  1. Festool Other than Hitachi they're the only green tools I know
  2. IMO, enclosure is king, bar none. I'm sitting here listening to 6.5" drivers that have less than 2mm of Xmax, and a relatively high Fs, with less power than a nightlight and they're strong down to 30Hz or so. The enclosure is the only thing doing that, if I put them in an open baffle or a small sealed box the bottom end would completely disappear.
  3. Even with an amp like a PG or JL Slash series, impedance rise will often go out of the range that the amp produces the same amount of power...I have a 9 ohm spike that I never would have found if I didn't have a clamp meter at the time The Tantrum 1200.1 definitely isn't going to make full power there...
  4. Jackson Browne - The Load Out
  5. FYI, 30-40Hz really isn't "low". 40Hz is actually on the upper end of what a sub should play

If any on that list are listenable, the Eagles' GH is probably it. Because let's face it, other than HFO I don't know of many of their albums that work cohesively as an album...
  7. You probably won't even need a kW per driver...

I'm confused...there's really no part of a tube that needs to be "wound", and the only guy crazy enough to hand-make them is that crazy Frenchman on Youtube Unless you're talking about something else...
  9. If you're talking about a tonneau cover, I wouldn't see a problem with it, when you said "wall" I was thinking of a full bed cap with no rearward visibility, which would be a big problem
  10. In a proper blowthrough, no part of the enclosure or cabin is exposed to the outside... That'd be a cool idea, but I wouldn't try it in anything short of a dedicated competition vehicle. Simply not worth it for something that gets driven on a regular basis.
  11. Go sealed. Two 18's in a low Qtc sealed enclosure will mean that the subs will barely have to move at all to get enough output for you...and you won't have any problem fitting them in.
  12. 30 cubes, I have more than that What are you trying to accomplish here? While I'm a huge fan of TQWT's for home use, in a vehicle for subbass there are better alternatives on either end of the SQ or SPL spectrum...
  13. Sealed-type setups don't always require a ton of power for them to sound great, IB being a good example And given the range of tuning frequencies given around here, "deeper" very well may be achieved in a sealed environment
  14. Someone on this forum is running a BTL with a kW or so, with excellent results at home Hoffman's Iron Law is an amazing thing

What.cd pissed me off, because they changed the ratio requirements on me and I couldn't seed fast enough to keep my account open. But the admins of STMusic gave us an invite to there anyway They did? All Power Users got one. And I was a PU at the time, I guess...not one now

A RAID array for the music server is the fall project, I've got a really general idea about RAID 0, 0+1, 5, etc...but on actually installing and running it I'm clueless right now. I'm thinking 2TB or so...heck, with the way single drives have gone up in volume, there might be a 2TB SATA drive by the fall But I wouldn't want that much data without some way to recover it...
  21. I'd just build a simple 6.5" two-way from Zaph or somewhere else. TV is not a demanding task at all. If I were you, though, I'd save the hassle of having two seperate systems in one room and just build something nice for both the TV and PC together.
  22. Believe me, the thought's crossed my mind
  23. Not in something smaller than a full-size cargo van, and even then a true TL for 2 18's would be pushing it.
