and i've messed with my new camera a lil and can record the vids in smaller size (duh ) so i'll jsut redo the "freek-a-leek" vid..lol.. another vid posted in the rl-s thread...and some solo pr0n on it's way!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- Welcome to the IHoP
welp..i'm bored..lol.. and calling off work...heheh.....hopefully i'll get the rl-s on the tl tonight! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- Voice Coils Blew!
Kee...IME, the fubr is just that, fubred... anyway, and it's not really going to work with the pg amp, which IIRC, is 500 x1 @ 4ohms. the d4 fubr won't get to 4 ohms, only 2 or 8. if u want to wire it up in parallel and try it, go ahead.(again, IME with the xs2500, it should handle it) but please read the gain setting tutorial in the amp section of this forum. and turn ur bass control all the way down. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- rls pics
ok...how about this? http://media.putfile.com/100_00558995 i will be writing up a good review tomorrow sometime as i am going to try to get this thing on the TL tonight. mike, in this enclosure, i have noticed the peak to be in the mid 30's, however, the rolloff into the upper frequencies doesn't really happen until about 43-44hz. then it starts to tail off a bit. andeven the peak is somewhat gradual, as in 28hz is almost as loud as 30, which is almost as loud as 35, then it levels out, then it starts to drop about 44... all in all, the response in this box isn't bad. but i would suggest a port area minimum over 40in^2. there is mucho noise around tuning frequency, even with 32in^2. as u climb up into the 30's and 40's, it goes away. this sub can move some serious air!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- Welcome to the IHoP
u texas guys take it easy! (especially if u are in rita's path) wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- Welcome to the IHoP
anyone have a program to compress quicktime movies? everytime i try to download quicktime pro, it won't install. says my version of quicktime is newer... if i can't get a compressor, the really good video won't get put up wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- rls pics
good point on the basket diameter..i should've mentioned it..it is LARGER then most. i had to route this one out a bit in order for the rl-s to fit... my wife (and i) liekt he grille, thank you...lol..allows for quite a bit of excursion will providing a ton of protection.. and i wish i had more power to give it..it's nice... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- Welcome to the IHoP
good morning well, i jsut decided to download quicktime pro7... hopefully i'll be able to get the vid up soon!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- Welcome to the IHoP
i've got a 20mb movie i need to compress so that i can get it uploaded...it's in quicktime, any idea how i'm supposed to do that? btw, it's a video of the RL-s playing "freek-aleek" wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- rls pics
the music in that vid was on the xm radio in her truck, teh "Raw" channel i believe. if i can get this other vid uploaded, u'll see what it can do with "freek-a-leek"...lol, which means if u like that first vid, u're going to love this second vid.... and psycho....WOW describes this beast perfectly!! but a better "review" will be forthcoming! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- Voice Coils Blew!
is that sub a dual 2 ohm voicecoil? if so, and by wiring it up in parallel, you sent a bit more then 500wrms to it. the xs2500 is a two channel a/b amp, rated for 250wrms x 2 @ 2ohm, 125wrms x 2 @ 4ohm and 500 wrms x 1 @ 4ohm. it isn't designed to be ran at 1 ohm, which is what you wired it to by using a parallel wiring setup. you needed to wire up in series to achieve 4 ohm, which would have been fine. now, when i owned my xs2500, i was told it would indeed handle 1 ohm and produce about 1200wrms. so i wired it up for 1 ohm. and i'm surprised it didn't burn down my truck. that's how hot it got. it never did shut off, and though i never got it benched, i would say that it did produce real close to the 1kwrms level (going by what happened when i replaced the xs2500 with a st1000d memphis). that being said, you blew your sub due to a few reasons. from what i can gather, you've probably pushed it very hard the whole time you've had it, was pushing it with more power then you had thought, was more then likely sending it a clipped signal the whole time and depending upon box (which you didn't mention), probably fatigued the tinsel leads to the point that they broke (which is what i've gathered you've done by your statement " the positive on one side and the negative on the other" ). the cure? like aneonrider mentioned above, a recone. you'll have to contact powerbass as to the specifics. learn how to set your gains, there are a few good threads here to help with that. and (if my assumption is true about the sub being a dual 2) read up on some wiring diagrams to help out next time. btw, the "bass control" is another term for bass boost, which = bad! you definitely don't want that turned halfway up with the gain halfway up. all it does is reinforce a very narrow range of frequency, like 40-45hz, and will lead to premature clipping of the amp's signal. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- Maxxsonics Acquires MB Quart
well, at least MBQ didn't just go away when RF decided to drop them. going to be interesting to see what the "crosspollination" of products leads too... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- rls pics
i've uploaded a short one to ROE..but the good one is 20mb..lol...i will upload it tomorrow..and i'm uploading the short one now to putfile, it's only 6mb.. here's the link.... http://media.putfile.com/100_000678 wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- rls pics
welp... u will like this... orion 2500d, courtesy of nikuk... 12" rl-s, thanks mike, in 2.5ft^3 tuned to 28hz, thanks mrray13, and to protect the beast, a fishman grille anyway, as soon as i can get tem uploaded, VIDEO!!... intial thoughts... well, ran into a bit of an issue yesterday with the wiring...yay for new trucks... anyway, i will finish the wiring here in jsut a bit and will have an intial review tomorrow...sorry guys! between work (won't have a day off for a while), helping a friend get loud for finals and trying to get this thing done, not to mention the honey-do's around the house, i'm trying to cram 36 hours into a 24 hr day...so please bear with me... tomorrow, intial review! promise! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee - Welcome to the IHoP
