  1. i don't know how they would do w/ 3000w but i have been thinking about getting another ega1400d and strapping the pair to my subs i'd just have to gain them down a little, besides it'd be better to have too much power and not use it all, then not enough and clip the hel out of it

how is yours set up? trunk, hatch, up, back??? mine is firing forward(port & subs), kinda half wall. and i have had them in a 5 ft sealed, 5ft @ 37Hz, 6ft @ 23Hz, 6ft @ 31Hz, and know 6.5ft @ 27Hz.i have noticed a MINIMAL drop in SQ...but it wasn't enough for me to worry about compared to the HUGE increase in output...diff setups, diff cars, diff results. it might just be the diff between 1 and 2 RL-p's
  3. thats what i though. i wasn't about to ruin the kicks i spent so long on by drilling a d@mn hole in it! LOL but hollow as in around 100-200Hz, it sounds like all these notes are being played in a bathroom or something. its kinda like..... BOOM(echo, echo) see what i'm saying i was thinking maybe stuffing it full of some polyfill, might tone down the echo some....would you agree or disagree.

huh...i got mine in 3.25ft net @27Hz and i absolutly love it!
  5. someone told me to drill ~1" hole in the back of my kick to "vent" it into the floor...would it be better to do this or to actually port in to a certain freq? and if ported is better, what should i tune it to?
  6. i have had mine in several diff boxes.... 5ft @ 37Hz 6ft @ 23Hz 6ft @ 31Hz and finaly 6.5ft @ 27Hz and if you have the room i would strongly suggest the 6.5ft these wang the hardest they ever have in this box
  7. i took out one of the .5ft boxes today to get in there and fix my brace...i had a 2x4, screwed down w/ 4 3" screwes, the big heavy duty ones. well when i got in there i had BROKE 3 of the 4 screws! anyways i left the box out to see how it soundes at 6.5ft @ ~29Hz. by ear it hits the lows SOOO much better. i might take the other one out and try my luck w/ 7ft @ ~26Hz either way i'm gonna do another impedance plot to see what happened and i'll be sure to post the graphs when i get done...
  8. the chance has presented itself to maybe trade my d4's for a pair of d2's....with my impedance curve do you think it would be ok to run on my 1 ohm stable soundstream? it would be a .5ohm final load...but playing it would barely be dipping below 1 right? the plot would stay the same, being the same drivers, wouldn't it?
  9. they loved the way the port went all the way across the top. i think i'm gonna rip it out and redo it i wanna do something with interchangeable ports this time. i was thinking 1 47Hz port w/ about 130in port and a 32Hz port w/ 90in port...hows that sound?
  10. they said they're having another one june, july, and august i'll be taking them home too
  11. i doubt you even see 1 ohm(wired to 0.5 ohm)
  12. you know what i'm gonna say
  13. agreed! i don't think i could give up one of my SS' let alone not have any at all if all your worried about is weight. . . fiberglass
  14. so the new ones have 1/4" more magnet..... D@MN i got screwed again!
  15. just 2, i think....
  16. i like the white/silver cone better. does that thing have 4 slugs

the other day i changed my box around... i cut out about 15-20" off the port length. then i had to take up 1ft to bring the net volume back down to 6ft. i built 2 .5ft boxes, siliconed them up and screwed them to the bottom of my box. (that way the ears are for, screws)
  18. that'd be nice i'd love to have 2 15 LMT's
  19. no pics the carnival was today, so the old lady got the camera to take pics of the kids at the carnival
  20. well i was expecting a db drag. and i get there and there is like 4 judges that sat in the car to judge on overall sound. they said that my rl-p's were by far the best subs they've ever heard!!! needless to say i took first place and a $500 gift certificate to extreme motorsports. i was really wanting cash, cause i don't wanna spend any money on my car so i'll probably just end up selling it.... but either way i took first
  21. the judges were from custom sounds. they deal mainly w/ jl and the infamous dub 7 and they told me that my rl-p's were by far the best subs they've heard
  22. i was kinda disappointed, there was no meter there was like 3-4 guys from custom sounds that sat in everyones car. i wanted to know what i hit too but he said he had to pick mine cause it literally took his breath away
