Fi Q 15" No Sound :(
The reason for my asking is, when i wired the sub to 2 ohms as if the terimnals were in phase i dont get anything from it. But when i wire it backward i get it to work but my amp shut down whenever i turn it up. My amp is a jl 1800 which is 2 ohms stable. It seems that i can wire the sub to 1 ohm but not 2 ohms. Any suggestions for this problem. Thanks

Fi Q 15" No Sound :(
So if this is the case, wouldnt the sub only be able to be ran at 1 ohm? I tried running it at 2 ohms, as stated above and i got no sound. With the terminals out of phase, can the sub still be wired to 2 ohms?

Fi Q 15" No Sound :(
Ok ill try switching it. The DMM shows anyway from .9~1 ohm per side. So maybe they are just out of phase. Ill check it when i get off from work. Thanks

Fi Q 15" No Sound :(
So i had 2 of these sealed and decided on going one ported. I had the other in my room for about a month, before selling it to my brother. He got through with the enclosure built, and put the sub in but there was no sound. Its a dual 1 ohm so it is wired to 2 ohms (triple checked it). When we hook up either side, the sub will play, but when wired to 2 ohms there is no sound. Tried the sub in another car and the exact same thing happens. Any suggestions on what is going on?

Which Sub??
Your right man. I spoke to Nick a few times within the last 2 wks, but it was about the DR. I've since came into some extra money so i was thinking about the DP. Ill call Nick this coming wk and find out what he thinks and ill go from there. Thanks for the input guys.

Which Sub??
So are you wanting SQ or SPL? What voice coil option? Any reason you are stuck on these two subs? I would personally go with the DP out of the 2. Either will work as long as you are careful. And out of curiosity what happened with the Fi Q 15? Last I read you were going to get the Fi and run it off that same amp. Dual 2 option. I loved how the Q sounds, but it was lacking in output. I bougth it because i didnt want to buy an spl sub and it sound like shit, like others that i have bougth. Ive been on SSA for a while now and heard about SPL subs that have very good SQ. So the subs listed are the ones that I have heard a lot about and thought that the price was cool. Besides that i always wanted an Incriminator

Which Sub??
OK, I know that this topic will piss off 95.9999% of you guys, lol. But am using a AQ2200D and wanting to know which sub would be most suited for its intended purpose. Am deciding between the IA DR or DP. Am just wanting to know which would be most suited with the power. Am using either for a daily driver that sounds good but can get loud. Thanks

Damping Truck
I current own a 15” Fi Q and am in the process of upgrading to a 15” IA Death Penalty. Need some info (help) on how to deaden my truck, what should I used, what areas to deaden and the cost of materials. I drive a 2000 Dodge Dakota so for the most part, am just thinking that I may only need to deaden the back panel (the rear is gutted), sides, doors and possible the roof (if it’s absolutely necessary). I saw a guy on here with 2 18s in a dakota but didn’t find him while searching, hoping he can chime in. Any input would be great. Thanks

AQ 2200 Clipping Led
So your saying the bass boost knob controls the gain and not the............the bass boost?? So why is it that when you turn the bass boost on the amp down completely and try use the knob, it doesnt work?

AQ 2200 Clipping Led
Am using the AQ2200 and from my search here, other froums, internet, and other guys running the amp, it does reated power (I personally didnt test it). With my HO alternator (200+ Amps), 2 batts (stock and one in the trunk (135 AH), and the big 3 done with double 0 gauge, my voltage doesnt drop below 14.2 volts at full tilt. Wouldnt my electrical be enough to sustain a steady 2000 watt from this amp?

AQ 2200 Clipping Led
Ill ask and see what he says. But refering back to my last post, did you do any test to see how far off or how close it may be to the actual clipping signal?
-
AQ 2200 Clipping Led
Your right. I just spoke with the guy from AQ and he said exactly that. Blinking in the rythem of the bass is ok, but if its solid then its indicating clipping, and he says that it is accurate. ///M5, not trying to be an a$$hole here, have you done a test with the amp that shows the indicator was off? If you did, how much was it off by? Was as it clipping before or after the light comes on? Does the indicator show clipping anywhere close to the actual clipping point? Just was to know if I can use it for a reference, but ill set them over again once I get back home.

AQ 2200 Clipping Led
Right now I have a 230 HO alternator, Big 3 done with 0 gauge (double runs), and a 135 AH battey with the stock battery up front. Will I need more? When i turn the gain down, i can barely hear any type of bass. And yes ///M5 this I now know and I am getting another sub.

AQ 2200 Clipping Led
From earlier post I listen to a lot of old reggae so sometimes the bass is lacking so ill use the bass boost. I dont use more than half turn of the knob because with any more i still dont get any extra output. So to set the gain i had it turned 3/4 of the way up just to be on the safe side and i dont used it when am listening to any type of bass heavy music (rap, new reggae). So did i do it the incorrect way? How should I do it? Some old reggae music have very little bass unleast i use a little bit of bass boost. On other music like rap, its all that way down and am still clipping. Should I just disreguad it?

AQ 2200 Clipping Led
This is the link explaining the steps i took setting my gain: How To: Set your Amplifier Gain - SSA Car Audio Forum. I listen to a lot of old reggae so sometimes the bass is lacking so ill use the bass boost. I dont use more than half turn of the knob because with any more i still dont get any extra output. So to set the gain i had it turned 3/4 of the way up just to be on the safe side and i dont used it when am listening to any type of bass heavy music (rap, new reggae). Does this sound about right. Using a DMM is the only way i can set it, because i dont have a o-scope handy. Is there another way you would suggest? Thanks

AQ 2200 Clipping Led
Am using this amp currently with a 15" Fi Q with BP Power in a 4cu.ft box @ 30Hz and it sounds pretty good. What i need to know is, how precise is the clipping led on the bassboost knob? I set my gain the way that it was explained in the "How To" section of the forum but anytime i turn the volume to about "half" (20/40) the clipping light being to blink. The Q is wired to 2 ohms and the 2200 does 1300 watts at that rating whicn means a gain setting of 50.9 volts. To be on the safe side, i set my gain to 47.5 volts with a DMM at 3/4 volume with all my current setting. Am not sure of what am doing wrong. Any help would be great, thanks.
