Friend of mine is selling one of those. It's titties. Just in case you're clueless as to what it is, it's a semiautomatic Morse key, or a "bug". So named because if you're bad at sending with it, you sound like a chirping insect...instead of a regular code key where the length of time determines whether or not a dot/dash get sent, you move the lever one way for a dot, the other for a dash. It's unnatural as hell the first time you use one, but it's what the telegraph guys used to use to get 60+WPM reliably. But...my listening speeds aren't up to the point where I'd benefit from something like that I can send 25wpm fine, but if someone comes back to me at that speed, I'll scratch my head and wonder if he was giving me a signal report or cussing at me. F...UUUU....

I've noticed on one of the engineering buildings there's a VHF/UHF antenna array...looks like a 2 meter and 70cm Yagi, they've always been pointing directly vertical for as long as I've noticed... May have to ask about 'em, check out how badly they're corroded, if any...getting $300 worth of antennas for the price of some steel wool and a solvent bath is fine by me. I already have a decent 440MHz Yagi, but a 2 meter one would be nice...

There's a dude a couple of hours away from me selling a 1kW 2 meter amplifier...too bad it's $1300 I'm still kicking myself for not buying that 500W surplus AM transmitter in SC...if only I had the room for a six foot rack cabinet and 220VAC mains. If I kept it in NC, would have probably sat gathering dust.

I liked the 15" version when I had it... Of course, that was before the anodized RL-p's came out to the public, so I thought I was special... Think Nikuk sold it awhile ago.

well, it is 8PM... even though i need to get to sleep before midnight tonight, have to go to class tomorrow at all costs.

If you're spending that much on drivers, consider 18" moofers... Getting to reference-level volumes down low requires moving a lot of air, period. Genelex doesn't use four 18" drivers in their coffin-sized THX rated cabinets because they look pretty

I have no intention of ever buying one, but I'd be glad to listen to it for a while and see how it takes to swapping tubes...I'm sitting on a pile of new old stock triodes that would probably kick the stock tubes in the arse. If nothing else, would be a good way to kill an afternoon and get some pictures out of it.

Ryan... Would it be possible to go out on your own, or is that not feasible... Having that spunk is a definite asset as a small business owner...

Do you have more information about that? Because... I have a couple tubes I could roll in it...just a few...perhaps. I'm actually going to a hamfest/swapmeet next weekend (the 23rd), so if they have any cool NOS tubes, I'll pick up a few to try in the USAmps. I'm already going to be looking for 6EA7 octal triodes for the input stages of the SV811 monos...

Loans/mortgage chick over at the bank's put on some weight in the past few months...had to reactivate my debit card today. She used to have that really cute baby-face look, but she's gone about 10lbs. over what looks really hot to what looks...ehhh. Needs to be porked more regularly, certainly.
