  2. hell yea imma start this in april to may just before summer, and im kinda waiting for FI's new lines to come too
  3. 2 12" FI BL 1000 WATTS RMS @ 1 OHM 1 3000 WATT Sundown SAE (1500 Watts @ 2 Ohms 1500 watt per sub) Dual 12" 40 X 14.5 Ported Box, @ 32 HZ (thanks for the design recommendations) Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD Deck Polk Audio 6.5 Inch Components w/ 2 inch dome tweeters RAAMAT in my trunk, and Doors for clean sound *possible electrical upgrade, i will see how my factory ones do THANK YOU SSA FORUM!!
  4. If it was my choice, that is what I would do. Also, instead of Dynamat, look into RAAMat and Second Skin. I'm going to start playing with a box now. yeah that was the name i was lookin for raammat....i forgot it for a sec....ok thanks
  5. so the armrest thing is necessary....just have the box fire to the rear, have some dynamat in there (or something similar) and that would be my best option?
  6. im lookin for loudest possible...yes thats right
  7. nahh thats my design obviously it sux, abxx is gonna help me out, and im gonna see what the box builder thinks on friday, but last time i asked he doesnt know anything about FI, he specializes in kicker, fosgate, and MTX, but he asked me to come friday to bring specs of the BL, and he said he would know what to do
  8. ok...thanks a bunch, id appreciate the drawing cuz i think my drawing is kinda confusing
  9. music on, and i am not building the box, i am having an experienced person to do it
  10. and on the back where the middle vent is, i was gonna cut another vent on the back of the box 8 inches wide, 12 inches tall, then cut that dimension behind the arm rest so the air from the sub can come into the car...tell me what you think, hopefully i was clear enough
  11. You are recommending that a BL be ported at 28hz? Curious why you'd use such low tuning on a sub that excels in peakier enclosures. what would you recommend?
  12. I believe they told me somewhere around 32 hz? but what would you recommend?
  13. cool, thanks...now ill just have the people who are making my box carve the same size rectangle on the back of my sub box making it Parallel to the arm rest, and cutting taht part of the seat out
  14. so you are saying it does matter do it, it wont hurt?
  15. so if you all know, my final system is 2 Fi BL 12" 1000 RMS (1 OHM VC OPTION) 1 Sundown SAE-3000D 1500 RMS @ 2 OHMS **BOX: Dual 12" Ported Box (specs are below) Width: 40 Height: 16 Top Depth:20 Bottom depth: 20 Wood thickness: .75" Square Port Height: 14.5 Square Port Width: 5 The idea was to cut a rectangle behind the box, and behind the armrest in the backseat to allow air from the subs out, is this a good idea for more bass/airspace? I wanna hear what you guys think....HERE IS A PIC OF IT
  16. thanks alot man....this one was recommended for me http://www.raamaudio.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?p=pr hell yea ill send u some, i will start setting this up in spring =)
  17. hows the brand dynamat for the dampening mat?
  18. so this is the best one out there? i will get it then =)
  19. x2 You can also get really creative with sound deadening to reduce rattles. Rattling everything in your car will be cool at first, then it will get annoying and you'll start tracking them down yeah there is this stuff that looks like aluminum foil in the front and duct tape in the back that i am gonna put all over the inside of the trunk to have clean sound coming out....thx for reminding me about that...do u know i site where i can get it for a good price cuz at the circuit city here it is 200 bucks for the entire trunk
  20. What we are saying is if you have 5.0 cu ft net and if one 12 requires 1 - 2.5 Cu Ft per woofer and one 15 requires 2.5- 5.0 cu ft per woofer you are probably better off with the 12s... yeah thats what i realized too....id rather have 2 maxxed out 12s rather than 2 15's that sound like total chit....but again for a future install, i wanna upgrade to 2 12" btls, but all im focused on is what i am gonna get as my college acceptance present which is the 2 BLs =) I wouldn't say "maxxed out" . More like "optimal" Usually maxxed is used in a situation where mechanical or thermal limits are being reached or when clipping begins to occur. yea very true...but u got the point =)

  22. cool, i think its a little bit less complex and more effective, so i will do that instead! well cant wait to get this system!! 2 Fi 12" BL 1 Sundown SAZ 3000D 2 12" Ported Box partial electrical upgrade
