  1. net volume, and with or without port displacment? 5.5 after sub and port displacement
  2. I really want a 18, extremely bad but I have been lead away from it due to trunk space. My question is, if I put a SSD 18 in a 5.5 cuft box how would it sound compared to a SSD 15 in a 3cuft box. I wouldn't have a problem fitting the 15 in but the 18 would be a snug fit, but its much more appealing.
  3. I can get a refurb for a little cheaper. Would I be okay with a refurb?
  4. Wow your from Crestview? My dad works over there all the time, I'm in Pensacola right now. But anyways I think I'm gonna get the zx750 over the bxi1208
  5. Fast response, I was really looking at the zx750 for my SSD over the Hifonics because I have heard bad stuff about Hifonics.
  6. Are these amps underrated? Anybody have a birth sheet or a estimate of what the 750.1 will really do @2ohms?
  7. RE SE 12"? They are like $150 shipped on ebay. Or you could do the SSD 12" for $200 shipped from Fi. I'm not too sure on the amp, a common used budget amp is Hifonics brutus but its mostly shunned around here.
  8. All I have to say is damn that is a clean Lincoln. I'm loving the rims, what are they 150 spoke?
  9. Just some pictures of what I'm working with. And my new front and back stage came in! My baby Stock head unit, not too sexy Disgusting stock 4's Good sized trunk, not enough for the 18" though :/ New Kenwood's came in the mail today Wanted components but I'm on a tight budget I'm ordering the new pioneer head unit tonight after the bama gator game. I will install all of the speakers when I get it in because there is no point in doing it now.
  10. I figured I would go ahead and put up a build log since some of my stuff came in today and I plan on being done with this project over the next month. Well I'm 16 years old and this is my first car a '97 Toyota Tercel, I got this car from my grandma as a gift and I couldn't be happier with the 40mpg I get. (1.5L 97hp lol) There is a couple things I plan on doing to it like a new paintjob and some rims and a tint job, etc. The first thing I'm going to do is give it a little acoustic upgrade on a slim budget. My planned setup HU - Pioneer DEHP3000IB Front Stage - 4" Kenwood KFC1682 Back Stage - 6 1/2" Kenwood KFC1682 Mids Amp - Kenwood KAC 500 Sub Stage - 1 15" Fi SSD Sub Amp - Hifonics Bxi1208 Wiring - Knu Conceptz Sub Box - 3.5^ft3 @ 33hz
  11. Well that gives us a very broad range of options. Uh how much room do you have? What are your goals? What amp are you going to use?
  12. How about Palmela Anderson, lol Palmela Handerson You win!
  13. How about Palmela Anderson, lol
  14. I'm seriously thinking about it.. I don't want to argue with him but I wanna show him that it will work good and in the end we will both be happy. edit: I showed him a fully detailed sketch of my box from the top view and front view with specs and box cutouts and everything and he just kind of shrugged that off. He said its a full day project to build that box.
  15. Well I'm trying to talk to my dad about my system, keep in mind I'm only 16. And he is funding for most of my first system. I was talking to him about building a box and everything and he said it was too much work when you could just go out and buy a nice prefab box. Well of course I explained to him that a decent prefab 4.0cuft box will be like $150 shipped, why do that when you can make your own for like $50. He went on about carpeting the box and how the fiber board falling apart or something when you drill down the screws? So he said why don't you just get one of those loaded enclosures and amps from best buy or circuit city? I tried to explain that those are overpriced loads of crap.. He mentioned a ad in the paper for 2 sony xplods a box and a 200watt amp for $300 I was just shaking my head in disbelief.. Maybe he doesn't understand that I just want a 15 a 1000 watt amp and a 4.0cuft box? Damn I would rather spend $400 for a system that slams compared to $300 for garbage..
  16. There have been long drawn out arguments about "tighter" sounding bass and smaller woofers. But I believe it's not true, the 15 will sound just as good as the 12.
  17. Coming along nice, those are some really smooth cuts there. And that box is huge, I could pretty much live in there. lol
  18. 1st post in the hop, woot Uh where does everybody get their chopped and screwed music besides limewire?
  19. Its probably this amp. $400 isn't a bad deal for that, but I would still get a BL and Sundown 1500
  20. With JL Audio you are pretty much paying for the name. I mean the W7's are good woofers too but I would pick the BL any day. Go with the 15 if your trying to get loud.
  21. Hell the old heatsinks are good too. Just go with the old heatsink refurb you will be glad you did. Anything sundown makes is good.
  22. New heatsink is better I'm guessing. Or else they wouldn't come out with a new one. Just throw in the extra $25.
  23. Wow 145 is pretty good for one 15. How would that compare to the same setup with just 1000rms?
  24. Okay I just did that and its looking good. I will be ordering in the next couple of days, I will start on the box in a couple of days too I will get a build log up. I will probably have the smallest car to have a 18 in the trunk, lol
