  1. Sell the alt and buy a bigger one? OR use it and get a couple of large batteries like the Powermaster D3100. That capacitor is going to end up being yet another waste of money if you buy it.
  2. You opened up the can my friend. Woofer size does not correlate to woofer speed or what notes it can or can't hit. It's all box dependent.
  3. There's really no way around the distortion. Simply put, a onboard camera microphone wasn't built to handle 140dB's+. You might be able to find a camera that can take an external mic and then pic up a microphone better suited to that pressure level (see kick drum microphones). But even then, most of them will be rated to only 120dB.
  4. What do you already have and what ohm load are you running them at?
  5. What was the reason the Remote wire came undone?
  6. There are no advantages or downfalls. Car audio is a hobby, if turning your car into an SPL monster is what you want to do, go for it!
  7. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=3704
  8. Somehow the words "Crappy circuit breaker" and "flea market" set off alarms in my head. Dunno why...
  9. Get the DVC 2 ohm versions and wire like this:
  10. The Havoc would be good, as would the SSA ICON and the Mach 5 Audio IXL 15.2.2
  11. Welcome to me moving your thread to the correct section. Again. C'mon Panky. It's not hard.
  12. I'll used window caulk on the seams inside the box
  13. Immensely. Helps me with my planning stage. Which is half the battle.
  14. Most of the newer Crunch amps put out rated power or above I was surprised to see.
  15. You need to be prepared to keep your voltage in the 12's. Two red tops isn't going to do that for you. You'll need to upgrade your alternator to something in the neighborhood of 200 amps and get a more stout battery under the hood (or in the trunk).
  16. How did you do 3-way active + sub with the H701?
  17. I bet Cammie was happy to get rid of all the scrap
  18. The BTL isn't a sub that's supposed to sound good or get low. It's supposed to kill the meter. You should probably step down to the BL depending what power you have.
  19. You may get some port noise, but with a flared port it'll be minimal at best. You really can't go with anything larger because it would have to be longer.. and you only have 14" to work with.
  20. Damnit Neil, I didn't need MOAR to read.
  21. It's a birth sheet.. of course it does what it says it does.
  22. At 28hz using 2 2" ports they need to be 7.59". Use a flared port if possible.
  23. If you're worried about output, port the Q. It'll still sound better than the BL ported. Tune it to something around 29hz-32hz and call it a day.
  24. Go for it. No one here will hold you back.
