Welcome to the IHoP
Still haven't got them. It's been for the better ... keeping the stereo out of the car for a couple weeks, I mean. Had to haul around a few things and didn't want to have to drive a truck just for that. So no worries. Perhaps I'll just get some 4" PVC and run it without the flares. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I just ran a flare out my sphincter, holy mother does that smell bad. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> TCAB quality right there.

Rust repair/painting tips
My project for July...if it ever stops f'ing raining...is to repair the rust that's forming on the van's drip rail and at least put a coat of primer on it to prevent it from getting worse. I'm thinking I need to do the following - * Using masking tape/dropcloths, cover all the painted areas I don't want anything to get on. *Sand down the rusted/bubbled portions with heavy grit sandpaper * Spread some naval jelly on the rusted sections, on both sides of the rain gutter...sand this lightly off when dry down to bare metal. * Prime * Color coat Any tricks or things I'm forgetting? Like I said, I'm a finish/bodywork n00b...don't need this to look showroom quality, but rust on a white vehicle doesn't look too attractive either.

Welcome to the IHoP
Tomorrow, it's time for the nice Jim to go bye-bye. My certified check was supposedly sent out Monday via overnight mail, it's Thursday evening and still no sign of it. I already got in touch with the Seattle police department, I filled out a NSF check form that they had...if it's not here by 2PM tomorrow, I call them and get my money. Either they Paypal it to me or the police collect it from them, I don't care one way or the other. I guess they really want their business name dragged through the mud over this...

VIP styling my car
Not a fan of black wheels on a white car...but that's just IMO.

VIP styling my car
I think a set of new wheels would really accent it, but make sure it goes with the rest of the car...meaning anything over 18" or so would look silly. And I'd probably stay away from chrome as well. Ride height doesn't look too bad, and it looks very clean overall. If the paint was in worse condition I'd say get it changed to a darker color, an MB like that would look very sharp in black with gray trim, but it looks good the way it is. Thank you for not going over to CYV with this, nothing wrong with us here

Sounds like it gets the traffic of Forceaudio People's post counts there can be counted in posts per year...but it's the creme-de-la-creme, the people that really know which end of the soldering iron not to touch I think AudioAsylum and Decware both have a reasonable amount of activity...post a question, usually in an afternoon you'll have a response or two. Although it doesn't move at anywhere near the clip of CA.com or this place when it's really going.

Welcome to the IHoP
Guitar Center said they'd give me a call back to find out if they can order a '1200MK2...they're authorized Technics dealers, what's the problem with special ordering one of the most popular things in their model line? Grrr...but at least I talked with someone who had half a clue this time. And I'm getting ready to send a letter to the WA BBB and the Seattle police dept. if I don't get my certified check by today. I was told it went out overnight on Monday, even giving it a day's grace because of the 4th it should be here by today. Fraud is fraud, and I'm going to get my $700 back.

Elias - EH isn't too bad, they have a tendency to be microphonic but we'll see. I probably wouldn't have bought those given the choice. But those Mullards are British made NOS's, primo tubes Oldschool - I think I have the original, plain old Shiva version...light oak finish. The Shiva had the standard foam gasket around the front, while the DPL looked a little more "finished", right? I know the baskets were different, but I haven't pulled out the driver to check.

OK...picture time. First, we have the leftovers from the TSX show... Chad's bright yellow banana. Aiiiieee! The camera will steal my souuuuul! Note Rachel's look that says, "Tom is such an idiot..." Dave's wiring when we pulled out the Revo. Friends don't let friends use butt connectors. Dave = teh fired. Where's the positive lead for the outboard processor? Oh yeah, it's held together with electrical tape and dreams. Also visible is the Sundown Audio monoblock OK...Field Day 2006 stuff. The weather absolutely sucked, but at least we had cigars and beer, the cause was not all lost. The VHF antenna array, three elements on six meters with the top antenna for 2 meters. VHF propagation actually was pretty good. The Unified Command bus at night...this was about five minutes before the onboard generator blew a fuse and wouldn't start back up again for the rest of the night. Missed the AC For the past couple years, the local electric co-op has been kind enough to let us use a bucket truck over the weekend, as a mobile 40+ foot antenna support. Comes in real handy, though in an actual emergency we'd have to make do without it Some of the antennas. The scale is a little misleading - the mast on the left is 66 feet tall, it's a quarter-wave vertical for 80 meters. The smaller one is for the 10 meter band. Alright...new pics of the preamp. Toobz! And what's this, a remote? Werd. Now I wonder if a universal remote will work with this...hehe. The power supply is a seperate unit, so it doesn't take up space internally. Connects to the main chassis with a locking DIN plug. Two preamp outputs, so one goes to the monoblocks, the other goes to the low-level inputs on the Adire Rava instead of the high level inputs I had been using before. That's it...run along now...
