you'd want, and the frequency response would kill a ported box, no comparison. How do you know what the potential output is when you don't have an install that shows what they can do

Since you want to go active, I'd stay away from receivers...a pair of Adcom or similar amps should be pretty cheap to find, and the market is flooded with good quality preamps. If this is for home theater, why not five channels?

What you're looking for is mutually exclusive. Actual LSQ involves more than just a sub. What else do you have?

No, it's not. Just because there's hosted manufacturer forums here doesn't mean that all the discussion in the general sections has to be about those manufacturers. As to your question, I don't have any personal experience with the Ov.2, I have an e12a but I got disillusioned real fast with eD after that. Image Dynamics builds a solid driver, it should hold up to responsible use. Don't expect miracles out of it.
