  1. sweet! and u know eD is trustworthy when he had to create his own forum to keep from getting bashed...adn then bans ppl who do bash him. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  2. ok..on paper is one thing, in real world apps is another. there are just too many varibles to say the xbl>LMT when LMT is just a proto. when after it is readily available and shortcomings are known, then possibly i could see the statement xbl>LMT. yet on the flipside, those with LMT proto drivers say they kick the hell outa xbl drivers. so one could say that LMT > xbl based upon real world reviews of prototypes. i'm not arguing about what the technology incorperates or is, i'm just stating that one can't say xbl> LMT until they get ran side by side... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  3. no eD subs, but an IDMAX. and guess who builds the eD subs now? it'll be biased. it's ben milne for pete's sake..lol.... and he won't let the soon to be publicly available rl-s in? or the uber? which can be bought by the public for $999 thru tcsounds directly..(as told to me by a lil birdie) wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  5. i think that xbl^2 is a great technology, but it has it's issues has well. but ur correct on the sq part. that is simply going to be up to each and everyone's own taste. my main problemn with cb's post was the "xbl>LMT"...i was just curious has to how he would know. i'm not trying to dog xbl...but i do think the re xxx is overly hyped. as to ppl tearing chit up, well, it's kinda hard to argue with that...lol wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  6. I tell you what.....I'm half tempted to pick up a damned 12" Ava just to do a side-by-side comparo between them.....LOL Damnit...I may just give Chad a call Monday that would be kewl..lol.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  7. awesome!!! man o man...SS subs rock!! they get low too...even the eights!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  8. ryan...the wifey says ok, but u have to make a couple of the payments first....lol.. aaron..not yet...but pics will be happening this weekend. hopefully i'll get a digi camera and get a vid...and yeah, it's quite a difference in the truck...and it's getting 1700wrms (rated) from my orion 2500d, conservatitvely of course...hehe wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  9. have u heard an LMT enabled driver? have u heard one side by side an xbl^2 enabled driver? if not how can u say that xbl owns LMT? and until u do, i don't think u should make the comparision. i haven't heard an LMT driver yet, but i've owned an xbl driver.(re xxx) and IMO, it wasn't all that. while a great driver, it, IMHO, doesn't deserve all the hype it gets. and i'm not the only person who's stated that certain xbl drivers don't achieve what they say, especially in sealed applications. sorry about the rant, but with LMT just coming to the public and such a limited few owning/listening to it and giving it rave reviews, i don't see how xbl>LMT is possible...at least not yet. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

i agree about hte IDMAX eDuh connection...kinda biased right there. also, the solo x?? against an w7, IDMAX and whatever other subs he has listed..off just 1200-1400wrms? and he's going to build a manufactores recommended box for each one? nope..it's not biased at all...... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  11. josh...exactly what nick and ryan said. this wasn't the optimal box for the dirver, but it works in it. the proto has some internal damage, but it works. all in all, with everything considered, this sub did a wonderful job. it played the notes it was supposed to play and it played them very clearly. no, if anything, my review is more of a statement of what's wrong with my system, what it's lacking, not the sub. i'm currently running my rl-i 8 and i've still got the same problem. lack of mid bass. running these last two subs has made me realize that the s18x is just overpowering the rest of the system whereas these two were trying to do what they were supposed to do...blend in. if u've always wanted a mag or want a really nice sql sub, don't hesitate to buy the MAG. it really is a clean driver that can get really loud. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  12. good morning ed, everyone! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  15. wow, what can i say? it's all been said. mike, thanks for the update and while i know u don't want customers to wait, it's nice to know that business has picked up enough to drain the stock. here's to the magnets getting here and the next ones built! as to the eights...soooooo....do i need to get another one? is the second run going to be that much better? and just put this first one on the shelf? can't wait for the s's!!! and as always..thanks for the awesome job and products! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  16. finding someone who has experience with the ava and rl-p is going to be hard. both are too new to be experienced by more then a handful, if that. ok, that said, i own/ have owned both the rl-p and the xxx. and i prefer teh rl-p. in a sealed box the rl-p got almost as loud, got a whole bunch lower and IMO sounded better. in a ported box, it was closer as the xxx finally got low, but the rl-p again IMO, sounded better, got just as low and just about as loud. i would guess the ava (the xbl^2 ones) would perform similiar to the xxx. sq bieng subjective, that would be up to u. output wise, i believe the ava would hold the edge, if it performs like the xxx. reaching the lows would depend upon enclosure for the ava and the rl-p would shake ur vehicle to death regardless of box. also, saying the xxx/ava would hold the output edge isn't saying the rl-p isn't loud. it's loud. impressively loud. and amazingly clean doing it. and i won't say for sure the ava and xxx would perform identical, but i'd wager the performance is pretty close. and i'll say this, i still own my rl-p (and a rl-i), but i sold the xxx. to me it was overrated, by the ppl. it just didn't perform the way everybody says it does, IMO. lastly, i believe joehemi is waiting on his ava and he owns an rl-p. so hopefully he'll get here and toss in his $.02. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  17. we will be holding a memiorial service every night you're away You'd better buy ALOT more wax then.... harhar... but i'll try to think of u guys while of there!! NOT! but seriously, it will suck not being able to log on for a bit...so don't go too crazy in here..i don't wanna read too much..lol and tom, the rl-i8 cutout is 7 5/16" wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  18. tom, yes i did....adn it rocked! btw..it's now wired for 2 ohms, so a rated 1700wrms is going to it..and let me say this...i have not touched the amp, only the sub control on the h/u..it's at 8 outa 16 ( the gain on the amp is abotu 2/3-3/4, but remember there's usually a s18x in there) and the sub is rocking! i can go a lil more for certain songs, like the DB song tom just mentioned, but that's about it. don't worry mike, i'm being real careful!! again i noticed a bit of a roll off with the upper frequencies. not huge, but there. i'll know more tomorrow as i'm riding around with baby 8 in da back. but i honestly can't get over how low this thing drops...it sounds like a 12 back there in the lowlows. it 's so kewl..definitely beats any other 8 i've heard down low! i've gotta get a digital camera..this thing moves a bunch!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  19. while i'm not sure how great a snailshell enclosure is, and it would have to be great, one 12 xxx isn't going to beat a pair of 12 rl-ps, sealed or otherwise, unless the snailshell is just that great of a box. i've owned and ran the 12 xxx and the 12 rl-p head to head. adn the rl-p sounds just as good, gets lower on sealed boxes then the xxx and will run with the xxx on the mic. i do think the xxx is the louder of the two (though one pereson listening said they were equal, no mic used ), and will handle more power, but the rl-p is the better all around driver IMO...and i've ran them ported and sealed. that being said.... i think 1.8ft^3 is on the small side, i'd try for at least 2ft^3 w/polyfill. but i'd second denim's option of running a pair of 12's...ported. if ur getting 1.8ft^3 sealed for a pair of 15's, u'll get real close to that for a pair of 12's ported.... and 12" rl-ps love 2ft^3 tuned to 34hz vented boxes... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I cant fit 2 12" vented, being they are 2 cubes each not including port volume and woofer displacement. My box dimensions cannot exceed 4cubes ( 16h/17d/33w ). I can fit a 15" H2 ported as they take a smaller box to match thier motor strength, a couple of 15"sealed, and that xxx snailshell. i also consdered 2 10 ported and that might be another option i need to consider..... i see, ok.... why not apply the H2 idea (one 15 ported) and apply that to the rl-p? or even the xxx? with the situation ur looking at, that would be my recommendation... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  20. not like any of u will miss me whilest i'm gone anyway... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
