  1. Hooked up a voltage reader yesterday and could not get it to drop, and it didn't do the volume drop at all yesterday. So my guess is that it's just being temperamental. I'll get a yellow top as soon as i can though.
  2. Suspension is more expensive, but definitely worth the price. It looks much better than just a body lift.
  3. Just a suggestion before you go wheeling in something you drive everyday. Get a pos somewhere that is a bit more offroad worthy, lift it sky high, and wheel the shiz out of it. Therefore, it's actually not as expensive and you can beat the living hell out of the car, pop it on a trailer, and roll out in comfort.
  4. Thank you. So i can read it from just the battery? And yeah, I'm building a crx style box right as soon as i can.
  5. To tell you the truth i don't know. I have wanted to install a digital voltage gauge for the longest time. The voltage drop was my first thought, and I'm thinking about hooking up a battery charger somewhere around the amp to see what the voltage is like back there. Any more simple ideas of getting an idea for a voltage reading?
  6. When my subs are playing (not on full tilt) sometimes the volume just drops. The music volume stays the same, but the subwoofer volume drops. The amp should NOT be clipping. I set it up for a volume of 30 with the sub level at +6. My usual listening range is a 20-26 with the sub level at -6-0. The setup is two alpine type r 12"s in a 6th order bandpass powered by an old school Lightening Audio 1000D at one ohm. I have a 200 amp h.o alt with NO big three. I can tell you the headunit if you need it.
  7. Ok so i took a closer look today and i figured it all out. I blew the bottom of the left port clean off the screws. Its rattling like hell, also letting most of the air through on the low notes. So time for a new box. I would like to do a crx style.
  8. All that looks good my friend. Very nice install so far. That is one hell of an amp though. Are my eyes deceiving me or are there two power inputs on that amp?
  9. Well the funny thing is after the car sits for a little its just as loud again? It cant be the amp overheating its sitting out to get plenty of air. And i want to take the subs out and completely build a whole new box. Crx style.
  10. So, i was driving down the road today with the subs playing, not quite at full tilt but pretty loud and all of a sudden a rattle starting coming from the box, and a lack of volume did as well. This is a bandpass so the front of the subs are not visible, but you can see the rear of the subs by looking through the aeroports. The rattle seems to come from the bottom of one of the port walls i can visibly see vibrating. This is not the first time the port has come loose but this is the first time there has been a lack of volume. These are two alpine type r 12"s off of an old school lightening audio 1000d. Signal is not clipped. I do have a 200amp alternator without a big 3, but only have one battery. Could the lack of volume possibly be a voltage drop?

Welcome, that setup looks very clean.
  12. Damn UPS to hell!!!! I want my wardens..... it seems its going in tommrow boys..... NOOOOOOOO
  13. Do NOT like the '10 Stang.
  14. It sounds really good It can get pretty high, and decently low, but not the real, real low notes. Yeah I know what you mean there. This one has a diesel conversion. Only one in the U.S. with the Isuzu 2.8l Turbo diesel that i know of. We did the conversion. I also have another one that i have stripped and am either going to bobtail or trayback. 5" on 35"s right as soon as the $$ comes in. Not familiar what diesels were on the RR. But I think you made a solid choice with the 2.8 Isuzu. I wonder if it's the same 2.8 as in the Mitsubishi Pajero's. This is a friend's car, main reason why I said I'm used to seeing bobtails 35's but unsure of lift. Yeah the 2.8 pulls fine, and makes insane torque even at idle. Thats a nice range rover, i bet it goes over some ridiculous stuff. Im in va, and there is roav (rover owners association of virginia) that holds rallys every year with offroading. Its pretty nice.

  16. I can't find it anywhere. Is it possible to post it here?
  17. My Gf can't stand the volume knob past 20 but after her friend rode in the car and loved it, she actually asked me to turn it up. She's coming around. My Dad thinks its a waste of time and money though.
  18. Well ... it is the second box i have ever built.
  19. My Current system is this: Headunit: Clarion DXZ785USB Amp: Old School LA 1000D Subs: 2x Alpine Type R 12" Components: All stock, but they keep up. Tweets in the a frame, and 5 1/4" in the front with two 5 1/4" in the back. Forgot to add i have a 200amp alt. to power this. ANd all the 1/0 guage wire to run a big three. All of this is in a restored 1993 Range Rover Classic LWB The Box Design: Credits to Fallen at Roe. He designed this 6th order bandpass.
  20. Good luck seeing your amp again my friend. I heard about them quite a few times. Do not do business with them.
  21. I have a pair of type r's i like very much. My friend has a pair of punch p2's i was pretty impressed with, but i like mine better. Either way your gonna be happy.
  22. Hey from southern VA. Bout an hour or hour and a half outta richmond.
  23. Why can't I live near you guys?
