Hey guys I am looking to get a 15" in the 1500-2000 RMS range, depending on what would work best with my final decision. I listen to mostly Rock, Alternative and Rap/Hip-Hop. I like getting loud more then really caring about quality. So I believe a driver geared more towards SPL might be a good decision?? This set-up will be going in my Extended Cab Ram, so I have quite a bit of room to work with. Sub: Sounds like XCON might not be a bad choice. Even though its more SQ then SPL? Need suggestions. Would like to get Dual 2. Amp: Sundown SAZ- 2000/1500D would be my #1 choice. Depending on driver choice. Looking to run it at 1 ohm. Box: A local shop does good work on boxes so I will probably have him build it. Electrical: This is where I have the most questions. I know I will need to do Big 3 in 1/0, and my main power run and ground of 1/0. Is an Alt necessary for 2KRMS daily? I know i will need a battery as well, but have not looked into those yet. Goals: Really just want something that will get loud and be impressive for when people ride with me. Would like to be able to feel it in my ears IF that is possible, as well. Budget: Pretty much unlimited. I am willing to pay whatever I need to, to get this done RIGHT. I was told to do that the first time, and I did skimp a little. So this time I want to do the opposite. This will be a slow process of saving up and taking my time. Although I do not want to spend an arm and a leg. Deadener: Is this necessary?\ Reason: Just want louder. Nothing wrong with current set-up, just want louder. I hope I covered everything I needed to. Any input you guys can give me will be appreciated. Thanks.
  7. what kind of electrical is needed for 1500-2kwrms? i know big 3 in 1/0 and power/grounds 1/0. is an alt necessary? im guessing a battery would be a very good idea as well? deadening im sure is a good idea too. besides the amp to push it, driver to take it and box to put it in lol
  8. really hard to tell from video, but sounds like clipping. i would re adjust your gains and see if it gets better please read post 17
  9. ill look and see. thanks
  10. got about half a pound of polly-fil in my box. it got some the quality back.
  11. its got an Infinity sound system so its actually very good. more then enough for me. i want a sub that can keep up with it and maybe overpower it only when i want to
  12. lol. i want something that i can feel in my ears.
  13. when i first did my system last year i thought i was doing something cheap and simple. it ended up bein a lot of work and more money then i thought. and that was only 1 12. i cant imagine doin everything your wanting for the price your thinking. id tone it down a little but thats just me. if its what you REALLY want, go for it
  14. can hear 18 but not 19. had tubes in my ears when i was little. have failed every school hearing test ive ever taken. im 16 almost 17. i can also hear the whine from my old 32" Toshiba TV.

so after roughly 8 months with my set-up, im already ready for something more! i was hoping this would last me longer. haha. its just not loud enough anymore. anyone else get bored with theirs and feel the urge to upgrade often? lol
  16. You got some problems if u dont believe your wife telling u where in the building you live. I dont think thats happened to anyone. LMFAO! probably the funniest thing ive read in a year on this forum!
  17. sorry it was my first time and i had someone else build me the box.
  18. your an expert compared to me! BTW, i stopped at your daughters work on the way home.
  19. im not sure what you mean by frq dial. if you mean the x-over yeah i had it set around 80. and with all settings down yes it was still there. me and Chuck (ChicagoFan) actually tuned on it for 30-45 minutes tonight and its definitely hurt. i guess over time it just got to be too much. we got it to a happy medium where its not doin it AS LOUD but still there, as it was there no matter what we did. we got it to a decent level and we will see what happens from here, how much longer the sub lasts. my box is actually a little smaller then what Fi recommends so i am going to get a bag of polyfill and throw that in my box and see what happens. i will try to do that tomorrow most likely. thanks everyone for your help so far.
  20. can hear it decently in this vid under the camera distortion. it just sounds like choppy bass and not smooth. its a lot more noticeable in person and just sounds horrible. can hear it in the first part of this one where the camera is lookin at the port. its on the lower notes more then higher ones.
  21. should i have done the vids of it free aired? i did them in the box. let me know if i should do a couple more with it free aired. the vids are uploading now!
  22. yeah. ill get on that tomorrow after school. after listening to it a little more, another way i can think to describe it is instead of the bass sounding smooth and crisp, its choppy and rattly sounding. maybe im clipping the heck out of it. but i dont smell glue. and theres no thud sound like its bottoming out. it just started happening randomly
  23. anyone got any ideas? thanks
  24. You should of went up their to get your strippers instead of waiting on them(your fault) and went off on them for a horrible install. yeah i know my fault. i just never messed with it. i did tell him my mind when i called the second time about my strippers. one of my buddies that went there around the same time i did told them off as well.
