Distortion would be neglible on the substage. If you can hear it, you would need to be donated to science
  2. Ya... that Alpine unit comes with a cage. Great build though.
  3. Any GSM phone should be the same.
  4. I want to mount a Double DIN unit in my 1.5DIN dash opening. Yes, I know it is 1" taller, and I know I need to be doing some modifications. I can handle that. My problem is, the unit I want to use does not come with a cage. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-qehudI3MTzg/c...550&I=257AVX706 So, I need to fabricate a way of installing the Double DIN in the dash without use of a cage. Perhaps I can use an already existing kit... and mold it into my factory stereo trim piece. The whole bezel over the stereo and HVAC controls comes off. And use a kit like this one: http://www.scosche.com/scosche_caraudio.as...&ItemID=HA1566B Mold the kit right to the bezel, then slip it into place. in the dash (some dremel work will be needed to fit the 1" taller unit though. I will need to figure out some way of securing the back of the unit to the dash as well, since I wouldn't mind making it a little tougher for a thief to remove it from my possession. Maybe some strapping attached to the kit, and screwed into the rear of the dash. Thoughts guys?
  5. www.knukonceptz.com www.weldingsupply.com For good, well priced wiring choices.
  6. Didn't really belong in the SI forum. So... into the appropriate forum it went.

Dual 4 ohm Wired in parallel = 2 ohm load Wired in series = 8 ohm load Dual 2 ohm Wired in parallel = 1 ohm load Wired in series = 4 ohm load I would get the Dual 2 version, which theoretically would be 900W from the amp, but with impedance rise in a sealed enclosure, you won't see that much power.
  8. Yep. Less voltage drop over the cable = more voltage for the amplifier.
  9. Well, why would I lie to you? I do this sort of thing for a living... Your cable runs on the Big 3 are small enough not to warrant needing 1/0, but overkill is good.
  10. Yes, 1/0 to a distro block and 4ga to the amps. Too much current on a wire = fire. You don't want that.
  11. Raining, windy, and cool in Cornwall, ON... aka Cornhole.
  12. Man... you need to put something larger than 4ga. in there... the current draw is waaaay too much for 4ga. Just asking for trouble. http://www.the12volt.com/info/recwirsz.asp
  13. guys do it too http://www.dailydancer.com/
  14. I know there isn't.... just if he was getting such a great deal on the Kicker, I would turn around and sell it to someone else for a profit
