MAW 10's powered off a 9.1 at 1 ohm
IME, the maws can indeed handle more then rated. 350 over rated might be pushing it. but as you mentioned, set your gains carefully, and i believe you'll be happy with the results. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Memphis MSYNC8 questions
they'll get lower for sure. louder maybe. and they'll work fine in door, jsut seal it up well, and you'll love those 8's. if the right offer is made, i might be tempted to pull my sq 6.5s out and sell them to ya, lol. i've got a pair of kicker ss 6.5s on my floor waiting to go in.... with a pair of rmb8 midbasses...hehe wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee dont tempt me. I would do a 3-way with those msq6's and msync8 mids and sell the tweeters and crossovers from the msync set. lol, your tempted. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Memphis MSYNC8 questions
35 to 50 wrms on the mid, a little less on the tweet if you go biamped. teh synq crossover doesn't allow for biamping, if you go passive. if you stay passive, snag a set of sq crossovers, tehy are biampable. knowing the squeers around here, they are going to tell you go active. if you do, i'd start with the tweeter around 2.5k on the bottom end adn the mid running from around 50-55hz up to the tweeter. it's a 1" metallic dome, so you can go lower if needed. as to using them as a coaxil or componet, depends upon vehicle. but i'm sure most will say mount that tweet up high, and forward. but you'll have to play around with location to get it right. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

the wifey has wanted me to gtfo for over a month now. two weeks ago, i told scott i was looking for something stable after a payroll check bounced. i don't deposit the checks anymore. i cash them and then deposit the cash. it's that bad. sean, when you were down, things were a lot better. he wasn't divorced from his brains yet. but yeah, in the long run, it's better that i'm gone. i get a key to the woodshop, so that's pretty cool, lol. i turn my office keys in tomorrow. i'll go job hunting tomorrow, file for unemployment ( i would have been able to do that online, but because i worked in beloit, wi last year, i can't ) and mow the grass later in the afternoon. should be a ncie day. might get the oil changed in the truck, the change oil light is on. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

New Amp... maybe??
look into a small memphis belle. it's a 5 channel, and at 2 ohm on the sub side will give you 250-300wrms. and you will have an extra set of channels left over to go active up front!!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Welcome to the IHoP
That sucks, what a retarded reason to do something. It sounds like it will just postpone the inevitable. it's all good. i've got an offer at a local finance place, as an assisitant manager. money isn't great, but with overtime and mileage, i'll do ok. i'll have a week to find something else too, lol. so a bit of a vacation. thinking fo starting my own local shop. concentrate on online box builds and some easy local stuff.some h/u plus 4s, prefabs and subs, stuff like that. make it where i keep minimal inventory, you bring it, i install it. or i'll order what you want. concentrate on not selling anything namebrand, save for head units and speakers. there's an old 3 bay gas station in town, right on the main drive, no real residential neighbors, that i can lease for $600 a month. needs some renovation, but it's available. now i just need a bit of fundage, lol. just got back from a nice bike ride. i love a nice sunday afternoon jaunt! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Welcome to the IHoP
oh shit, forgot too mention, i got laid off yesterday, lol. seems it's time to re-up his workman's comp insurance, and we had one too many employees. and he let me go so that maybe he'll get the bug to come into work on time adn actually give a shit again. seems that having me there meant he didn't have to be, because he knew i would be on time, could run the store and take care of things. so letting me go means he's got responsibilty again, lol. end of summer, no more radio activity. end of september, latest. fuck, it's humid. time for a sam adams, lol wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Kent, it's aluminum, so it shouldn't take anymore than 15-20ft.lbs. for proper torquing. That's considerably less than you are able to do just by hand, so as long as you tightented them tight, it should be good. It definately sounds like a leak though. The only cause I could see is a bad gasket as it's impossible to screw up its orientation. I guess the plenum or intake could possible be warped as well, but I don't think aluminum warps. Make sure you check your vacuum hoses as well. This could also be the problem and I am guessing it IS the problem. A small leak could be a killer. all vacuum hoses that were plugged off/attached, are still the same. (all emisions were removed from this car), but i'll go over them again. i'm thinking of removing the intake again, adn reinstalling it. that way i can make sure of both vacuum attachments and bolt tightness. aluminum can warp, lol. maybe that's not the technical term, but one can do it if not tightened evenly for instance. which could be the culprit as well, i guess. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

jordan..pics!!! [email protected] just to refresh your memory, lol ryan1...i changed valve cover gaskets on my 86 mustang 5.0. of course that meant changing the stupid upper intake gasket as well. now tha car won't run worth a shit. won't idle. and won't tach over 2500 without a massive flat spot. from my research, i'm assuming an intake leak, as it ran great before teh gaskets. sound about right to you? i tightened the intake down from inside/out, but i didn't torque to spec (i don't hav ea clue what the spec is and i don't own a torque wrench, lol). a friend said to spray a little brake cleaner or ether around the intake/intake mating surface while it's running to help find the leak, if it's in that junction. good idea? other thoughts? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Modest system with RL-i8s
i liked my rl-i 8 sealed and ported. didn't think it suffers anywhere, in as small as the .17ft^3 mike recommends for the sealed .707 alignment. ported, it's a beast, be it standard bass reflex or transmission line. i ran focal polyglas for about two years. there are definitely better and worse componets out there. i prefer my memphis sq's and their silk tweeter over the polyglas metallic one. but , as you mentioned, it's your ears. you need to get what sounds good to you. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

tuning frequency help...
wow, with that much port area, and that little of a net box, that's going to be one massively long port. so, just to clarify.... 7-7.6 cubes net for the box 400in^2 of port 35hz tuning for example, a port 10" x 40" will need to be ~80" long to achieve that tuning, in that box, with that kind of port area wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
