Okay sounds good, thanks.

Cut sheet program.
Not trying to thread jack but there is no point in making another thread to ask one question. What kind of screws do I need and how many?

Cut sheet program.
How big do the sheets of MDF come in? Like 8x5 or something? I'm going to pick up some tomorrow for the box build this weekend and I'm wondering if 1 sheet will do the job.

2 15" Fi BL
I would go with 4-4.5ftcuft after all displacements. All rap I would say 30-32hz. And BTL's like allot of port so I would go for about 60-70 square inches of port.

2 15" Fi BL
Well we could answer that. Do you want sound quality or stupid loud?

Flared Port Tubes
I was looking at the 4" flared port tubes. I don't know too much about them but how do you find tuning for your box with them? And how much do they displace?

2 15" Fi BL
I don't understand your logic. You want loud, you want more woofers but you want to go sealed. I understand you don't have enough room for 2 15's ported but going from a 2 15 sealed setup to the same thing isn't going to give you the results your looking for. I would go with the 15" BTL in the proper ported enclosure.

4 15's or 2 18's
Ohhhh I thought you were getting BTL's either way. Yea I would definitely go with 2 18 BTL's then.

4 15's or 2 18's
I would say 4 15's.

Welcome to the IHoP
I'm just glad the winters in Florida aren't below freezing and near the negatives like some places up north. Most of the time its light coat weather here. But god do the summers suck here. I couldn't help but notice this random ass emoticon thing.

Sweeeeeeet. What is the build looking like? Size, box, amp?

BL Series - "1000W* RMS" - What is the * for?
I have also wondered this edit: then shouldn't the SSD also have the*? Because you can add bp power and add rms

Build for a Buddy
Well if he listens to mostly rap go with the 15, or the 18 if you can somehow fit it. For the 15 I'm guessing 4.0^ft3 tuned to 30-32hz. Uh options, the "stock" BL would be fine on 1100rms but its always nice to have it fully loaded just in case. And in the future he could get rid of that amp and slap a saz-1500 on there if he wanted a little more power.

whats the highest rms rated sub?
If by funky pup you mean

dynamat the inside of a box?
I have never heard of someone dynamatting the inside of the box. Maybe try a new box with a double baffle if you don't have one already.
-
is a 18 inch ssd louder then 3 cheap 12's
He is probably talking about this one. But idk about 1ohm, no site selling it has specs for 1ohm, just 900rms @2ohm

16 year old budget build
Thanks guys, the new brain for my system is on its way. When I get everything installed what should I set my low and high pass filters to? I heard something about setting subsonic to like 2-3hz below box tuning, so I should set my subsonic to about 30hz correct?

MDF or just plywood?
DON'T USE PLYWOOD. Where have you looked for MDF?

15 vs 18 3cuft vs 5.5cuft
Well the only reason I ask is because Fi doesn't recommend going under 6 cubes for the 18" SSD. But going 5.5 cubes and giving it enough port area shouldn't hurt it.
-
15 vs 18 3cuft vs 5.5cuft
Around 75-80 square inches of port, tuned at 31-32hz 13-14 square inches of port per cube.
