My aunt is a broker too... just not good timing for me. Sucks, but such is life. I have to sit down with my brother though... pissing away money into rent is dumb... especially when combined we can afford a decent house & the resulting equity.- Welcome to the IHoP

At the very least, active with the midbass & midrange, then use a -6 or -12dB passive for the tweeter. All active is completely ideal like Sean said.- Welcome to the IHoP
I need to do something with all my extra drivers... I'm thinking of doing a media room in my basement.- Welcome to the IHoP
I've tried getting more local people to buy in... but hard to do, especially since 95% of consumers only have a stereo for street cred around here.- Ready to buy

lol, talk about questions that catch you off guard.- Starting the component purchases
midrange should be playing all frequencies that vocals are present anyways. For example, in my setup, my starting points for crossover frequencies are going to be: Midbass: 50-300Hz Midrange: 300Hz-6kHz Tweeter: 6kHz-20kHz Normal vocal range is ~300Hz to 3500Hz. Classical opera singers can extend beyond those numbers, but it's a rough idea. - 12" RL-P vs. 12" FI-Q
