  1. hi guys, would just like to get inputs and possible if i could, get the best for my application. - sub will be in the trunk of a car. - fired towards the cabin through the center arm rest - max box would be 2 cubes, 1.5 cubes or smaller preferred - final impedance of 4 ohms - good for 1k watts of power in 4 ohms - SQ install but has a capability to massage me if i want to crank it up abit - can be tuned to a flat bass sound as much as possible thanks
  2. that is what i was really thinking of... "diff stokes for diff folks"... honestly im might even be one of those that would be part of... "dont cut it!" maybe due to so many things or plans that im hoping to do, im already getting paranoid or over analyzing things... hahaha! may be, a good option now is to look into 6.5" subs, so that the bass would be upfront... ? planned system is to cut it at 50hz up to 200hz or maybe 250hz.
  3. in the quest for possibly the best SQ to our ears, proper install would always be needed, proper positioning and aiming etc... but on the midbass install part on doors, sometimes we feel something still is lacking... even though we have done all the possible deadening etc needed. and ending up in trying to fit an 8" on the doors. modifying the door moldings and cutting through the metal sheet... Question is... is it worth it? destroying some parts the your car used as daily driven just for the midbass sound were looking for?
  4. me too, for comparison... i just hope somebody could help out...
  5. original? hmmm... this is the polycone and not the kevlar cone right? does the kevlar have differences?
  6. anybody know where i can get a copy? thanks guys...
  7. BTW: here is something i was able to get... QUOTE: "When it comes to comparing it with the 701, lets start with the heart of any processor... Processing Chip: Bit One
  8. would you still remember where i can read about it? BTW: im talking about the new BitOne released, the 3rd batch that was said to have a new PBC and new caps i think... the ones with issues where said to be on the 1st batch reported as i think the so called "beta version"
  9. why? could you further explain your thoughts?
  10. hello guys, just wanted to ask if there is a benefit of changing from a 701 to a bitone? would we get a significant gain in SQ for doing such? assuming that all we need is letsay on the 701 already... thanks.
  11. sorry but im not really familiar about the opti amps. if we were to consider the old amps, how would we know that thats the old model or not simply by the appearance? anybody have pics for comparison on the old and new amps?
  12. very common among other forums...
  13. sir, could you kindly give a list of other choices for us to know? like me im just still starting in this hobbie and i am not aware of all brands... and im sure there are still more of us...
  14. correct me if i'm wrong, but wouldn't you buy the 9887 to run active and thus eliminating the need for an external or passive crossover.... well thats true, for a full 3way system, 2way fronts with a sub or 3way fronts w/o sub... ill be doing a full 3way front and a sub, technically a 4way setup.
  15. thanks alot adrian, well for processing, still not enough for a H701, and might simply use a 9887 for now with an external active xover...
  16. hello, just needs some inputs on the best possible tweeter + mid for $500 or less. also intallation will be pillars/dash @What music do i prefer? music would be all kinds, simply depends on my mood. rap, rock, lovesongs etc. @What sound do i prefer? something smooth, detailed, with an airy treble, something that you could hardly tell that theres a speaker when position properly. neutral to warm side of things. @Do i have a midwoofer? yes, i have already, but still thinking of a mid that can go down to 150-200hz
  17. there is always an active crossover to add to a passive indash, since you want to keep your indash...
  18. thanks for the reply. well, its LOUD SOUND QUALITY if that means something... i just want clean and a good sounding system, SQ side when driving, but can play loud when needed... you mentioned..."for a dedicated SQ build i would go with other renowned SQ amplifiers." can you give names that i should look on to just for options sake?
  19. not sure about the merlin but its the same spec as the slash 300/4. (75x4 @4ohm) almost the same price also, diff of about $50 only , merlin higher over Slash.
  20. AB 4ch amps for SQ purpose? which is over the other? overall performance...

well i taught about it due to a box designed for large theaters, they use subs in this type of design, they say the design help the sound be loud and large, filling a very big room, but still helps control the sub and produce accurate tunes to make you feel like everythings real. do we have a calculator found online for this type of design? i dont know or cant find it...
