There may or may not be an external alternator ground, it could ground internally through the frame. Can you see where those two wires bolt to? Should be a common positive point...

If you're trying to reduce enclosure vibration, bracing the middle of the panel perpendicular to it is going to get far more of an improvement than simply mass loading the panels.
