  1. ok, ok.. got this bad boy installed in the recommended .17ft^3. with the t/s parameters mike listed, this thing can mechanically handle 1600 wrms before exceeding xmax...thermally, well, that's a test for another day..lol. anyway, i've got it wired for 2 ohm and running off the hifonics nx750d in my wife's car, so it's getting a rated 400wrms. and i'll say this, i think the 400 is just tickling this thing..lol. it, while moving, isn't being stressed at all. it's a cool lil sub. musically, wow! from freak-a-leek to speaker box intro to pour some sugar on me..it just doesn't miss a beat! i do believe the box is a lil on the small side, but then again, it does a great job of getting low anyway and it does get loud! i can't wait to try it ported! but even in this lil sealed box it moves.. later, i will put a lil more power on it just to see how it does.. and with that, the pics... and yeah, i'm too lazy to host them first.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  2. that's been the reason for some saying the xbl^2 is better..less mass, more efficient..blah,blah,blah.... in real world apps, i doubt anyone will notice a difference..especially just everyday consumers. but hey, i'm not as smart as some of u technical guys when it comes to that end of subs..lol....so what do i know?? anyway, mike has yet to mislead me in anyway, so i'll trust his judgement on the technology. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I could care less about this vs DW's brainchild... I'm thinking in terms of LMT vs "Regular" TC Sounds over & underhungs. Most likely, in the average install (recommended box & nominal power), the difference will be negligible. But for the enthusiasts that are going to build an enclosure around this woofer and put the appropriate power & signal processing into it... I'm thinking the gains & losses of the design will show. But, as you said elsewhere... this is just another useless post. By me this time though. -Nick no, not useless. just a bit beyond my knowledge and understanding. it seems we both agree that to the average joe (like me) the difference is more then likely moot. what we'll notice is the sound quality improvement and (hopefully) gain in spl across the board. like u said, to someone building an enclosure around this technology, those things matter a bunch. especially factoring in soundstage, amp power to sub, componets, tuning or net sealed volume, desired response...yada,yada,yada....but if ur going to throw an rta on it, these are things u need to know. in the end, i guess we'll have to just experiment until the optimum enclosure/app/power is found..lol wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  3. thanks man!!! so it's about air slowing down at the edges and the actual tuning freq that it produces...in a nutshell... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  4. i usually just run a single short one to the first amp, then split it off from there. i've never fused my REM wire, though nick has a point. u can't have too much protection, but then again, never fused, never had an issue...so i guess my whole post is useless..lol.. so what else is new? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  6. sup nick? btw, justin just got laid off... u need to read more..lol wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  7. funny, and we female dog about $2/gallon + for gas... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  8. guess who's been running their mouth about SS for over a year?? guess who has one of the first(if not the first) SS rl-p (or any SS sub for that matter) ever mentioned on a forum? guess who has the first rl-i8 sold to the public? yeah, that might not be enough to warrant the first go at the LMT, but it sure outa go a lot longer ways toward then my zip code... so blah blah blah... f0o wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  9. awesome update guys..thanks go to eric for getting ahold of warbleed (and idiot, i too was waiting for the sparring between ponte and wiggins) and mike for breaking out some more info.. and regardless of where the tour ends, the LMT better start at my house!! lmao..and squeak ain't but a few hours away.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  10. lucky bastage I swear, I will buy it from you after you test it maybe I should sell the H2 and run a pair of D4 RL-p's sealed off the amp, because I think sealed they should be safe i believe in the right box, the rl-p's will take 1200wrms each easily. ported or sealed. i ran my twelve off 1200wrms ported...and it did fine. and u being u, i doubt u'll crank it excessivly or not know when to notch it down. and u'll like the rl-p's. and then ur on ur way to being like me!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee don't have the space for 12's ported in the sled, unless I go small ported well, they get plenty loud sealed..lol... man, this is the most i've seen u post in here ever..lol.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  11. i wish i could say..but i'm not the only one in contact with mike about this. so i'm not necessarly goingto be first (if that's who ur referrring too). but i'm sure mike will shed some light on it when he gets here.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

my neigbor has that bodystyle judge in a weird light blue color. he also has a very seet, if not nasty, 65 GTO in dark blue. and he's got a very cherry 57 bel air...and a 36 willy's or something..i haven't been close enough to really tell... his son has a sweet 70 chevelle..does 10.6's in the 1/4 yeah, i'll try to get pics...shouldn't be hard..lol...one really big car show is coming up 5-1...and another one at the end of may.. but those are sweet pics justin.. and jim...who doesn't like having a woody(especially if used properly..heh)?? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  15. it's hard to beat the AC for sure. but like in my wife's car, the CleanSweep might be the better option as GM loves to roll off the bass as the volume goes up. i like the remote trigger of the LC6 though, i didn't notice if the CS had one. i alos liek the auto calibration of the CS, that's neat. and since i'm not really going to amp anything else in her car, the LS^ would probably be too much. so i'd say, if your going to run multiple amps, and u being who u are, the LC6. if ur lazy like me and just adding a sub (i replaced speakers, but the factory amp is plenty) the CS. what's the MSRP on both units? does the CS have the remote trigger like the LS6? if so and price is right, i see an CS going in the grand prix. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  16. i've already got the rl-p..hehe...now an rl-i...soon an LMT. i'm eventually going to have one of whatever he decides to make. i dunno why..lmao...but i will. anyway, in all honesty..the 8 will get tested this weekend..and probably put up. i really have no need for it..hehe...but i wanted it. when the LMT's get out, i might yank the s18x and put a pair of 15's in the truck..we'll see. hopefully, mike will let me test one and then i'll decide if that's the route i'm going. i've got to say this...the more i look at this 8, the more amazed i am at it's beef. i've had what i consider some of the f=beefiest 8's ever, rfhx2's, and this thing makes them look small..lol. and the pup's overall height is just about the same as the motor on the rl-i... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

i would wager that one rl-p could keep up with the same size w7. but denim is right, for the money, you could buy two rl-p's and flat out beat the w7, while still maintaining w7 level sq. my 15" treo ss's with 1000wrms in a ported box was just as loud as a pair of 13w7's with 3000wrms sealed. (actually, i was a lil louder according to the mic) and the 13w7's were inside the cabin fo the car, which had a better electrical system (multiple batteries, 50farad cap) compared to my stock system and one farad cap (i know, i had it lying around, so i used it..lol) not dogging the w7, great woofer...but there is just as good out there for less money. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  18. agreed..while i dislike none of them, at times, they can get "elitest"..that is a kewl word... but i like the no frills attitude of mike (suck up here..now where's my LMT?)..and the fact he won't sell anything until he has it in hand. and he's just an allaround great and wonderful sexy guy!! (<--- comeon LMT) he's my hero!! (<---really workin it here) wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  19. yeah, some. evidentally, adire says this technology sucks(not really, but close), basiclly. it's really inefficent and as the coil gets near the end, the bl actually gets stronger (due to the windings) and puts a ton of stress on the suspension and creates distortion. they had similiar tech called v12. which is why they didn't use it. so i have a few questions.. are those the reasons why the xmax has been scaled down from 45mm+ to the 38mm ur using? is that the reason dual spiders are being used? and if those are, does shortning the xmax keep the sub from reaching those points dan was talking about? and if i'm talking out my ass, why is dan saying those things about LMT (besides the obvious ones)? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  20. yessir!! but i've got another box to build that's paid for first ..and then i get to play with the lil monster...muhahahahahaha wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  21. Kent, i want one (or 2) i might want another one..lmao!!! and supa...my boy is dying to have a lil beat of his own..the boy listens to chingy's holiday inn every night b4 bed..lol... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee LOL, thats pretty funny/cool yeah...the wifey hates the first few moments of the song..but he's a boy..hehe ryan.....2 pair 2ft, 2 pair 18ft... but don't go ordering anything special because of this....i just want them to have them....and will use a short pair to replace the set in the wife's car..... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  22. 5, not counting the house...lol...8, if i count the rack system and my computer... though one, a jl12w0, is destined to meet a violent death at the wall socket... not nowhere near as many as a ryan, or nick, or steve, or mike, or even u..lol.....i get to play with alot of subs due to the shop i work at.(part time) and steve...they might just be worth it..lol...i'll know more in a couple of days.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  23. Kent, i want one (or 2) i might want another one..lmao!!! and supa...my boy is dying to have a lil beat of his own..the boy listens to chingy's holiday inn every night b4 bed..lol... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  24. How many do you want? i was just messin..lol.. though a couple of pair wouldn't hurt....how much for a short pair..like 2ft? and a couple of long pair? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  25. lemme think about it... ok, thought about it...no. lmao..man, this is a collector's..first public rl-i 8..signed and labeled.. priceless...just about..lmao mike's got a few...hehe wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
