i'll argue that some... i know of a certain 18 in 5.5 cubes with 73in^2 of port....and it's cone area and xmax is that of a pair of 15's. (solo x 18 off 4kwrms) i've also done a pair of 15's in 5 cubes with 50in^2 of port. (treo ss's off a 1100d) adding area should only help with port noise and not affect tuning enough for anyone's ears to hear. and for the majority of 15's on the palnet that are compareable to trreo ss's, 35"in^2 of port per is pretty damn good. and so is 4 cubes per driver. if the subs are more along the lines of a mojo for instance, then 5 cubes per with about 50in^2 of port will be recommended by most manufactorers. 125in^2 of port for a pair of 15's in 12 cubes? that's going to make for a potentially "muddy" situation. and how much lowend do you think your missing with 8 cubes and 28hz tuning? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  3. the crossover looks cheap, liek that's where they are saving their money. the option to mount the tweeters either in the cone or as a seperate isn't new. i have yet to see a speaker where to change it is a hard thing to do either... and i love the preproduction part. why can't they come out with the item first and then sell it? i mean actually stock the damn things. i wouldn't buy them. i'll spend a bit more money and get the memphis syncs. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  4. seen that aaron..sweet! good morning all. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  5. thanks guys. the thing about the screens, well, they look factory. which is cool, but almost boring. and no, not the pillow, lol, the current setup which i am trying to get a picture of. the enclosure, in person especially, looks like there is more to it then there really is. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  6. great looking car! definitely needs the lowering, in the side pic it almost looks as though it's just a rolling chassis, the nose is pointed skyward. that is about the beefiest nose ever put on a car..lol...screams mean wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee:slayer:
  7. a set of 6.5 componets over the 6x9's every day of the week. $100? memphis pr's....that's all i can think of...lol.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  8. correct me if i'm wrong, but.... if your chasing tenths, ie: competiting, you want as little resistance as possible. the more voltage, the more power, so... that means you want more surface area, more strands, more wire, correct? thicker wire adds resistance, correct? now, i'm pretty sure i'm correct there, and i'm sure pimped, you are wanting to compete. and while i know your run will be uber short, the fact remains that wire can add or take away a tenth or two. that's the reason alot of hardcore guys run multipule runs of 1/0, on top of the fact they are using 10kwrms of power. for daily, you'd never tell a difference, and the welding wire would be sweet. but for those chasing tenths, it's something to consider..... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  9. x3 onthe package deals for substage and amps.. i vote rainbows over focals as well. i wasn't all that impressed with my focals after hearing my sq's. and x3 on the alarm! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  22. sorry, no outside pics. it's an 2006 h1 black alpha station wagon..lol.. and away we go....this is mostly another shops gear. the owner spent 6 grand with them, got the head unit in it's shitty install, 3 pairs of boston acoustic 5.25 in factory locations, a jl 12w7 in the recommended enclosure that looked like a prefab and the alpine pdx series amps stacked under the rear seat. what you are about to see is all of our work save the head unit install..... the head unit...just basic stuff here...an eclipse double din with dvd navigation, sirius stellite and that's pretty much it..lol... the front monitor and clarion source switch,. we decided tjhis looked too much like a pillow and glassed it into the silver strip inthe dash to it's right. i don't have pictures of that yet, but will try. it's sweet looking now. teh 10" rear monitor. it's glassed where the rear climate controls used to me. believe it or not, this was once a vcs flip down screen..lol...if you look to the right you will see the clarion source switch and just above that, that little hole is for the screens IR. both screens were done by james herren of dbdrag fame..lol...my work follows... behind this boring panel where the midgate used to live is the works. one 750 watt inverter, one memphis mclass 1002 amplifier, one batcap 800 and teh clarion source switch. not too mention all the iwres...this later changed as the owner decided he wanted his xbox 360 permantely mounted. the normal tunnel area now houses the xbox. will try to get pics of this later... and my pride and joy, lol...teh w7 is now in 3 cubes tuned to 32hz. on the drivers side is the pdx 4.150, a 4 channel amp. one the passanger side the 1.1000, the d class sub amp. these are indeed sweet little amps. the speaker wire connectors are funky, but otherwise they are sweet. the black traingle to the left is where the port is. the top trim panels were originally going to be vinyl, but at the last minute the vinyl shop reported the vinyl never came in. so on went carpet. i think it looks better. and there is no FG in this. or resin. this is an all wood trim panel that is primered and painted. also, there is blue LEDs wrapped around each amp. also, there is a pair of 8" L5's in .2ft^3 sealed enclosures ran off the memphis amp under each rear seat. no pictures cause they are pretty simple. they are high passed at 40hz to help with the midbass region... so, whatcha think? we are kinda in an arguement...james says the screens are the highlight, i think the rear enclosure, trim panels are. what do you think?? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  23. i'll ask you....lol.. can i have a copy of LEAP please? pretty please? ok, i'm on my knees begging... please??????? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

reopened...it stays civil, or it gets closed, again. debate away........... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  25. king...depends on what you are after...ultimate sq? 2ft^3 tuned to 28hz will deliver that. little more output? same volume, tune a bit higher, around 32-34hz. as to the 90* adn rounding..that's to improve airflow. in a daily box not absolutely necessary, but recommended. and no, that's not a transmission line, it's what eldo jsut referred to as a labrinyth port. pm aneonrider, he does box plans. tell him what your after, give him your maximum dimensions and a few bucks, and you'll have yourself a solid set of plans. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
