And I just answered my question 27 mm is the xmax and that converts to about 1 inch so I should be fine especially if its flush mounted thanks for all ur help jus let me know how it looks with the slot port sub and port rear

That works fine for me but can we cut back the depth to 17. But do u think two inches is enough space for the sub to play without hitting the back hatch? Sorry for so much question and thanks alot

Well right now it is a 15 q that I was going to send in to get reconed to a 18. If u think I can stilll fit an 18 q like that and it sound better than a 15 q in the optimal enclosure then I'm all for that I just fear that when the sub would play it would hit my rear hatch. But id really like to stay close to 28 hertz but I've never heard a sub that's played that low would it make a big difference between 28 and 33?

Well 18 is my max depth but I have a total of about 20.5 till the back swing door so if we put the sub facing the door would that give it enough room for exursion. I completly missed that fact of depth too sorry

And with a height of that the box would be above my back headrest and I don't know if id be able to have a lot of visibility like that

Would it be posiible to put the ports on the side so that the width of 42. Could accomidate the long length of the port. Mabey lol as as long as the port would be towards the top of the box I can have room for the port to be able to breath

Can you somehow raise the hieght of your backseet to give you more room for the subs. I've heard of it being gone but never actually seen it.

Sorry to jump in but I just wanted to say that that guy is not a dick.He actualy designs and builds great boxes and knows what he is talking about.He was just trying to help you and you jumped to conclusions; so, please next time don't be so rude. Okay I am planning on getting a new substage setup in the summer because right now im just a poor college student lol. Anyways I have had a fi btl 12 before and loved it but now I know I want an 18 for sure and I have contacted argent audio and an 18 will fit with aero ports so my question is should I get another btl or the Q. I loved my old btl but honestly sometimes it was just to loud and I have heard great things about tthe Q. I have never heard a sound quility sub in car auido before though. I like it loud but it doesn't necasarly have to rattle everything too. So I was just wondering what you guys think between the two wich would be better. If I left any iformation out jus let me know. I also currently have an Saz-2000d to power it 0 guage runs big three and plan on getting a h/o alternator soon. Thanks for any help

Well first I should say i have a 2002 jeep liberty (KJL v6 3.7 liter I was reading an article on its eletrical system and found this charging system of our KJ's is much different to ones in the past. I have been told that in an efforet to protect the PCM and other computer components in the KJ, the charging system draws from the battery FIRST and then calls on the Atl/Gen to re-plenish the battery as needed. That is why the new generation of Deep Cycle batteries work so well. They have the reserve power to allow the extra toys without needing to add the huge alt/gen of the past. As you use your lights, stereo, winches, what ever, they will be drawing from a battery that is not designed to power all that stuff. A deep cycle is designed to do that. And was wondering 1) if you gues made an alt for my vehicle 2) if the alt overides this system Thanks for your help

About ur lights dimming.... I have a jeep liberty too and before I beefed up my electrical Icould push all four off my window roll up buttons and the lights would dimm haaa soo its jus that the vehicle needs the big three big batt and big alt at least with my btl

neever mind found out one coil is blown

ok so today i was on my way home and my sub just quit working. i checked the ohms for the coils and its 1.25 . i checked the wire running from the box (there wired to one ohm). So i thought that it was ok. so i then checked the voltage of the speaker wiring coming from the amp and the volts were jumping up and down. so i then hooked up a ten and it played fine. So my question is what is wrong thanks for the help. my amp is sundown audio 2000d my sub is fi btl12 MY HEADUNIT IS pioneer avic n4
