Welcome to college. Doesn't surprise me...within a week we knew who the assbuckets were and who to chill out with. My roommate last year wasn't too bad, except for that screamo chit he used to play. But by the 2nd semester, I had the louder stereo, so that wasn't a problem I like not having a roommate this year

preamp porn. That's the underside shot. $300-400 can get you a table that does everything you need. Especially with vintage gear. The MMF-5 is probably the best value in new tables; it comes with so much for that price. I'll probably use a Radioshack phono preamp (which surprisingly gets good reviews from people, go figure) until I can afford something "hollow-state".

Might buy that and modify it a bit.

The phono preamp is going to take longer...might have to be a custom job as there's nothing commercial or DIY that does exactly what I'm looking for.

Order's going out this week, most likely...in a business day or two when my account gets updated.

The regular 8a? Or the 8a.x "super 8"? I can testify to the regular A series' prowess...love my 12
