1971 impala build
yeah, tom, we know...lol... but anyway, a few more pics. the car is back at the shop for some interior touch up stuff, so i'll try to get some full body shots for ya tom. here's the remainder of what i did, the amps installed. ont he driver's side, the memphis mc2004. on the passanger side is the mc1000d @ 2ohm. he thinks it's putting out it's full 1100wrms, lol, but since the treo ss is only rated for 500 and it's in bandpass, the 600wrms it's getting is way more then enough. we really don't want to have to change the thing..lol... and now the tweeter and 6x9 install. this is jame's handywork. teh owner didn't want his A piller touched, so james mounted the m class tweeters where his old ones were. now, we call the owner "show car" because he thinks all of his cars (the 71 imp, teh 96 imp ss and his deville) are all of show car quality. the imp ss i'll agree on. the 71's trucnk i'll agree on. the rest?? well, you decide..lol... the seats are actually nice, but they don't recline much, nor do they lean forward at all. that makes getting in and out a female dog. i hope you enjoyed the buildup as much as i hated building the box, lol. though with the way the box works, i'm very proud of the whole install. trunk that is. again, i'll try to get some full body shots today. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

New H/U and amps...
have you considered sony's cdx-gt805dx? it has a 7 band eq PER speaker. all kinds of alignment goodies and x-overs. here's a quick look at crutchfield anyway, the shop i work at carries these and we've had awesome luck with them. and they sound really good as well. but if you don't know what you're doing and try to tweak it, you can really mess up the sound..lol.. as far as amps go, memphis? mc1500d on the sub end and a couple of mc2004 for the high side maybe? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

HOOPTIES!!
a 1970/80-something diesel MB... a banker's kids put in these 12" audiobahn flame subs and amp. enjoy! the cool ass spare tire carrier one of the subs, the cap and part of the wiring..notice the two 2" ports? they had two per sub... the amp rack, or rack amp..whichever. notice all the knobs and their sttings? the kids couldn't figure out why this setup wasn't loud and sounded like crap. still isn't loud after setting everything right. and remember those ports up front? and me saying it still wasn't loud after properly setting the amp? here's why...yep, terminal cup cutouts with no terminal cups..lol...and about 6yds of polyfill in a 6 cube box. and lastly, the neat wiring at the back. they used lamp cord for the speaker wire outa the amp and then used wire nuts to attach that to the blue and silver wire. they also had the rca's running in tot he OUTPUT side of the amp. the only reason it played was backfeeding. after changing the rca's, it got a little louder. wonder why?? well, that's it for now. at least this car we get to fix right later. it will eventually house a pair of memphis 15's int he back seat area. what i didn't get a picture of was the removal of the inside rearview for the drop down screen and the ps2 sitting on the passanger floorboard. maybe when it comes back in..lol.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

HOOPTIES!!
this is the thread for the hoopties. those lame ass, stupid installes, paint, body kits or just plain ragged out rides. find em and post em and we all get to laugh at them!!! i'll start off with the sprite mobile!! the outside.. and the inside..... luckily all we did was clean up the h/u install and put in a remore keyless/alarm. notice the speakers in the front door? yep, one screw holding them in. and the astroturf carpet?? one thing i didn't get was the fact that on the inside rear galss you could see the way they wrapped the vinyl..and that car actually took second at a local car show!! the car that won?? a bone stock 07 escalade on 28's.... falking idiots..lol.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

1971 impala build
dennis, that is the basic "final" product. gotta clean up some fitment problems and install the memphis mc1000d on the passanger side and the memphis mc2004 on the driver's. there are green neons under the amps and in the rear tailight covers. elias, no bristles. for what the guy is paying for this install, he's gotten more then he deserves. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

- 1971 impala build
here we go!! pictures!! the treo staring at ya in it's new home! looking in at the semi completed amp rack and teh top trim... random pices carpeted, installed green neons (yeah, yuck), and the 1 farad cap and if yopu look at the trunk hinge you'll see a trigger. that's what will tun the neons on when you pop the trunk. there's one in the other hinge for the alarm. and the almost finished project. and a bit of an overview...still some things lieft to be done. rear deck, make some better fitment inside the trunk and other various little things. but for all intents and purposes, it's done. i'll get a pic of the rear deck and some more of the car monday, i hope. so, whatcha think?? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- coustic h/u
ok..quick update... the ddm-50 is in truck! and i'll say this... i like it. it can lose some gimmicks for more practical items (like lose the reverb for crossovers). have access to the "eq" from the radio, not just the cd/dvd player. have a real eq, not just the preset stuff. you get the point. while it fits in the dash trim panel excellently, it does take a bit of modification to the plastic bracing in dash to make it fit. nothing serious, but you have to break apart the area where the factory "support plug" would go. but once done, the thing looks like a factory piece! i mean, no flash, but pure funtion, which i like. and it should keep theft done as well. the buttons don't light and you can't access everything from the touchscreen. that needs fixed. i need one or the other because i hate using the remote. it could stand to lose some of the gimmicks, like reverb(which has several options. while neat to play with, it isn't needed IMO) for more practical items like crossovers and a subwoofer control. it does have a sub out, but you don't have the option to adjust it from the headunit. voltage is fine with 2.5 for front/rear and 4 volt on the sub. i'll get the actual specs in a few. all in all, it's been a decent little headunit so far. some good, some bad, but what isn't? i will do a better review, with a list of all options, later when my finger heals. it's hard as hell to type with this damn bandage on..lol... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- f'n loud
good luckand !!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- How old are YOU?
