I've got the blues
40's and 50's have been hit on different mics using rl-p's (15's)..so they have the capability of getting loud. twice as loud as what u currently have? i have no clue. with the increased cone area and xmax, u should definitely be louder, but no clue as to how much, too many varibles... also, all frequencies should be reinforced as well as output. not just because of brand switch, but because ur increasing potential output...of course, the rl-p is a really nice sub, which tends to reproduce all frequencies strongely. and of course, enclosure is going to be a importance here as well (for the output as well) wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

1.5 cubes vs 2.0 cubes
Not to jack the thread or anything but what would you rec as far as a SQ ported box for an RL-P 12, a bit bigger? I'm not sure I'm still toying around with making a transmission line for the Rl-p just for fun but I might put my IDMAX in that instead, since I just made a fiberglass box for my SS no, i wouldn't go any bigger. in fact, for sq, i'd just tune a bit lower, possibly. but only if ur midbass was strong. IME, tuning real low takes the output side of things outa the equation. when i did the 2.5ft^3 box tuned to 28hz, i honestly didn't like the sound or the output from the rl-p (or xxx for that matter), but when i slugged the box to get it up to 34-35hz, displacement dropped to 1.9-2ft^3...both sounded awesome. i know of a few ppl running about 2ft^3 tuned to 28hz and love it.. that's why i suggest the 2ft^3 box, it just seems to work well in it.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

what now?
sound deading, so that ur sq is even more pleasing..unless it's wind noise aroung the glass....in which case, buy a motorcycle and enjoy the wind... and that's it... enjoy that system all u can... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I've got 400 watts.....what to do with it?
u tune fairly low, 34hz, u'll sound almost as good as sealed, IMO, and gain the extra output of ported. if u tune any lower, u'd better have strong midbass to pickup where the sub is going to drop off. also, u'll gain a bit mor sq, but ur overall output will suffer. u'll like tuned low vented enclosures...u will wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

RL-p 15s vs RE RE 12s

Sx sealed??
afterreading the reviews of the sx..going sealed...i'd do 2ft^3 with some polyfill.....i think any smaller and ur going to be kicking urself... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

1.5 cubes vs 2.0 cubes
i would chose the 2ft^3 tuned about 34hz....that's a great streetbeater box for the rl-p...the sq isn't lacking in it either.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

bass boost or no?
as the tutorial says, turn ur headunit's sub control all the way up, leave the amp's bass boost OFF and proceed to set ur gains. this gives u the option of turning the headunit's sub control down if there is too much going on without having to mess with the amp. kinda like a better bass knob. can't wait to hear what u think of the rl-p's! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
