amp for 2 15 rl-p's
u have a d4..u can only wire at 2 ohm mono, 4 ohm stereo or 8 ohm mono. the answer to ur question lies in ur amp....what is it? what are it's specs? does it have a regulated power supply? and yes, the same power at 4 ohm is easier on the electrical system then the same power at 2 ohm...but i don't know why..lol..ijust know it is from experience. it has something to due with the current and amperge draw at that particular resistance...assuming both class d or similiar technology wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Interesting about ports...
a ported box only has lower power handling below tuning freq as the amp will lose the ability to control the sub as it and the box unloads. hence all the great pr0n at 25hz in a 35hz tuned box. and because ported boxes tend to be bigger then sealed,otherwise... a ported box actually has greater inside air pressure then a sealed box due to the port allowing air to be pulled in as the sub moves out. now, that is in my language..lol....there are other properties that determine why what i said is true(or at least mostly..lol), but i'll let the techie guys explain it... as to flakko's question...in most cases, a ported box peaks higher then it's tuning, usually around 8-11 cycles, depending upon port area, vehicle, placement...yada,yada,yada. u could easily port into ur cabin and be more then happy. IMO and IME, u won't get the "boom, boom,BOOM" that u think u'll get due to the tuning freq. it'll sound the same as if the sub was there... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Hmm. Decisions...
there is nothign wrong with re subs..lol....it's jsut the "cult bandwagon" of followers, most of which have never owned/heard an re sub. it's also the fact that if u say one bad thing about an re sub, even david is liable to come down on ya. anyway...just what size enclosure, net, are u shooting for? u have 5.2 cubes now without sub/port displacement...u could get away with 2 cubes net and be fine. (4 cubes total) at least IME, most 12's (including the vaunted xxx) work great in 2 cubes tuned to 34hz... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

amp for 2 15 rl-p's
newer rl-p's are all d4..it's the older ones u could get in d2.. either amp is a good choice, however if the pg does have the regulated power supply, get it..ur electrical system will love u for it!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

its a disease
lol... man....i'm "just" 33..and i don't see a cure anytime soon..i've owned my silverado for just about a year... 5 different head units..fixing to be 6 (anyone interested in an eclipse 3434?) two different sets of componets up front (focals gave way to memphis, haven't been happier) one set of rear speakers (memphis of course..lol) and at least 6 different amps powering at least 6 different sub setups...lol..and i'm not done yet..hehe when does it all end? it won't. we have a disease, and unlike most, it just keeps getting worse. there is no cure as we press forward to find the perfect soundstage, the loudest set up or a swell combination of both... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

What's missing in this industry?
*raises hand to both rants* while i'm no where near the technical guru's u fellows are (i gotta let my hands do my talking), u have both hit very solid points. local shops...only one i'll deal with. and he's losing the one guy i totally trust to somebody in NC. but scott himself is the same caliber. and there are several in the area, but like as been pointed out...all they do is push the product that materials. service...especially online. RE needs to take notes from Mike at SS. at the time i bought my rl-p i was considering teh xxx...never got a return email and i haven't looked back. when i got the xxx in the raffle and proceeded to say it wasn't God's gift to subwoofers, i got "e-yelled" at by RE's guy because i didn't pay nothing for it and shouldn't be bad mouthing a "gift", which i donated money for. oh yeah..i wasn't giving it enough power which would help it reproduce lower frequencies. prices.....we drive them up. as well as all the unauthorized dealers that ppl buy from. even though the comps are slowly dying, the business is going strong. as more kids turn into driving age, it'll get even stronger. yet when u can buy a memphis m3 sub for about 1/3 of the price of an authorized shop..who cares about warranty. u can buy three subs for the price of one. and i too could go on and on..but i believe the finer points have been touched. what needs to happen, with this great internet median is that all the ppl logged on, get together and let the manufactures know where we stand. will it work? naw..it couldn't get everyone together... oh well... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
