  4. i've got the coolest job...albeit, one of the most dangerous..lol i work for General Dynamics -OTS (ordinence tactical systems) i make medium caliber ammo for the men and women in uniform. by medium caliber i mean from 20mm to about 45mm. this week i'm installing the energitics that are the trace in a tracer. basiclly, 4 pellets of an aluminum /magnesium mix are pressed into a tiny fin base that is later attached to an armor piercing projectile called the penetrator. this is a discarding sabot round for the 25mm bushmaster cannon on bradley vehicles. pics are on the way..lol. the penetrator (either tungstan or DU, depleted uranium)is on the left, next to a 20mm TP round the black bulge is one piece of the discarding sabot, the other is a windscreen (would be a plastic pointed nose cone basicly) here is the bottom of the fin that i'm tracing...the green gel in this inert round is where the energitics would be... see how thin it is...lol....it will go thru like 8" of steel or something of that nature..lol man, did i just ramble on or what??? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  5. i agree...i took my 12 xxx to 2500 rated..didn't take long for it to disagree... the mojo 12 on the other hand just smiled and asked for seconds..lol.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  6. ok, i've learned something..lmao... so do to the interior walls not having as much surface area, u can use smaller round then a compareable slot? so i'm guessing less friction, less chance for noise, correct? hence the ability to use smaller area... kewl... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  7. his customer courtesy is what swayed me... i sent mike and re an email the same day...it was either the rl-p 12 or the xxx12 (which i got later and have since sold), i still haven't recieved an email from re...mike and i chat regularly...and i haven't looked back!! i'm sure other companies have their own way of doing things...personally, i like mike's. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  8. can get very loud...i'm not fond of giving them rms for daily...but they can even sound pretty good.. teh solo x in my truck sure does.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  9. nice sub..can't wait to get my hands on it..lol.. two boxes are a reality... 2.5ft^3 ported.. 2ft^3 sealed... power in the 1200 and 2500 wrms range..hehe wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  10. which, if that was the case, he did very successfully. i am leaning towards the cheap shot to pick up publicity towards his "new tech" sub... we shall see wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  11. anyway... handing it off to the daytimers... i'm off to work... "i make the things that make things go boom for a living" wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  19. so.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  20. steve.. i did it a few times for the sign companies i worked for...even a few time/temp things... basicly, if u can run ur cable tv, u can do the camera. it's really that simple. and someone like ur self, shouldn't take more then a few hours for a single camera set-up... multiple camera setups aren't hard either...we did one inside a gas station...basicly amounted to a dedicated computer with four cameras inputting into it. the computer's software allowed for what u saw on the monitor,ie: all four images at once, two images, one image...yada,yada,yada, and did the recording at the same time. it all came as a package, basicly, plug and play. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  21. Gonna look sweet when they're done going to get resined tonite..tomorrow... sanded, bondo'd and sprayed!! going for real flat, real glossy finish... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  22. i wouldn't go over about 2ft^3 net, after port and sub displacement...if he's doing just one. tune about 36hz...about 20in^2 of port..maybe 30in^3. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  23. i believe it's the same...i'll have to graph some stuff to see if velocity changes... that's a good question, one i do really have an answer too...but i would assume that u still would need just as much. aero ports change it up a bit because of the increased area right at the end...but i'm not sure how the math works... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  24. yeah because you might lose most of your hearing with it running at .5 the orion hardly pulls current (or so it seems) at 2 ohms too..at .5 ohm, it lets u know it's back there...lol wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  25. thanks jim... i've gotta read that link tomorrow i'm out wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
