Welcome to the IHoP
bastage, lol. though i kinda like the arched housing. of course, i no longer own a 1911, as the rusty sumbitch was traded in on a python! but a springfield will indeed find it's way into the inventory. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

It's a shame that the police don't ever get the chance to empty eighteen clips into the f!ckers. I hope it doesn't ever happen again, but if it does, I hope some dumb shit waits too long and takes one in the throat. the sad truth is that the kid won't get the blame, the gun will. and with the pansy pants democrats about to run the country, you can damn sure bet that the sks, and similiar firearms, will be banned yet again. funny thing is, the factory attachedmag in an sks only holds ten, so by their standards, it isn't even hi cap, and you have to reload via stripper clips, or you have to modify the gun for detachable mags. people claim they heard 20 or 25 shots, that means reload(unless modded). and reloading an sks isn't a fast or easy job. even with stripper clips and a patient hand. oh well, at least my sks and saiga (ak-74 [yes, 74. it's in .223] with a different stock and no pistol grip) will be grandfathered. time to start buying mags for them though. oh, and steve, the first mall shooting this year did indeed end with the shooter getting capped by the poe-poes.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Welcome to the IHoP
i need back in the gym as well....but this stupid slipped disc(s, c5,c6,c7) mean i can't move my head much, can't sit down for long and definitely can't lift. i also found out i have some form of arthritis on c6. on the front, where they are supposed to be kinda square with rounded edges, c6 looks like it has a "cow catcher" on it from some old steam engine. doc says it's from multipule compressions and /or impacts. he asked if i played much football, ummm, yeah, from 3rd thru 12th. not too mention a little wrestling, alot of basketball and countless games of pickup football year around. and while not straight, i don't have enough curve to my cervical spine either. yay for me!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Building my first ported box
no thanks to me? lol, sorry, but i just can't let go of those two beautiful subs. i will try to get my box measured tonight after work for ya. and the pvc for the port, or an aeroport, will go a long way in helping maintain box volume. and even with 3/4", you'll want to brace the long panels, especially the top. that's where it's most likely to flex. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Welcome to the IHoP
the ex had a pair of 'em really soft, but totally worthless as pets I have killed a few in the lab, the inner ear of the chinchilla is very similar to the human ear making them great research items. Only to study the inner workings of the ear you have to rip part of their head off to expose it. They are pretty hardy and actually live for up to 10 hours that way or so. PETA loves the work we do sometimes. wow...... lol i say we do that at the power meet at sean's new digs!!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Shallow Mount Subs for wedge truck enclosure?
and the pioneers are junk...period. clarion makes a nice shallow mount, as does kicker, though it's deeper then most, it also handles alot of power and comes with a metal plate and gasket so you can gain room by removing part of the box behind the motor. the new si bms sound like they are going to be a winner, as do the sundowns... whatever you chose, don't pick the pioneers, you will regret it. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Adjusting settings
grab your dmm, throw the positive lead into the rca out, the negative lead to the outer ring of the same out. with the dmm set to ~ac, turn up the radio till it's at it's loudest setting you'll listen too (or at clipping, if you have an oscope and have already measured that), then adjust the loc gains until you are reading 3 volts. of course, if you have said oscope, you might want to throw that on the rca out as well, to see if your clipping there as well. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

mach5 pr?
ok, double check my math... if i'm using a pair of 12" pr with an sd of 480cm^2, my effective radius (combined) is 10". this relates to a 20" diameter port, (or two 10" ones, length is 175.75 per that way) in a 2ft^3 box means a 351.5" long port for a tuning of 34hz. converted to volume and then to weight, that means roughly 433g divided between the prs. each pr has a mms of 200g, so i would need to add 16.5g to each pr for a rough start? btw, the pr part number i'm looking at is SD315 at partsexpress..... and does 2ft^3@34 with ~475wrms sound ok to you mark? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

mach5 pr?
R = (Sd/PI)^0.5 i need a little help with this one... if sd of each radiator is 480cm^2, what is the effective radius of a pair of them? i get 153, but i'm sure that's wrong. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

mach5 pr?
i thank you sir! after reading that page, i guess i picked a good sub, lol. with a qts of .27 it fits right in the recommended range for a pr. so, to get this to layman's terms... i design a ported enclosure for the maw12.. i then do the equations to determine what the two prs "effective"port radius would be i then get the length of port, and figure out it's volume do the math and convert volume to weight and that's what i need the prs to weigh. and simple test is to send sine waves at the pr in the otherwise empty encloure to dtermine if it's tuned correctly that sound about right? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
