Sufficient electrical system?
Just what I needed to hear! Would you guys say a btl 15 with a kicker2500 will hit harder than a ssd 15 with a kicker 750? lol

Sufficient electrical system?
If I wanted to run say.. 3k at 1ohm would a 170amp alt and a yellow top in the back be sufficient? With the stock battery up front and the big 3 done obviously.

What to expect?
Well it doesn't sag extremely its just a bit lower in the back and I am somewhat ocd about things like that. And it could be a bit more than 100 pounds actually.. More like 150 because it is a pretty good sized box and its double baffled. My car is def not made to hold weight that is for sure.

What to expect?
A 97 toyota tercel 2 door coupe. I just lowered it 2 inches and before I lowered it my rear end sat lower than the front, but without the box in there it is even. the sub and box together weigh around 100 pounds. edit: i mostly just need a cheap alternative for the time being, I'm trying to save up for some rims at the moment lol

What to expect?
My 15" ssd and my box weigh a ton and its bringing my rear end down a lot.. I am thinking of downgrading to a lighter setup.. like a cvr 12 for example in a 1.5cuft sealed box, but I am keeping the kicker 750 ill just keep the gain down. Would it be terrible? I'm not a bass addict I just need some kind of low end so I don't go crazy.

Water in door panels!
I have plastic baffles for my rear speakers because the ssd would probably have destroyed them by now.. I was thinking about doing that with the front's but idk if the window will have clearance because the baffles are pretty deep, then again I could cut the bottoms off and create a umbrella like you said.

Water in door panels!
Oh alright I thought it would have to be really close to the speakers. Well thanks for the help guys.

Water in door panels!
Good idea! I will def make the water drainage holes bigger. One last thing, when I get the components where will I mount to actual crossover to keep it out of harms way??

Water in door panels!
Wow really?? I don't know if there is weather stripping but I think it is coming from the window seal.. Could I just wrap the back of the basket in electrical tape to create a barrier almost?

Water in door panels!
So my front speakers stopped working and its not a big deal they were cheapo sony 5 1/4"'s, temporary until I got my components. And it was raining one day while I had the speakers were out and I saw the amount of water that runs down the door and gathers at the bottom and then drains out.. This cannot be good for my speakers, and considering there was rust on the back of the burnt up speakers this has to be the culprit. I was planning on putting a nice set of components in but there is no point if they are just gonna get destroyed by rain water.. What would you guys do?

Anybody use spectrum?
My tar based sound deadening fell off my panels a while back.. Anybody use the spray/brush on spectrum? Is it worth it?

Is this amp blown?
I think I have this figured out.. It is my head unit I am almost 99% sure, the reason I say this is because my dad got a kenwood deck a couple months ago very similar to mine and we traded for a couple days. When he put my deck in his truck he had all kinds of engine noise and static. because he is running a 4 channel amp in his truck and I wasn't. So when he plugged in his rca's into the front and rear pre-outs on my deck it made the static. We put the deck back in my car and I never used those pre-outs so that's why I didn't get noise until I tried to install a amp. Which is why I was getting static and whatnot.. It must be the head unit! Gonna put my dads back in my car and see if that solves the problem.

Is this amp blown?
Grounded the amp directly to the frame and got noise. Switched amps with my dads 2 channel and still got noise. So a bad ground somewhere in the car I'm assuming? My kicker doesn't have this problem.

Is this amp blown?
I'm gonna take a wire wheel to it tomorrow. And today I got it all working besides the engine noise but my front left speaker wasn't working at all. When I would plug the rca's in it would pop but no sound after that. I'm guessing the positive and negatives are backwards or something... Its all just a big confusing mess and having to go to school until 1 then go straight to work until 10 doesn't help.. I need some free time!

Is this amp blown?
I upgraded the ground today and I'm still getting a ton of engine noise. Its bolted to the seat so idk..

Is this amp blown?
Ok guys.. Part of the problem was a bad rca.. got that fixed. I'm in the process of re-wiring all of the speakers, its a huge mess behind the head unit. Now I ran into another problem. Engine noise, I ran the power wire separate from the rca's and I'm still getting a crapload of engine noise/whine and static. How do I stop this I don't even know where to begin.

Is this amp blown?
ah i don't have a set of those cables for the ipod. but i will go check out the fuse and ground make sure those are good.. try switching the rca's around and see what happens. ill be back shortly

Is this amp blown?
Got a super old school 40x4 sony from a buddy of a mine and he said it worked. Spent all day running all the wires, got it hooked up and the power light comes on.. But there is something wrong, the only way I can describe it is a very loud thumping every second or so.. I have 2 sets of rca's ran and I think that could be the problem is me not having them set up right. On the back of my head unit I have the rca's hooked up to the sub amp fine. Then I have 2 pre-outs one set for the front and one set for the rear, well on the amp there is a,b,c,d and I'm not sure how this should be set up.. And the 2 sets of rca's are different idk if that makes a difference. Is this amp blown or do I just have it hooked up wrong.

Using bolt as a speaker terminal
Wow where were these replies when I needed them a couple hours ago? haha But anyways the reason I want to do this is if I ever have a flat tire I can just unscrew 2 wing nuts and remove my box completely. I"m running a bit short on wire and running it through the port I wouldn't even be able to take the box out of my trunk. So I got (2) 1/4" x 2 1/2" carriage bolts, 2 wingnuts and 6 washers I hooked everything up and it works flawlessly. But shizzon will this resistance effect my sound in any way? Running 850rms @ 2ohms.

Using bolt as a speaker terminal
Instead of ordering a 8 gauge speaker terminal, waiting for it to get here then cutting a hole in my box and screwing that in.. Could I just get 2 bolts and 2 washers and screw those into my box and use those as a positive and negative post? Any tips or experiences with this? edit: im still a noob when it comes to little stuff like this, the only reason I ask is I have seen something similar done on this site.

sub ismaking weird noise.. AGAIN
Scratch that, I figured out the problem. Original baffle is retarted, screws go in around the speaker but strip because they aren't grabbing the wood. So I'm going to pick up half-sheet of mdf tomorrow for a double baffle. Should fix my problem, thanks for looking though.

sub ismaking weird noise.. AGAIN
after i sealed it up with silicone the first time the weird noise stopped but there is a noise thats back again. at higher volumes my low bass drops off severely and it makes this crazy noise. im so confused..

what wires
Any 8-12 gauge speaker wire would be good for hooking up the subs to the amp. The amp kit looks good, and with that much equipment I would recommend a 250-300amp fuse.
