I installed 2 JL 10W3v3 in my brother's Ram 1500 under the back seat and they sound great, but i was thinking on a little more output. Would a direct switch with the IA 187 be noticeable? The box size is about .78 cu.ft after all displacement (with the W3's) and he is running a JL a1800 amp. Would this be a good idea, or would it just be better to stick with what he has now? I have the JL C5 6.5 component set for my front stage. They are pretty nice with great vocals and nice mid bass. So i just need a good enclosure to finish the deal with the sub. I wanted to go ported but dont have enough space, just wanted a seal that would give me good SQ bass. Thanks for all the input guys.

The fi Q 15 has a sealed enclosure range from 2.0 to 2.6 cu.ft. At which enclosure size within this range would product the best results for a SQ setup? Thanks guys.

Ok let me put it this way. If someone out there has heard 1 or a pair of 15 Q's in both a sealed and a port enclosure, which would you chose if u didnt favor one enclosure over the other.

What i was trying to find out is: will 1 Q 15 hit lows or produce a low frequency or will 2 Q 15's sealed hit lows better. Meaning good SQ and get loud while doing it? Do this help any? Am not looking for port dimension by the way.

Would 1 Q 15 ported in a 3.5-4 cu.ft tune to 28-30 Hz enclosure hit the low better than 2 Q 15's sealed enclosure?

I currently have 2 15 fi Q's and want to put them into a fiberglass enclosure. I will frame the back, bottom, and both sides out of MDF, but i am wanting the top and front of the enclosure to be fiberglass. What is the recommended thickness or number of layers of mat or cloth that i should apply for 2 Q 15's. Amp using the AQ 2200D amp if that helps. Thanks

I was thinking on fiberglassing the front of the enclosure adding a bubble like effect adding extra air space to the net volume of th enclosure. Any opinions about this?

My bad guys, chit, was rushing had to get to class. The enclosure is 6.8 cu.ft before port displacement but includes woofer displacement. So what opions do i have for this enclosure, can i port it or do i have to go sealed? Any input is welcome, thanks guys.

The 6.2 cu.ft is after all displacment. So if i use a port that is 3" in height and 26" in width, what length would i need to make it to tune to around 28-30hz?

I have two Fi Q 15's and would like to know whether to go sealed or ported? I love tight bass and also love the sound of a ported enclosure. I have the space for the ported enclosre (6.2 cu.ft)and i also have the space for the sealed enclouse. I love both sealed and ported enclosures. But which encloser would be the best for good sound quality and will also get loud. Any input is welcome. thanks

I have a friend with 2 JL 10W3v3 under the back seat of his 2002 dodge ram and wants to know if he should get 2 Fi SSD 10 to replace them. I know that the SSD's handles more power, but would the switch be worth it? Thanks any input welcome.

So if i extend my port length about 3-4 inches i should be ok using a 3.1 cuft box presently tuned to 38hz?

I have 40 sq. in of port will that do? Or will i have to rip my port out and redo it. I emailed a well know "audio dude" and he told me if i have such a small enclosure for that 15, if i tune the box to about 38Hz, the cab would do the rest. Guess i was an ass for actually believeing that chit. Dame.

Will a 3.1 cuft enclosure (after all displacement) tuned to 38 hz work for a 15" Fi Q? With the size of my truck, this is the largest box that i could fit in there. How will this work?

Ok, i dont need the line driver. So if my HU is putting out 4 volts, then i need to set my gain to about 1/4 correct? I read the thread about setting the gain but didnt get it really, am slow i guess, lol. Is this correct?

I heard that circuit breakers are not a good idea. Is it tru that they lose their capacity every time they are tripped. So the first time it will trip at rated load, then it will begin to trip at lower values every time it is tripped?
