I do like the Challenger best, but you can't argue the sales figures on the Mustang. indeed i did. and regardless of the sealed box pushers here, lol, the rl-s performs flawlessly in ported boxes. will you lose some of the potential sq of the woofer, sure. it won't have a flat response, it'll be peaky, but for rap music? ported will be fine. my suggestion ported? 3 cubes, 36in^2 of port and tuned 32hz. that should grab just about every low in rap music that matters, yep still be peaky enough to get LOUD. and it will sound clean, just make sure he's using a quality amp, ie; sundown, with enough power to not have to clip it. oh, and that's per driver! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

My dad almost had his arm ripped off when his shirt sleeve got caught in a grain auger. Luckily the shirt just ripped off and he only had a few cuts and bruises. My stepdad had a finger torn off when it got caught in a chain in a hay baler. Farm accidents happen. Your dad is definitely lucky on that one. A local guy around home had his finger almost entirely ripped off when he jumped to get off a tractor his wedding band caught and his finger was hanging by a shred of skin, luckily they were able to reattach it for him though. Earlier this week I almost did the same. I went to my buddies house to help him take care of his boat. He didn't tell me it was a 2 5/16" ball and my receiver is locked onto the truck with a 2". Needless to say he doesn't have so many tools so I was trying to get the ball off with a pipe wrench and it slipped *imagine that* I fell backwards hit his boat trailer and got caught by my wedding ring. My finger is a bit mangled, bruised, and the diamond from my ring is somewhere in his yard, but there should be no long lasting effects other than I will where the ring less. i've used woodscrews and tnuts with my rl-i8, never had an issue. woodscrews are the easiest, tnuts the strongest..like adrian mentioned, make sure your resin/glue the tnuts in. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

that bold section there, you sure about that? seems in all my years, i've heard some pretty damn impressive, bass heavy vehicles that didn't ahve a sub one. and few that had one small sub, but a very stout front stage. you might want to step back and rethink the road you are about to embark on. now, if she wanted 155+db on music as i saw mentioned earlier, then i'd agree. but she stated that she wasn't about impressing everyone else, and by dumping the mach 460 and building a solid front stage (which could be a nice 3-way setup), she wouldn't have to go anywhere near massive subs/power to have a nice bass havy, clean sounding and loud car. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

or instead of trading the amp in on one that will work with your subs impedence, you could amp up your electrical a bunch. a whole bunch, gotta keep the current flowing if you decide to play below an amp's rated impedence. but then again, for the money spent for all that, one could just trade their amp in..... just a thought. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
