Regal Doorpod Glassin' (pics)
Fleeced and resined, sanded and installed. I am still going to Bondo them and cover them in either vinyl or suede... I also have to build a cover patch for the small area above the doorpods... should be pretty simple.. (some MDF and some fabric)... Enjoy the pics... Added another layer of resin.. See the gap?? I will probably fill it in with a small piece of MDF and covered in vinyl, probably with the DLS logo embossed into it or something.....I've got some ideas..

smoking is a definite no go. IMO it looks incredibly tacky on bimmers. I am planning on getting the hella led teillights that came stock on the 01+ 5er's. They are very pricey though and I am going to pay off as much of this car as possible before I begin modding seriously. Though, with any luck, expect some noticeable changes ina month or so. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> hmmm. well in your pic they look pretty dark, I think it looks pretty neat-o.

is that a metric or standard measurement?

Eric, have you considered stealthing/smoking your taillights?? It would look pretty nice, especially if you swapped some LED brake light bulbs in there instead of the stockers. (Unless, BMW uses proprietary bulbs??)

In the FIRST post I linked to a Google Maps page, all you have to do is click "Get Directiions" enter your address, and voila, you know how to get there! If not, just PM me your starting point and I will give you directions. Here is that link again: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=santa+clarit...,0.038996&hl=en Just zoom out to find the best way there.... Eric, the 405 to the 605 to the 5 is your best bet. The 405 is usually pretty busy. I have a guy that lives in Huntington Beack that commutes up here during rush hour (5 PM) every day and it takes him about 2 hours driving on the 405 to the 5. Saturday afternoon, especially heading North will have much less traffic though, so its your call. It will probably take you less than an hour goint the 405>605>5 route though. That is, if you push your Bimmer hard enough

TeamSSAudio.com OFFICIAL West Coast Meet Thread
Well, after discussion with Elias, ha confirmed that some of you guys are getting hotel and staying overnight. So, basically this is going to be a two-day event. Saturday will basically be the "Official" meet, and then Sunday we can spend most of the time tinkering and tweaking systems, diagnosing, etc. and what not. I have to work Sunday at 5PM so hopefully we can get most everyone taken care of by then. If not Elias will be available. Anyway, between now and Saturday I have a good couple of hours to spend EQ-ing my system, so hopefully my system is all set to go so I can help the rest of your guys. I got the doorpods installed today (they arent bondo'd or covered yet, and probably won't beby Saturday) and as most of you know, I'm not one to brag, but I must say, its the best-sounding system I have ever heard.

Fiberglass & resin
Sounds like you are going to be doing a spare tire well??? In that case, you are going to need all the strength you can get. I'd suggest woven cloth over mat. You will lost some flexibility, but cloth is (based on what I have read and heard) easier to work with for large areas, and is stronger. Use some lightweight cloth, lay down like 4-6 layers, with PLENTY of resin. I'd estimate that a gallon would be enough, but based on my experience, you can never really have too much. (I used a quart per doorpod if that tells you anything) eBay is really a last resort for me. I'd rather go to Lowe's and buy the Bondo stuff rather than buy it in a huge quantity over the net. Select Products (selectproducts.com) also sells some great quality stuff, and they have a good selection, but they arent that cheap. Marine/boat bulding shops often have great deals on cloth/mat and resin. Since you are in Los Angeles, this shouldn't be that hard to find. (Let your fingers do the walking in the Yellow Pages ) Good luck!

32MB and a 512MB Olympus xD card to be exact.... I just wanted to mention that the Iraggi alt has been keeping things running very nicely, NOTHING in the car dims at all. I still have to upgrade the alternator to positive battery, and chassis ground, so I should gain even a bit more output after that.

Yes, staples. (I used 6.3mm staples) They hold the fleece much more effectively while stretching. I used high-tack spray adhesive to attach the fleece to the backside. I found this to be much easier than attempting to adhere and stretch everything at once... Today I resined the fleece, these doorpods are almost done, just have to bondo them, and then cover them in either vinyl or suede..

Built new trunk floor as well. (the bottom is only half, a plexi cover will be built over top of the amps. Installed sub enclosure, wired and installed amplifiers and processor... wired power antenna, and relay, etc... This view is the front of the trunk, without the rear seats installed, looking backwards... the wiring actally ended up being placed on the opposite side A couple shots at night that didnt turn out all the well, but you get the basic idea.... Have to get a shot of the DEX-P9 in action..

UPDATE: Mounted baffles to the doorpods, stretched fleece. I realize they may look a little rough, just because I pre-drilled all the holes already, and I added a few more layers of glass. more to come....

Let me clear everything up here...... THE HISTORY: (for those who don't know): Supa_c/Elias (yes, my brother) made a few select comments, which I took offense to, and cancelled the meet in consequence to what he said. I am not going to repeat what he said here...with some family intervention, he has apologized, and we have subsequently squashed the whole thing. Life is back to normal (somewhat). Just a mini-rant here: I could really care less what the rest of you think about how I handled things, this was the manner in which I felt was the most effective and appropriate. UPDATE: I have been lurking here for this past week(s), and saw how upset everyone was. Believe me when I say, I was not away sucking my thumb about this, I just had to wait until appropriate action took place to resolve me and my brothers situation. 1. I still have the 25th off from work (I re-requested the day off "just in case" things worked out). 2. I WILL be there, the Regal WILL be there (in an almost entirely complete stage - I won't be done all the cosmetic stuff, but everything is fully functional) I hope we can all look past this and focus on what this meet is about; a shared enthusiasm for car audio/in-car entertainment, building positive (non-internet) relationships among our friends and peers, and more importantly having a break, and having some fun! I look forward to seeing everyone there. Thank you all. P.S.: I will still be cutting myself off from here, just for my own personal reasons. As much as I have love for all y'all, I don't think spending my free time here is all that wise a decision. I've got my own reasons for this. I want to spend more of my time actually DOING car audio, and spend less time discussing it.

RL-P ported power handling
RE: "So having a 4000D on 2 12's is bad right ?" I'd rather find another amp to power these, I have been trying to find someone who wants to trade so I can run the power I need. I'm loooking at the Diamond Audio D61500.1, but I need to find a buyer for the 4000D first...

Welcome to the IHoP
Well, a quick update for you select few (loyal) guys... During this past weekend and including a good 5 hours today I have made pretty good progress on the Regal. Unfortunately, my computer overheated and crashed (it was an ambient 95 degrees in my room) and I lost all the pictures I had taken. I managed to aim the doorpods, and I used some 1/2" dowelling to mount the baffles to the back half. Almost all the wiring is complete, just have to get another distribution block for the battery ground. I built a new trunk floor today, and I also installed an Iraggi 220A alternator. I started fleecing the doorpods earlier tonight, but looks like "somebody" used all my 3M spray adhesive. I will hopefully have the fleece strached and resined tomorrow. Still to do: - finish doorpods (bondo, and cover in suede) - connect and mount amplifiers (wiring up the speakers w/ banana plugs, drill pilot holes for amp mounting locations) - connect and mount DEQ-P9 - install subs (will be here in a day or two ) - carpet new trunk floor - some more misc cosmetic stuff, trim pieces, etc. P.S. My DLS 6.3 passive crossovers are for sale, $135 shipped.

I'm almost done here.
You are getting what you want arent you?

I'm almost done here.
I figured I was being unselfish by offering to give this up so that "little brother" can run amuck in what he considers his stomping grounds. I don't see any compromise, and wehter or not he still has an issue with me being here, there will be no future conflict, because I won't be here.
