Can 2 gauge wire be used instead of 1/0 gauge wire?

Am not ripping out the factory wiring, am just wanting to know if using 2 gage instead of 0/1 would be any less effective?

If am using a 2200 watts rms amp (does rated power), will there be a big difference if i use 2 gage wire instead of 0/1 gage wire for the big 3?

I was told by a former "audio guy" that althought 3/4 MDF is used in car audio enclousers, 3/4 partical board could be used to reduce the weight of the encloser. How tru is this?

haha i couldnt help but picture a teenager doing the gangsta lean in their car tryna be all cool when i read that. in regards to that, why dont you sit up straight like a normal person and set your front stage up nicely? i second the DLS's...i like every set in their line that i've heard. Well just so that its clear, i am a normal person but I drive a ext. cab dakota becuase i pay for college plus other bills and i cant get anything else till i graduate next year. Oh yea, am 6' 7" by the way, maybe just a few feet taller than you.lol so i cant sit straight up even if i wanted to. But i have a amp that runs 200 rms and if i get rid of the rears, then how do you guys suggest i set things up the front stage? I looked at the DLS components but would also like a few other opinions. I also looked at the Rainbow Soundline SLC 265 components, are these better than the JL Audio TR650-CSi Component. I do need my rears for added vocals and clearity. When i lean back in my seat, my ears are closer to my rears and i feel they do aid in producing desent vocals for this application. I was just wanting to find out what setup would be best, but it seems i need to look at different options for a good stage. Any other suggestions out there?

Right now am looking at using a pair of components up front and a pair of coaxial in the back (Ext. Cab Dodge Dakota). So my question is which setup would be best for sound quality: 1) Audioque AQG-6.5 Component Set and Focal Access 165 CA1 = $350.00 total 2) Focal 165 A1 Component Set and Focal Access 165 CA1 = $450 total 3) JL Audio TR650-CSi Component Set and JL Audio C2-650x = $400 total This is what i came up with, just need to know which set these would do the job. I also have the power to use any setup.

Hey Scott and Nick whats up. I just received 1 of 2 subs that were ordered. UPS said that they dont have any movement on the 2nd sub so more than likely it was not shipped out. They told me to call u and find out if the sub was shipped out , i emailed you the tracking numbers. Tracking info. shows one pakage is delivered, while with the other, it still says billing information recieved.

If you know how to blend the 2 then you could uses the stage for both.

I just love the sound of a ported enclosure over a sealed. I got in one of the subs today but something went wrong becasue the other sub is still in Las Vegas, NV. So i dont know what went wrong so ill have to wait another week more thank likely to get it. But it is what it is.

Am putting them in a 2000 ext. cab dodge dakota. And ported most definately. Am using a AQ2200D to power them.

So now am hearing the ssd w/ flatwind coil is similar to the re audio sx, but i thought the Q was similar? Which is true? And which sub has the better bottom end sound Q or SX?

I order my Q 15's with free BP power and red dustcaps last friday. They are suppose to be here tomorrow. Am nervous and cant even sleep man, i just cant wait to see them, OMG. I think am going to pull my locks out from the excitement. Just a few more hrs and ill have my babies. lol. Post pic when they get in. Jah bless.

I just ordered 2 fi Q 15s Friday (02/06/09). I know that it takes 2-3 building days plus the time it takes to deliver but I have heard that UPS just leave yr stuff at the door if they dont get an answer. Where i live if u leave stuff out it WILL be stolen. Is there a way for me to to find out the status of my order and its tracking number? Thanks

The audioque components was also one that i was looking at. So yr saying that i need to dynamat the inside of the door and where the speaker rest on the door? Thanks man. Any other input?

I just ordered to Fi Q 15 subs and a AQ2200D amp. I currently have some Best Buy pioneer speakers in my truck and would like to know what i should up-grade to for better sound quality at high bass volumes. I am putting this setup in an ext. cab dodge dakota, so i will have to get 2 pair of these speakers or component system. I am will to spend up to about the $200 range. Any suggestions? Ok, i just bought 2 Fi Q 15's with BP Power and a AQ2200D amp for my truck. I have a 2000 ext. cab dodge dakota and am looking for some enclosure help. I currently have an idea for a certain ported wedge design with my amps fixed to the bottom but it is only 6.2 cu.ft. net with 78 sq.in of port.
