  1. lol yeah. i'm awaiting some pics to post for him... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  2. snag one of the few remaining rl-i 12s. they are a bit overbudget, but very much worth it!! and they will flat love that power. see the thread in teh soundsplinter forum, it's pinned up at the top. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  3. Yep, I'll just be following the route http://krang.hotrod.com/powertour/hrpt_200..._directions.pdf Are you going to Madison then as well? I think the meet has dwindled into a free place for Tom to stay in Minny and that is about it sorry. i had really wanted to go. but with this shit going on... anyway wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  4. have you tried the g21sf? the new slim frame makes for a far more comfortable, and controllable, grip. i love my glock 21sf, and i couldn't stand a glcok before. i can run a few hundred rounds through it and not bat an eye. mine doesn't have the full pictanny rail either, so standard holsters work. 9mm to me is still a bit too fast, too small. true, new ammo technology is greatly leveling the playing field, and capacity is an advantage. but for my money, 13 rounds of 230gr hp .45 or 14 rds of 165gr hp .40 is more then enough. i pray if i have to use either/or, it doesn't go past the first 2 or 3. but otherwise, i think you are spot on wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  5. not indiana, but southern illinois. over on the western border by missouri. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  6. lol, sorry. they are the state bird here. and as such, we can't shoot them. but i understand your pain, lol wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  7. T.O.P. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  8. lol, they beat the stro's?? st louis is the best baseball city on the planet!! and i hate baseball. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

2-0 celtics so far..jus tas i thought. now if the lakers win the next 4, lol... but again, i'd like to see KG get his. the man has definitely done paid his dues and deserves a ring. of course, kobe is kobe and i can't see teh celtics winning in LA. but i've been wrong before, lol wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  10. true, true.... so jon... any ideas what you are looking at? i love these kind of topics. hehe wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  11. damn john...lol. looks like it's all good after all. btw, you should always meter your coils beforehand, prevents this kind of stuff. also insures you have good subs. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  12. yes, we know that. BUT you stated, and i quote, our question is how in the hell did you run those subs BOTH IB and ported? i don't believe anyone here, or anywhere for that matter, has heard of a ported IB setup. could you please educate us? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I think he was referring to the fact that he used those 10s in both an IB setup AND a ported setup. not necessarily at the same time. =D i thought about that after i posted my last reply... however... where? why here, yet again... which, when taken in with the whole paragraph, looks as though you are clearly stating that you ran a ported IB setup. here... mind pointing out in that statment where you state you changed cars and ran different setups? i've read and reread, still it looks as though you ran an IB setup, ported @ 30hz. "i used to run pyramid 10s at 30hz IB and ported" 30 hz IB and ported, sure sounds as though you meant both to me. and maybe you didn't, but your post clearly shows that you were indeed inferring you did. bad sentence structure? maybe. incomplete thought? very likely. in any case, with the way you ramble, it was very confusing to say the least and the reason you were called on it. hope that helps.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  13. ^^^ what he said, though i would add that the current trend is tuning around 28hz up to 32. also, tuning should depend upon equipment and goals, as well as music taste and personal taste. all in all, 35hz is a good daily driver tuning, if one doesn't mind a box that could potentially be a bit peaky. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

and just a nitpick.... the orange basket/yellow kevlar cone and blue silk tweeter is a dead giveaway. your componets weren't m-class, they were/are memphis sqs. of course now they have a blck cone/grey basket with black silk. i've owned enough of those to start my own memphis audio store, lol. m-class from that era had black poly cones and metallic tweeters that were silver. otherwise, pretty sweet install! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  15. awesome matt! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  16. lol, give him time jon...lol wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  17. large 4ohm two channel....large regulated amp (jl slash, pg xenon iirc, alpine has one) or really, really big 1 or 2ohm mono block and run it at lesser power. 1-2k is plenty. i ran the proto 12 on an orion 2500d,stable to 1ohm(2500wrms @1),ran at 3 ohm for ~1200wrms, and off a factory h/u did a 139.9. in a small box! (2.5cubes @ 28hz w/32in^2 of port) too be honest, if you can find the older orion 2500d, it's perfect for the rl-s IMO. won't strain your electrical @ 3ohm (with box rise, definitely closer to 4) and if you add a second rl-s, you won't need to change amps. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  18. lol, I own 3 Shotguns and 2 rifles, just not a handgun yet. But times are getting tough, and the area I live in is on the rough side. Well less than 4 miles away is really bad Crack neighborhood. i believe jim was referring to the OP, but i could be wrong, lol. it's happened before. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  20. alright thanks alot for the help guys anytime john! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  21. ok sean, you want to tell us how you really feel? lol...damn. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  22. if the maw 10s are d2 subs, and you wired them like in the first pic (parallel, all teh positives together, and all teh megatives together) you are indeed at .5ohm. you need to series each sub, positive from one coil to the negative of the other and the remaining positive and negative go to the amp,(each sub) and you'll have your 2 ohm final load. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
