Not set up for SPL at all.- Welcome to the IHoP
this guy is a fruit cake. I pwn him by 10dB in a vehicle terrible for SPL, with only 3.5 times as much cone area, with a non SPL driver, and half the power in a more daily tuned box. 137 is TERRIBLE with 1kw...he has 2kw. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I did a 137.1 outlaw with slightly under 1.5 times the cone area, with 250 watts, at nine ohms- e12a is a beast

What'd he do that number with? The number's only half the story...well, a third of the story- US Amps Schematics
the words "trade secret" just scream at me. Maybe you can contact US Amps and find and authorized repair shop on your side of the pond, but I find it hard to believe they'd just let schematics out there to anybody who asked. But I could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Trade secret, blah Only in car audio would a company feel this paranoid- Welcome to the IHoP
Note - This is BULLSHIT. Anyway, I'm stuck here for today.- Welcome to the IHoP

Boob-cone Solo's? Man, if those were in good condition...would be very cool drivers- Welcome to the IHoP
Had another friend with an A'bahn AWT12X running off a JBL BP1200.1, which is about the worst amp to adjust if you're upside down in a trunk and trying to adjust the gains. That thing got decently loud, though...sounded like absolute ass, but was alright for a fart machine.- Welcome to the IHoP
When I was going to HS, the common thing was JL W0's. A friend of mine had the loudest system with three 10W0's in a sealed enclosure, powered by a PG Tantrum 500.2 - in a Subaru wagon. I think he felt bad when I came back my senior year with the same amp he had running his subwoofers, powering my front stage I was really the only serious competition he had as far as subs go. Man...those were the days when I didn't think sound deadening was worth it, and the install didn't matter as much- Welcome to the IHoP

You don't really "tune" a TL to Fs, if you did that, you'd just have a bass reflex enclosure tuned to the Fs of the driver... What the TL does is reverse the phase of the rear wave, which gets you the same effect, pretty much I assume you've read Martin King's website on this, he's the pimp when it comes to ML-TL's and their design...also hangs out on DIYAudio.- McIntosh
Every time a piece of Mac gear comes up on Audiogon or Ebay, all the vultures move in and end up jacking the price beyond the realm of affordability (sp). It could have no tubes, a rusting chassis, missing an output transformer and catch fire and a MC 275 amp would still sell for $400. Just because of the name. You can't tell me they sound that much better vs. something home built, using a superior output topology (because Mac's aren't single ended), that was constructed for a fraction of the price? Doesn't have the name that makes people go "Ahhhhhh", though. - Welcome to the IHoP
