  1. WELCOME!! and but your ht sounds like an earthquake waiting to happen!! sweet! i'm drooling all over the keyboard thinking about an 4800wrms dual 15" rl-s ht sub stage! my god!! you are my hero!! but seriously, we need pics and a review!!! glad to see ya aboard the soundsplinter team! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  2. your right, a pair of 15" L7's would be a great choice. but even they can't hang with a solo x. though they stand a better chance then some. the added cone area is a wonderful thing. it is amazing how low the solo's can drop..lol..even the 10's get silly down low. 18's FTW!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  3. absolutely..night and freakin day difference from the 05's. kicker did their research with these new monsters...so much so that 4 8" L7's are destined to find their way under the back seat of my silverado. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  4. most two channel amps AREN'T 2 ohm mono stable. 98.9% of them are rated for 4 ohm mono. but you seriously need to look into a nice strong mono block that's 2 ohm stable. memphis mc1500d comes to mind. talk to flakko here about us amps. look into zed and powerbass as well. all have products capable of gettign you where you want to go. since you rewired, has the problem gone away? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  5. meaningless post...i figured after all that reading, i needed to post something..lol.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  6. cone size goes to the L7, and if it's an 06 version, it's power handling is alot better then before. the sx can handle gobs of power and can move quite a bit of air itself. as far as sq goes, that's up to your ears. L7's can be clean woofers, but can be tricky to get that way. they can go boom with the best of them though. i've not heard an sx, so i can't really comment. but i'd wager they will both make you death fairly easiy, given the right enviroment. iflip a coin, lol. and go by your gut. i don't think you'll be disappointed with either. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  7. ummm..u haven't heard a good install my friend. and squares don't crack in the corners either from my experience, but they will seperate under the cone, where the support meets the cone, under extreme power, say like 2-3x it's rms. and even then, it's a very simple fix. solo x's have an extreme amount of potential, you just have to put them in the right enviroment. will a typical solo x install beat a treo install in sq? more then likely, no. but will a solo x drop lower then a treo? you beat your ass they will. and, a solo x can indeed be a fairly clean and accurate sub. i've owned treo ss subs myself, i know their potential. i loved them to death, well, until i sold them to tirefryr. but to be honest, i'd run s12x's over ss 15's or even ssx, csx 15's anyday. 18's FTW!!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  8. i'm out..time for work. i'm already late. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  9. damn tom..lol...that place looks like heaven! vladd...rl-p FTW. and it'll compete with any xbl^2 for SQ and low distortion. and IME, will go deeper. but i've never played with ava's..just an xxx... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  10. customize your vehicle.com a decent little forum...hass car audio, models and performance/upgrade type of thing. they have a little "IHoP".. pretty decent little place. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  11. i like flakko's idea. maybe not exactly our own online mag, but something similiar. like a newsletter. let each manufacturer have their own little section for updates, new products, specials, etc, etc. maybe have a 12volt section, with a q&a thing. maybe an advise type of thing. an installer's corner. something along those lines. teh forum is looking good! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  12. looks really, really clean. you guys did a helluva job!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  13. neo or ferrite? that wide of a range, i'd pay 35-50 a driver depending upon motor. IB in door more then likely. 2 way set up. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  14. while they do indeed get low, they can't hang with the s18x...they do sound better at it though... 18's FTW!!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  15. you sure you don't want one of each? one for daily and the other for competition? wanna wager what the sale price is??? my guesses...$99 and $199... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  16. voltage drop will cause an amp to shut off, if it has that built in for protection. scott is on to something as well. if it's only happening when you crank the gain and the volume knob, you are more then likely clipping the amp. and it's probbly going into protect. take his advice and set your gain correctly and leave it alone. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  17. work shirt/bowling shirt would be kewl. if these things run small, i'll need a 3xl. i gots big shoulders. teh username idea is cool too! that would be sweet..... keep us informed. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  18. butt it's a classic! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  19. i'm out fellas gotta design another bandpass for a lincoln tomorrow and finish up another escalade....yay! respect wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  20. tom, don't worry...pics of the chumparo will be forth coming bro! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  21. i never thought of it as class. just old school teaching from my pops. "if your man enough to knock him down, be man enough to pick him up. and shake his hand regardless of the outcome." it's second nature usually. there have been times that they got a boot or three before i picked them up or was removed from the scene. but more times then not, i'll stick out my hand and hoist them up to their feet. respect. gotta love that word. in jamaica, respect is what they say when you end a conversation or instead of when we say like later bro, they do the fist tap and say respect. pretty cool actually. but damn, someone said i had class. what the hell am i coming too? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  22. hey...we have a camaro, 1968, at work. i'll get some pics tomorrow. was done by visions audio in texas. have no clue where. two 12" jbl gti subs IB, a small crown (3k wrms) pushing them, a couple other jbl amps...anyway, i'll get pictures. why do we have it? remeber i said done by visions audio? well, while the install is pretty damn good, the wiring sucks..lol. the alarm chits on itself and disables the car for no reason. it's a clifford, so we get to play chase the wiring. and try not to scratch anything, the car is headed for the B-J auction. the moron thinks he's going to get $80k outa this car. while the paint is hot, the motor is cool (ramjet 350) and teh install pretty sweet, the bodywork is shabby. the 18's and 20's tuck nicely, but the airride has issues. and the silly way he put mids in FG pods in front of the front seats, you can't move them. wait till you see the pics... anyway...overall the car is an easy 8 outa 10. but man, the owner is an idiot..lol wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  23. somehow i knew you'd like it.. but dammit, i don't get it. the guy knows kids live there, he knows there is more then $10k worth of dogs there (yeah, probably closer to 15k, which is a lot considering there isn't that many dogs) and still proceeds to be an idiot. i guess some people never learn. it did feel good though. like a chit ton of stress was gone. my father-in-law and i had a prety good laugh when my f-i-l mimiked the guy falling down. did a slow-mo replay..was sweet! wow..i need another beer! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  24. i worked out a bit tonight...kinda. went to breed my female at my bro-in-laws kennels. while there a pickup goes sideways around the corner and damn near takes out my truck. i yell "slow the falk down", the dude stands on the brakes. so i walk up to the truck and say " you gotta problem?" he says yep and proceeds to get outa his truck. i tell him he needs to slow it down because he damn near hit my truck, he says " falk you, i'll beat your...." as i picked him up off the ground he starts in about how he didn't want any trouble and calls me by my name. i'm like who the hell is this guy? turns out, i dated this dudes sister like 15 years ago. so it's the second time i stomped his stupid ass...lol... anyway, that's it. not ramos quality, but it's all i got. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
