  1. Yes you would have to double your box's volume to 4-5cuft. And if your thinking about buying another amp why don't you just buy another MD1D for the 2nd BL?
  2. Anybody watching the big game tonight? I'm going for the gators of course, hopefully Oklahoma's no huddle offense doesn't shut Florida's defense down. I doubt it will be a shutout like last year against the over-hyped Ohio State. Should be a good game though.
  3. Ah wow I feel stupid... I just didn't want something to blow up. Thanks for the help!
  4. I understand the first part. Do I use the golden or silver strip to run negative to positive?
  5. The speaker wire with a negative and a positive. The gold and the silver. When I go to wire my sub for 2ohms which part of the speaker wire to do I run from negative to positive? I'm sure its a simple answer I'm just retarted.
  6. Haven't bought it yet but I'm really liking the 750.1
  7. I vote 4 18's in the 01. 3-4k to each.
  8. I'm waiting on the amp!! I finally got it in the box, and I temporarily hooked it up to my receiver in my room and all I can say is dayummmmmm. Before I had 2 12's on 2 channels and they sounded decent but when I put the 15 on there OMG it rattled pictures off the walls with only 75 watts! My friend that helped me build the box heard it and said if that's only 75 then if you put 800 on it you won't be able to sit in the car. I can't let the sub get anywhere near the power it needs with my receiver though. Basically the SSD is exactly what I wanted!!!!!! Thank you Fi!!!!!!
  9. My order came in today too! I bet your excited like me!
  10. I was aware but my trunk isn't tall enough to do sub and port back. :/ Well my 15 finally got here today! Pics: Not gonna lie even though its a SSD it still has a beastly rear end in my eyes. I messed around and free aired it on about 75 watts on some test tones, it was moving good! I just can't wait to put some real power on it! :bigclap:
  11. Lmao. +1 to whoever put cock under the tags. My friend used to have a rooster and it would do the thing its supposed to do in the morning except it would do it in the middle of the day and the middle of the night, lmao
  12. Dang. I have never really understood the whole ohm load thing, but I have never read up on ohm's law either. I don't get how the amp knows what ohm load to produce and how the speaker is a certain ohm coil or whatever...
  13. Dang! I just ordered mine like a weeks ago. I wish I could have gotten a white dustcap. Any pictures of the new dustcaps?
  14. How loud is 140db to someone who has never heard a system in their life? Just curious. Like how would you react.
  15. Not trying to thread jack or anything. But can a D1 sub be wired to any other load than .5 or 2? Like can it be wired to a 8ohm or 16 ohm load?
  16. It would take all the power that amp could throw at it. Just set your gains right so your getting clean non clipped output.
  17. Just thought this was kinda weird I saw it on the 6pm local news. The headline was like, "New golfclubs damaging to hearing" They had a chart and everything and the "sonic boom" titanium golf club hit like 130 db at 1 ft away from the golfball when it was hit. I remember going out to the golfing range and hitting some 200 yarders but I don't remember it being loud. Just thought it was kinda interesting.
  18. Bumpidy bump ^any opinions on the box design up there? I could get 4 cuft instead of 3.5 with that design.
  19. Sounds like your clipping. The BL's would get assloads louder than the l7's. edit: and they would handle the power better
  20. ShaneSauce replied to wof131s's topic in General Fi
Wouldn't LSQ be a sub that can get loud and sound good at the same time? I mean I understand that the Q is a sound quality woofer but it can also get loud and sound good doing it correct?
  21. Not really. It could takes weeks or a month or so to fully break in.
  22. Most people around here will tell you to just let them break in over time.
  23. Thinking about building a new box and testing it. Tell me what you guys think. The port is on the front face of the box at the bottom, sub facing up here is a really rough design. I could get 4 cubes easy with this style of box and that's what I'm looking for. 58 square inches of port @ 32-33hz.
  24. ^ wow guys, lmao I just want it to be louder to the ear because I'm not going to be competing or anything. I'm sure I'll test it both ways and see what is louder to the ear.
  25. thanks for all the help guys I don't know where I would be without you guys, lol Should I fire the port towards the cabin or towards the trunk? My dad wants to do port towards cabin so it doesn't rattle as much, but I remember hearing doing port back will give more output. ???
