I just learned that I can hp my mids off of my h/u so I will be doing that rather than using an fmod. This is cheaper and IMO should be a better solution as it will allow for more flexibility. I will run one rca from the sub out to the nine1 and one rca to the next 2.400 from the h/u. then, since my h/u only has 2 rca outs I will daisy chain a shorter rca to the second next amp. This sound good? As for amps I am going to be getting a NEXT vr 2.200 and a NEXT vr 2.400. These amps are handmade in Italy in the audison factory and are supposed to be great. I will be using the crossovers they have for now, until I can upgrade my h/u to something along the lines of an eclipse 8454 or 8053. The vr 2.400 will power the eu650 mids at 160wx2 and the vr 2.200 will power the tw-24 tweets at up to 90wx2 rms, although they will obviously get nowhere near this. I guess thats all the ideas I have for now. What do you think? any coments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

eclipse 8454
IS 389 from an authorized dealer a good price on this thing? Actually, is it a great price? If it is an awesome price I might have to pick it up, but if its just a pretty good price then I think i'll pass. The reason is, I would have to call my godfather and he's in Italy. He'll get it for me for a bday present probably, but I dont want to bother him over an ok deal.

hate to break the news to you, but you still have to wait 4 weeks. The sub has to be made by tc, which is why there is a 4 week wait time. Picking it up wont really save you any money and you'll get it one day sooner at most. Shipping in socal is less than $10 and youll get it the next day. Plus, Im sure Mike will ship these out as soon as he gets them, so you are just as well off waiting for it to arrive in the mail.

at the moment I am just trying to keep it as low cost as possible with some awesome sq. Although I wont be gettin the most from it do you think it would still be better than passive?

The design of the 2 subs are very similar however the rl-p has several upgrades. The main differences (and possibly the only real differences) lie in the cone, spider/suspension, and possibly the surround. Kent or mike, chime in if I'm wrong or failed to mention soemthing. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> what else is left to make them the same?? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee <{POST_SNAPBACK}> AFAIK, the only change I see making a noticeable difference is the dual spider on the rl-p vs the single spider on the A. According to Mike it makes for a more "aggressive suspension." The cone and surround is so similar that I dont see it maing any difference and since it is the same buildhouse im not sure if the dual spider would make it a whole new sub rather than a nice upgrade. I think Mike needs to chime in here as he would know. I'm just speculating. Although, I do agree with Kent as far as getting the rl-p. At $200, you wil have no problem selling the rl-p d2.

Would going active with a 2way w/o an equalizer be as good or better than going passive in a regualr comp set though? I can do it for significantly less and I assumed it would work well. Fill me in if I'm wrong though.

I am thinking about getting a 4ch amp a set of mids and tweets and then running everything active. I'll probably get a next 4ch amp that 80rmsx 4 and then a pair of eD eu650 mids and possibly this lgm tweeter http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/in...2.15092&pid=635 The tweeter is supposed to be very similar to one used by jl and diamond on the original hex's that were made in germany. Total cost comes out to under 250 for everything. How do you guys think it would sound? Would everything work fine? Let me know of any recommendations you may have. Thanks. Eric

i hate it when people do ths to me. Though ican respect where you are coming from. I figure for $80 its gotta be fine. I'm thinking of getting the vrz 4.400 and running a comp set active. Maybe a set of eD eu650 mids (basically cdt hd's for a fraction as much) and then some stellar tweet. I heard about this lgm tweet that is supposed to be very similar to the one on the older diamond hex's that were made in germany.

i could lie to you and tell you it is 100x better In reality though, they should be pretty similar. the rl-p is no doubt an upgrade over the ae, though I'm not sure its that noticeable of one. The design of the 2 subs are very similar however the rl-p has several upgrades. The main differences (and possibly the only real differences) lie in the cone, spider/suspension, and possibly the surround. I would say that the rl-p is more refined though both are nice. Kent or mike, chime in if I'm wrong or failed to mention soemthing.

Anyone ever heard of next amplifiers or have any experience with them? I can get them for really cheap and they appear to be pretty decent. I know of someone blowing out a large inventory of amplifiers and speakers. If you go to: http://www.audiohaus.com/produkte/i...rodukte&marke=8 you will find the company. There are links to see the full catalog as well. The prices shown are in Euros since this is a European product line (multiply by 1.3 for US dollars). his prices are 90% off the retail for speakers and 80% off for the amplifiers. heres some more info with pics. http://www.fiamm.com/en/3/prod.php/22;225 There is another line he has that is not up on the website called the vrz line which is supposed to be their high end line of amps. I can get the vrz4.400 which is 4x82w rms or the vrz2.400 which is 160w x2 rms for $85 + shipping. These are manufactured in italy by audison. Does anyone have any information on these or audison? Thanks Eric

zapco I'm not seeing much comparison here <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry, I should've stated JBL/Crown. Make a difference now? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> if its the crown amp, then I would go that direction, so many nice features, what one are you comparing? JBL/Crown 5001. vs the Zapco Ref 500.1? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Um. BPX2200.1 versus the Reference 1100.1 Power output is not what Im concerned about. Just looking for opinions. The JBL is actually cheaper than the Ref. and the C2Ks I cannot find for a decent price even used, so they are out of the question. I really really want to try Zapcos, but the JBL is kinda on it's way already. Who knows. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> how much can you get the jbl for? I just checked and the msrp is $1600

zapco I'm not seeing much comparison here <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry, I should've stated JBL/Crown. Make a difference now? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yes, but I dont know enough about the jbl/crown to give you an educated answer. I'll still say zapco for the hell of it though.
