Welcome. They are great subs man ive heard them in person, and they can get loud as a mudda f#&$er. But let us know what you want from your system. SPL? SQ? Will this setup be for daily uses or comp? How much space you working with? What are you looking to spend? Have you upgraded your electrical system? What size woofers are you planning on using? Just an idea of what you want and am sure other members would gladly help you out.
  2. I guess ill just take it to an auto shop. Thanks a lot.

DD Audio, Audioque, and DC Sound Lab also make great products. Since you have the money, and willing to look around, I think these companies may also be good options. Not to take anything away from your current choice. Just my opinion.
  4. How can i measure the amps my alternator puts out?
  5. Thanks for the input guys
  6. I've seem guys use a spray to coat the exteria of their enclosures instead of using carpet. I dont know if its bedliner or texture spray which may be the same or not. Am asking because i dont know what it is. I was just wanting to know what it is and how much i will need. Thanks
  7. Where can i buy some of that spray that i see guys using instead of carpet? Am needing black (gloss) and Charcoal gray. Thanks in advance for the input.
  8. Hey nice build dude. Where did you get the spray that you finished the box with? That looks real good man.
  9. Ok, the manufacture says to use 12-16 sq.in of port per cb.ft of volume. What i was asking was how would i calculate that?
  10. I have a question. How do you calculate the port area if your using multiple round ports since its recommended that 12-16 sq.in be used per cb.ft?
  11. I've decided to go with PVC ports which will give me more box volume.
  12. Am wanting to get another bettery to help upgrade my electrical. Does anyone know if the special application Kinerik HC 2000 is the same as the regular HC 2000 because i can find those for a lot cheaper price than the regular ones? I think i read somewhere that this years regular model has higher amps rating than last years special applications model. How true is this? Thnaks in advance for the response.
  13. Nope. Thats all the space that I have. Am planning on putting my amp and battery on one side of the enclosure and i think that i maybe pusing it just a lil bit with the current dimensions. If i used an external port, 7" would be the full length that i could extend it. The enclosure is going behind the seats of a 2000 Dodge Dakota Ext. cab so its kinda tight. Do you have any other design ideas that i might be able to use??
  14. Shit, I wish. lol. But since I already have the 2 15s which is more cone area, I was just trying to see what would be the best setup for those. Havent heard a 18" sub yet those. I have owned subs from 8" to 15" but have not yet seen a 18" sub in person. Sucks I know. My aim for this setup is to get that LOW ground pounding bass that i heard the Q is famous for. The seal enclosure that I had them in got low but not like Ive heard ppl talking about throughout the forum. That is why I want to go with a ported enclosure. Am wanting to see if I can produce that low end bass. Am not really worried about the high end as much.
  15. I agree with you both, but these are the max dimensions that I currently have. I maybe able to squeez an inch more in height but thats it. Would it just be better if i used these dimensions for a sealed enclosure? Would I be able to notice the difference in output if I used the seal instead of the ported?
  16. Whats the net volume that you have after all displacement? What is your freqency range?
  17. You will have to extend the port length to get a lower frequency or make the box alittle smaller with the same port length which i dought you would want to do. Bigger box produces a better lower end
  18. I posted under another topic but calculated the wrong numbers so here is the updated version. The other post topic is misleading so that is why i posted a second time. This should answer any questions of why i posted another topic. I apologize Admin. This link shows the design outline: http://s883.photobuc...re.jpg#comments Here are the numbers: Wedge Enclosure Width: 43" Height: 27" Top Depth: 8" Bottom Depth: 20" Total Volume: 7.885 cb.ft. Port (32Hz) Internal: 20.0"H X 4.0"W X 24"L External: 20.75"H X 4.75"W X 24"L Port Displacement: 1.3689 cu.ft. Woofer Displacement: 0.38 cu.ft. (2 Fi Q 15s) Bracing Displacement: 0.1255 cu.ft. Net Volume: 7.885 - 1.3689 - 0.38 - 0.1255 = 6.0106 cb.ft. Will this design work for 2 15 Fi Q's? If not, can anyone give me some enclosure ideas? Thanks in advance for your response.
  19. Had some miss calculations, will post recalculation later.
  20. Here is a link that shows a sketch of the enclosure (without the brace), followed by the enclosure information. Just needing some feedback. Yes? No? Modifications? These are the max dimensions that i can fit. Thanks in advance for the response. http://s883.photobuc...re.jpg#comments Wedge Enclosure Dimensions (Exterior) Height: 26” Width: 43” Top Depth: 8” Bottom Depth: 20” Total Volume: 7.576 cb.ft. (No Displacement) Port Dimension (32 Hz) Internal: 24.5”H X 3.25”W by 21.0”L External: 24.5”H X 4.0”W by 21.0”L Port Displacement = 1.191 cu.ft. Sub Woofer Displacement = 0.38 cu.ft. (2 15” Fi Qs) A 6 cu.ft. Enclosure is what’s desired after all displacement, so we have 6 + 0.38 + 1.191 = 7.571 cb.ft. I plan on using one strip of plywood as if making chambers for each woofer with large 6” holes to maintain strength but decrease bracing displacement. Am using the Baltic Birch and its pretty stiff. What do you think about the design? Will it be sufficient?
  21. Thanks a lot for your help dude.
